very convenient city center location, harbor and sights within walking distance room service very attentive and polite overall, however, a very nice, pleasant and luxurious hotel with very polite and attentive staff

breakfast plentiful, but incomprehensible why a fried egg or small breakfast supplements are charged extra in this hotel price category buying a second coffee machine would be a great investment, because the wait for a coffee was unusually long every morning and seemed complicated

The Staf showed great hospitality. From the point of view of luxurious, cleanss, and location the hotel was really really excellent.

Contrary to expectations from a five-star hotel in Italy, there was neither a coffee machine nor simple instant coffee powder in the room, and we had to request coffee from the hotel every day. And the breakfast of the hotel was not that of a 5-star hotel, even the simplest breakfast with eggs and omelette was not on the table, and unfortunately the breakfast was at the level of a 3-4 star hotel.

Room extremely comfortable and quiet. We were upgraded as we were staying 6 nights. Plenty of storage space. Good air cooling/heating. Bathroom excellent. Public rooms in hotel splendid. Desk staff excellent. Location of hotel good; access to old town/ city centre easy on foot. Several restaurants nearby - useful if you've been walking around all day and don't want to go far in the evenings!

The bed was a little hard for us. Breakfast service was a little hit and miss. Long delays and cold tea a couple of mornings. Shame as food and ambience excellent.

My flight arrived in the morning and the staff was able to accommodate me for an early check in right away. Throughout my stay, the reception staff was the nicest, most professional group of people. The hotel is gorgeous, elegant and well maintained. The breakfast buffet contained a large variety of delicious items. The restaurant served lunch and dinner and offered interesting Sicilian dishes; the staff there was most pleasant. The hotel made my stay in Palermo very special.

I had booked a comfort room and would have liked an armchair in the room. As such the only place to sit was the chair at the desk, so I did spend time downstairs in the gorgeous foyer.

Best breakfast we had - excellent options and too many to choose from. Public spaces are from another era - gorgeous and uplifting. GM of the restaurant was excellent as well as food being AMAZING - I wish we had eaten there again for dinner.

There was 1 employee at the front desk (maybe the manager?) with a moustache who seemed determined to be as unpleasant as possible as we checked in and asked if they had a room with 2 beds for my teenage sons instead of 1 bed to share. He was argumentative instead of finding a solution. Second instance with the same man - a friend came to meet us for a drink & dinner in the hotel and he would not let him in until passport etc was verified. This seemed onerous and downright Inhospitable.

We have stayed in this hotel several times so now it feels like home. The staff welcomes us with so much joy and care. We know most of them by name and they are all wonderful ! We love to stay in this hotel, the facilities and the rooms are great, location is prime! Right in the center of Palermo so we walk everywhere. The restaurants are excellent as well. The hotel is an historical landmark and it shows. The lobby, the bar, the restaurants, they are all beautiful. All the different rooms we have stayed in have been beautiful, with very large bathrooms, closets, welcome sweets, etc. When in Palermo we don’t give it a second thought. We stay at des Palmes !

Historic building, exceptionally well restored with spacious lounges with lots of large plants (many palm trees) and a beautiful bar with mirrored walls in Art Nouveau style. The room was comfortable, sound proof with black out curtains. Beds very comfortable. Enough outlets to charge phones and laptops.

The stairs from the entrance lobby to the lounge, bar & breakfast room has no railings. Very difficult to step down 6 steps for some. The only way around it is to exit at the back and walk around the side of the building.

Excellent location, lovely building, polite and helpful staff

Breakfast choices were limited especially for cooked breakfast. A la crate menu options were also limited. I expected much more from a five start hotel breakfast Also the room rate was expensive. So we’re beverages in the bar/restaurant area. I also didn’t like the fact that local taxes were added to the room bill when we checked out and I had thought that the price I had paid on booking.com included all local taxes. The second restaurant on the fifth floor seemed closed when we visited.

Breakfast was very nice. A pleasant bonus. Of course the staff were all exceptional.

The room was hot when we returned for our night's sleep. I understand that the AC goes off when you take the key to save energy, and that is fine. But it did take quite a while to cool down after we returned. The towel heater in the bathroom puts out a lot of heat and that adds to the problem. I wish the towel heater could be disabled by the customer based on preference to both save energy as well as not heat the room unnecessarily. But really a small matter and I would love to stay at this hotel again. It is amazing.

The service in the lobby was excellent. Breakfast was good. The Hotel is very well situated and close to many of the main tourist attractions. The hotel has been refurbished recently and our room was extremely comfortable, very quiet and effective a.c. and a great shower in a spacious bathroom.

Nothing at all was bad or even moderate, but we would have loved it if this city centre hotel had had a small open air patio or courtyard to serve snacks and drinks. There are many small restaurants and bars in neighbouring streets, and many of the streets are pedestrianised with tables in the street so this was not a big deal.
