The location was very central and, as a lone traveller, was pleased to have a manned reception area. The staff were all super helpful and welcoming. The breakfast room was exceptionally beautiful. My room was very good, although some noise as it faced onto the street. It was well appointed and furnished. A great base to explore Naples.

I didn't mind, but the access to the hotel is quite narrow with cobbled areas. Taxi's seemed to get there OK, but a bit of a challenge.

Great variety of fresh, tasty, continental breakfast options and scrambled eggs and bacon, all served in an absolutely beautiful dining room. Staff were all very helpful and smiley and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We asked for a kettle for our room as being English we do like a cuppa before we get up! They provided everything we needed. The mattress, when we sat on it felt hard, but boy was it comfortable and we slept really well. Towels were soft and fluffy and I'm sure they were changed every day. Great position in the old town but just off the main street so it was lovely and quiet.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like or felt it needed to be honest.

Staff were excellent, very kind, polite and helpful. Rooms were a reasonable size with most of the things you would expect and the hotel has a very charming ambience. We only stayed one night so can't comment on the location; however, there were good local restaurants nearby and the person at reception was able to recommend some options for dinner. The hotel entrance is located on a very narrow street/lane with lots of graffiti on the surrounding walls which may be off-putting for some people, but the hotel is lovely inside. There appears to be no road rules in Naples so if you get a taxi from the airport, hold on and prepare to be both shocked and entertained.

Lovely historic hotel in a very nice central neighbourhood of Naples. Lovely breakfast in a beautiful ballroom. Had a fantastic meal at Pulcinella Bistrò Ristorante in the same street (tip of the reception).

We booked a Comfort room (which was more expensive than the Economy room). When we looked at the website of the hotel that night we noticed we didn't get the right room. We asked the staff the next day and they said we had the correct room and that our room was a Comfort room. Nevertheless they gave us a small discount. Our room was exactly the same as the photo of the Economy room on the site and couldn't be any smaller. The Comfort room had separate seating which we didn't have and was obviously much larger. Or they didn't tell the truth or the photos are not accurate on their website. It certainly didn't ruin our stay, but we felt a bit swindled.

Lovely hotel, lots of charm, felt part of old Naples. Very nice staff both in reception and in the breakfast room. We had a really nice spacious room which we really appreciated.

Breakfast. The room is fantastic, the staff were excellent but cannot say the same for food which was Ok but often not very impressive. The scrambled eggs were consistently dreadful. Croissants out of a packet. Not much choice of cereals, eg no muesli. Unexciting Yoghurt. Not many jams. This is one area you should improve, especially as breakfast is one of your selling points.

The Decumani Hotel de Charme is housed in the stunning Palazzo Riario Sforza, an 18th-century noble residence that once served as the official home of Cardinal Sisto Riario Sforza, the Archbishop of Naples from 1845 until his passing. The room itself made us feel like royalty, featuring beautiful antique furniture, an impressively high ceiling, and a charming small balcony overlooking the street—an authentic and immersive touch. The provided amenities, including shower gel, shampoo, and other kits, were not only functional but also beautifully presented to match the hotel’s vintage vibe. The true gem of the hotel is the breathtaking breakfast room, formerly a Salone da ballo (ballroom). The ceiling is adorned with magnificent frescoes, while the walls are decorated with gilded mirrors and intricate stuccoes in pure gold. This grand setting transports you back in time, making you feel like a lord or queen enjoying a royal feast. The breakfast itself was delightful, featuring delicious coffee, a variety of pastries, and even Sfogliatella—a true Neapolitan treat. The hotel’s location is another big plus, situated conveniently near the port and the city center. From here, you can easily catch a bus to the airport or Pompeii from the port area, or simply explore the historic center on foot. Several welcoming cafes and restaurants are located just outside the hotel, adding to the overall charm. Overall, this was an unforgettable and magnificent experience. Highly recommended for those seeking a mix of history, luxury, and convenience in Naples.

Great hotel housed within an old palazzo. It has been beautifully refurbished and restored. As one wanders down the narrow street housing this hotel, it becomes difficult to imagine that such charm and accommodation lie behind its modest lobby. The standout feature was the breakfast, served in a grand, spacious hall. Dining there— an experience that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time—overwhelms you with beauty to the extent it might even distract you from your meal. Indeed, this hotel ensures its guests receive nothing less than unforgettable experiences.

I stayed in Room 210, which is located directly across from the kitchen. Despite the workers' efforts to be as quiet as possible, noise begins early in the morning, creating discomfort for those wishing to sleep in, particularly over the weekend.

The much hyped Breakfast Room experience was truly phenomenal - amazing food (I'm still dreaming of the traditional Easter Pie) and the room was gorgeous. The hotel itself was wonderfully located, the staff were beyond helpful and accommodating (they were instrumental in helping me get my lost luggage from the airport!) and the entire stay went off without a hitch.

For some reason the point of improvement that sticks out for me was that the pillows were too small / flat? And the bed was comfy but could have been more comfortable. I stayed in an economy room so maybe next time I will book larger.

When we first arrived, we wondered if we were in the right place due to the modest size of the lobby. However, the hotel exceeded our expectations with its spacious interior, providing a beautifully appointed room that was perfect for three people. It was impeccably clean and tidy, with excellent facilities and an outstanding dining area. The location was equally impressive, being conveniently close to numerous charming restaurants. This very positive feedback reflects the exceptional value for money we experienced overall.

Lack of hotel lounge and bar facilities; this is basically rooms and a breakfast hall. Bar was closed on our first evening (Sunday). Roof terrace had insufficient seating for more than a handful of guests. Other small reading rooms were available but without outside windows. Cold buffet breakfast was very good but hot breakfast poor.
