Relais della Porta exceeded all expectations. It occupies one floor of an old historic palazzo so it was very interesting to stay in such an historic building. We loved the old lift , 10c coins are needed to make it move but you are provided with coins in the hotel. The rooms have been modernised and were spotlessly clean, a comfy king sized bed and a balcony that let us enjoy people watching and the busy street as Naples went about its daily life. Breakfast was excellent, a great selection of dishes and wow, you can have home made cake for breakfast. The staff were very courteous and helpful. As this was a palazzo, the entrance is a huge portico through which horses and carriages passed into the cobbled courtyard. Huge wooden doors are closed at night and visitors use a small door inset into it. Certainly very secure. Not like your boring glass fronted hotels. The hotel is very central, easy walking to the old town, museums but there is a taxi rank close by. We would certainly stay again.

Wonderful staff - they went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. It is a small hotel on the 3rd floor, they whatsapp you prior to arrival and offer a pick up service which we used - it was fantastic to be met inside the airport and taken to right to the lift of the hotel. The location is on Toledo but the windows have great soundproofing so it was quiet. Wonderful new beds, all very clean and the breakfast was good too....

Naples is a gritty city which we actually loved this time as we got to know it more, be aware that old buildings don't look pretty on the outside but once inside it was great.

It is a good Bed and Breakfast centrally located in busy Via Toledo, close to Metro and downtown commerce. A lot of restaurants around. Situated in the 3rd floor of a traditional italian pallazzo. Breakfast was awesome.

TV channels were not working properly. Arriving by car withs bags may be a little troublesome since garage is expensive and located not so close. When moving out I learned I could stop the car in front of the pallazzo for some minutes to manage the bags, what I wish I have been told before arrival…

Set in an old palazzo right on the ‘High Street’ of Naples, it is right in the heart of things, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Rooms are comfortable and breakfast delightful, with a good choice to suit most tastes. But it is the staff who make the place. Having had my flight cancelled, they found me a room despite being fully booked, took great care of me, offering use of the lounge and other facilities after I had checked out. I would stay here again and recommend it.

Central located. Great welcome and helpful friendly workers. Cool old structure and beautiful building . The breakfast was incredible!!! Love the Gf options and two different egg options at the full delicious breakfast. Ester and front reception should work for Italy’s welcome committee. She was only second we met since arrived in Italy and she was so accommodating and hard working. She helped us upgrade to a larger room and we were thrilled. A true professional and lovely woman! Everyone who worked there we encountered went above and beyond.

Need more taxis to come in underground area to pick up

Well, this part of the world, I mean Naples, has it’s own “strange things”, especially if you arrive from northern part of the Europe. Don’t be surprised (in a bad way) by the looks of the entrance and paid lift (10 cents each time you are using it) 😊 – you will find enough coins on the hotel registration counter, its free for the guests and the hotel itself is like a hidden gem in the southern chaos of central Naples. You will get a short excursion upon arrival - the building is architectural heritage with 16th century floors and fresco. On the other hand – the room we’ve got was very modern in terms of facilities, with a matching style to the history of the building. Staff was amazing, the hotel exceeded my expectations regarding cleanliness and comfort. The location - central part of the city, couple steps away from shopping and dining areas.

Huge and heavy gates closed around 8-9 PM, with a really tinny door to get into, that sometimes doesn’t work properly because of lock malfunctions. But it is just a minor inconvenience, to be honest, happened like once within our stay and staff sorted it out straight away.

The welcoming staff was very kind. we arrived early before check in time, and advice us to wait for few minutes as the room is still being serviced. Surprisingly, she offerred for coffee, and we ended up having a free breakfast. The restaurant is unique, with 16th century architecture (ceiling). There was also a Yamaha Grand piano in an open room near the restaurant, and my 2 children that plays piano have some instant nice way to spend our waiting time. Overall the next 3 breakfast ended up with some minutes of piano playing. The hotel itself has full of history (16th century) and located in the center that you could have everything within the 1 km radius. Excellent choice for a place to stay.

Can't think of anything to complain. Everything you need is with walking distance. The train to Pompeii is easy to reach (Napoli Montesanto Station), near the Napoli port for boat ride to Sorrento, Amalfi, etc.

I had the pleasure of staying one night at Relais Della Porta and was truly impressed. The hotel is set in a beautifully refurbished 16th-century building that perfectly blends historical charm with modern comfort. From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the elegance and character of the space—so much attention has been paid to preserving its original beauty. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful, making my short stay feel special and memorable. A wonderful place to stay if you want to experience the rich history of Naples while enjoying top-quality hospitality. I’d gladly return!

It's an authentic building with beautiful rooms. The room was spacious, extra big bed, and everything functioning properly. The staff is very welcoming, you can feel they're trying their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast was nice - considering that you usually get croissants and coffee for breakfast in Italy, it was very rich in food choices (boiled eggs, sausages, omelet, different veggies and fruits, lots of desserts). Even some gluten free options.

The only thing we didn't like was location. It might be great for some people as it's located on the main street ( I missed this information before booking). For our liking, it was too chaotic, hectic, loud, crowded, etc. To be fair, the staff offered us a room with windows facing the inner yard, but we declined as we wanted to keep the bigger room (we solved the sound problem with noise cancelling headphones and earplugs).

My sisters and I stayed for one night prior to our flight. We were upgraded upon check in and stayed in a lovely historic room with lovely details. This location was within 10 minutes of a food tour we had booked and many historical sites. The staff was very helpful throughout our brief stay as well as assisting with booking transfers from the port and to the airport.

Each of the rooms had wonderful A/C however the common spaces of the hotel were quite warm. As we were visiting in August and this is an old historic building we were not put off, but just a note for those visiting in the warm months.
