There is really nothing to not like. Super comfortable spotless room, with excellent housekeeping. All staff exceptional, polite and nothing to much for them if you needed anything. Paved everywhere so in general suitable for disabled and wheelchair chair. Good breakfast. Restaurant meals well prepared and cooked, however the menu seemed to be the same every day which could be an issue if staying more than a couple of nights. Any issues raised taken on board and if possible solutions found or details taken for management info.

Wheelchair access to all areas possible although there are some quite steep slopes. Disadvantage for disabled is no pool side toilet facilities at ground level, all down about 15 steps with no hand rails and floor at bottom where “cubicles” are very good shower room / toilet combination the tiles are slippery when wet. Staff did offer to see if arrangements could be made to use restaurant toilets which are on same level as pool but we were not there long enough to see if this was possible.

Stunning resort!! We stayed in the hill town of Orvieto for 3 nights and then stayed here in the countryside for 3 nights to get best of both worlds - we loved both experiences! The panoramic views from the pool were just beautiful. We enjoyed a pool day and liked the poolside bar (drinks and food) for a relaxing day. We ate at the resort restaurant each evening, we liked the food! The breakfast was great, huge spread with tons of variety. Resort staff helped us book taxis to and from Orvieto (30 euros). Clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms. There was a nice well lit path between our room and restaurant.

Our 3-night stay in the Altarocca Wine Resort was the highlight of our holiday in Italy. After the heat and crowds of Rome, it was a haven of quiet and beauty, set amongst vineyards and olive groves, perfect for a few quiet, lazy days. Also a great base to discover the region - Orvieto, Rocca Ripesena, Civita di Bagnoregio. We booked a picnic in the vineyards and spoiled ourselves with the Oil & Spa Experience. It was just magic. Our rooms were located in the Borgo del Vino; we had lovely big rooms, comfortable beds and air conditioning (essential in Italy in the summer!). It was a short (beautiful) walk to the Villa Gualtieri where the reception, breakfast room and spa were located. Both areas have their own swimming pool with loungers and bar.

Our only negative comment would be that we had extremely flimsy plastic cups instead of glasses in the rooms, and paper cups instead of tea/coffee cups. Surprising for a resort catering to the luxury adult market, and not sustainable. Also a coffee machine instead of instant coffee would be a plus.

Staff was very courteous and helpful, nice restaurant on the property top end. Beautiful views, comfortable bed great shower head. We only stayed one night passing through but seems like a great place to just go and relax and enjoy. Nice little balcony with the room. Oh, and free breakfast was amazing!

Room was a little small, but not too bad. But very important, GPS took us the back roadway, which was some kind of horrible dirt road. Make sure you come in from the other side where there would be no issue.

The staff is excellent; patient, very friendly, most even remember your name (or the name of the room you're staying) and very helpfull. The breakfast is 'Italian' but with added 'continental' elements (like scrambled eggs); so it's more than enough for all diets (gluten free is also provided for, by the way). The food in the restaurant is excellent and the wines (of their own vineyard) goes very well with the dishes. The pools are big and clean, enough chairs and beds for all guests. The one we preferred had a very nice view over the valley.

After traveling to Munich, Innsbruck, Sorrento and other cities in Europe, we arrived at The Alta Rocca wine resort . The moment we got out of taxi we immediately noticed the amazing Fresh air and peace and quiet. We loved our romantic walks, great food, fabulous views, phenomenal wine, a breakfast to remember, peace and quiet, and did I the mention fresh air?! Shout out to Roberto who took the time to make us feel at home. Memories for a lifetime. Thank you for a relaxing vacation from our vacation! K and Kevin

The location and quality of the hotel was second to none. Couldn’t fault it in anyway. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped with great bathrooms and balcony views. Plenty of parking on site but be prepared to do a bit of walking between the rooms and the other parts of the hotel. Only really accessible with a hire car due to its remote location which was fine by us.

We felt quite ignored. Several times we requested food and drinks only to be over looked. Staff could do with some training

Wow, Altarocca was such a glorious experience. As it was a special occasion for our first night we had private use of the spa with a three course dinner in the relaxation area. It was exceptional. The restaurant Invivium served fantastic food. The tour of the vineyards and winery was interesting. And the staff at every encounter couldn't do enough to be helpful. It was a luxurious treat and I can't fault a thing!

Pools were clean and there were chairs available; Wine experience was a highlight of the trip! Gym was well appointed for a hotel gym! Quiet and beautiful scenery!

While breakfast was included, charged for coffee beverages. Beverages at the pool were expensive and small pours. There was not any option to have food delivered to the resort.

The resort was in winter mode which was perfect for us. During the week (14 day stay) we had our room and building basically to ourselves. Weekends had a few more guests but everyone was very polite and quiet. We were in Orvieto looking at property so the resport was a fantastic basecamp.

Not to like? Pillows are stiffer than i like but i travel a bit so i just adjust. Otherwise, the resort is ideal for short or long stays.
