It was our third time here and it never disappoints. If you want an authentic Sicilian experience then stay here. Our room was large , clean and spacious and was cleaned daily. The AC was 10 out of 10 ( in the heat it is important). Excellent swimming pool , perfect to swim after a walk in the heat of Palermo . The staff was friendly. The breakfast was solid , even had scrambled eggs cooked for me. In addition , there were home made jams from the family farm. A big thank you for the morning breakfast and a gift ( Marmelade ) , as we departed to the airport early .

Staying at this hotel in Palermo was such a wonderful experience, thanks to the incredibly warm-hearted owner, Giusy, and her lovely assistant, Raquel. They are both genuinely welcoming, cheerful, and always ready to help. You can tell they truly care about their guests and want to make sure everyone feels at home. The hotel itself reflects the old charm of Palermo perfectly—it fits the city’s vibe in such an authentic and beautiful way. While it may be a bit outside the very central areas, that’s exactly why I chose it. I loved being away from the chaos and closer to the water. And honestly, the 30-minute walk to the city center feels like nothing when you're surrounded by the beauty of Palermo—it’s a walk you’ll actually enjoy. One of the highlights was their fresh, organic fruits and vegetables sourced from local farms. I definitely recommend trying them! I felt incredibly well taken care of throughout my entire stay. Don’t hesitate to ask Giusy and Raquel for food or drink recommendations—they know all the best spots. Thank you both for the amazing hospitality and the good memories!

Just fantastic staff- Raquel and Taziana really helped make our stay easy, comfortable and relaxing! The building is gorgeous- rooms spacious with high ceilings, breakfast with delicious farm- fresh honey, ricotta, eggs. The plunge pool was great. This place is a little oasis- the neighbourhood is easily walkable to the best parts of the city, but just outside the noise. We had a great stay- We will be returning!

Mattress was a small bit soft for our 60+ year old backs! But I'd do it again for the full package- this was the best place overall we've stayed in in decades!, and we travel a lot!

Raquel was lovely and extremely helpful. I enjoyed the experience of staying in an old manor. The pool was a bonus.

I was aware from having read previous reviews that some rooms only had light from the doors (ie no windows) but I didn’t realise they overlooked an internal courtyard which made them quite dark, luckily our room also had a sitting room with a skylight that provided additional light.

Located in a beautiful old house. Service was fantastic, with a very friendly woman from Spain giving us plenty of tips about restaurants, cafes, best gelatto in town and interesting places to visit. There are nice common areas for guests. Breakfast was wonderful, including very nice homemade jam. They provided good gluten-free, lactose-free options, which is rarely the case.

We had a great time at this place in Sicily! Tiziana was such a lovely and welcoming host – super friendly and always happy to help with tips or anything we needed. The apartment was clean, cozy, and well equipped. One of our highlights was the pool in the backyard – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. It’s a peaceful spot and a great base to discover the area. We’d definitely come back.

Lovely staff, pool is great for breaks during hot days, beautiful common rooms and well planned rooms. Great to have a breakfast included!

The neighborhood in which the hotel is located is quite run down (compared to other parts of the city), given the price per night we expected the location to be better. No fridge in the room, only shared in common rooms.

We really enjoyed staying at B&B Porta Carolina. It’s tucked into the Kalsa neighborhood, which isn’t touristic but is an easy walk to all the main sites. It was only a 10 mins walk from the central train station to arrive there. And Just across the street from the beautiful botanical gardens. Roberta was so lovely and very helpful. The room was large and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend if you’re looking to have a true Palermo experience.

Loved the location, quiet but central. Restaurants, cafés and bakery close by. The interior is classic and authentic, the yard with the pool is a small oasis. Homemade breakfast with local goods is served every morning. Own food can be kept/prepared in a second kitchen. Most importantly: the hosts are simply amazing. We were welcomed warmly and felt right at home, very helpful and so friendly.

It was an old building in the historic port area. Down the street is the most fabulous bakery and gelato place. Everything is in walking distance. Great neighbourhood vibe. We were there for the feast of St Rosalea and the fireworks were fantastic.
