The location was excellent, plenty of restaurants and shops beside the hotel. Within close proximity to all the major tourist attractions. No need to take the metro, just walk and discover beautiful Rome.

The things I liked the most during my stay were the breakfast because it had many options and it was not too expensive, the king sized bed that gave us a lot of room to sleep for both me and my boyfriend and I got to say and it maybe surprising but the hotel shampoo and body cream, but especially the shampoo that had no silicon in it. My scalp was very happy with it, my chevelure was shiny and bouncy and since that, I've been trying to purchase shampoo with no silicon in it, but I haven't quite found something that feel as good as the one I was using in the hotel room. Also, I want to say that the front desk manager that was doing day shift and speaking french was very responsive and accomodating. The first day, I told them that there was an issue with the shower door (and I've been working as a housekeeper in my younger years so I know it's not good for pre-usure + it can be a pain in the ass to walk into a bathroom with a floor full of water and clean the mess when you already have a lot on your plate) so anyway, the next day, someone was coming to fix it and we also got a free breakfast.

The mattress despite being quite big was a little too soft for my taste but I got to say I have a thoracic parade combined with snapping scapula and other joyful stuff that haven't gone away in the last tree years so it's always a trigger for me to find a mattress that I found THAT confortable. Otherwise, the gym section was a little smaller than I initially though but it is not a big issue since you are gonna walk a lot in a city like Rome and probably won't have that much juice left by the end of the day ;).

Location is great and surrounded by many restaurants and cafes and close to attractions; the staff are nice

"Do not purchase the hop-on-hop-off pink bus city tour from the hotel. I paid the guy at the reception 62 Euros and he gave me a pink slip. However, when I went with my family to the bus pickup point, they informed me that the slip was rejected and the money I paid was a commission. Therefore, I ended up paying 58 Euros again for 2 adults and 3 kids at the bus. The payment I made at the reception was completely wasted. So, I recommend downloading the app and purchasing your tickets through there instead.

Room was clean and comfortable. Had a refill bottle of water to use with water fountains in the hotel to refill when needed. Tea and coffee making facilities and in the bathroom were little toothbrushes in case you forgot etc. Breakfast was amazing! So much to choose from. There were pizzas, meatballs, rice, fish, scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes cakes and pastries, fruit and cereals and they made specialty coffee if you wanted.

Not the hotel’s fault but see we’re close to the train station there were a couple of homeless people laying nearby the hotel but the had security outside to try and keep them away.

The location was perfect for us. It was a 5 minute walk from the train and metro station, both of which we used. The room size was good with all amenities. We had a King comfort room which was plenty. The breakfast was plentiful with hot and cold buffet food and a really good choice daily. My husband had pancakes, his favourite. Everywhere was spotless. The staff were amazing, held our luggage securely due to an early flight before check in- special shout out to Anna one of the front desk staff. There were tavernas near by if you didn't want to venture too far.

nothing, everything was perfect would stay again if coming back to Rome.

The area around Termini station has a mixed reputation, but that turned out to be very unfair. The area is perfectly fine, the location is great, and the Hotel Universo turned out to be wonderful. I had a very nice room with a private balcony even. The area is busy and sometimes a bit noisy, but I did not have any problems to sleep. Actually, the beds (and pillows) are fantastic and I slept almost better than at home. The hotel equipment is very good, the staff is very friendly (e.g., I got an extension of the check-out time without any problem and the extra hour was extremely valuable), and the breakfast buffet is great. There also was a good atmosphere in the hotel.

I do not have anything to complain about. Well, the hotel price was rather high (mainly thanks to the Holy Year at the Vatican, I guess), but in line with all the other prices in other hotels in Rome for this period.

The reception staff were amazing and provided us with excellent service. I commend the hotel management for their wonderful, friendly staff.

With one small note: When we wanted to stay for a fifth night, the receptionist on that day unfortunately did not serve us as expected, even though the rooms were available. Breakfast unfortunately was not what we expected at all. The quality of the food was below average, there was no variety, the bread was not fresh, and the coffee was not up to the required standard. In addition to the matter, the service staff were unprofessional, especially the waiter who prepared the eggs. He had bad manners, was not clean, did not shave, and his clothes were shabby, and the same goes for the other waiters. I recommend staying at the hotel, but I do not recommend eating breakfast there.

Perfect location. Nice big and clean room with modern amenities. Good breakfast.

Pretty much no lobby, nowhere to sit if you want to spend an evening in the hotel. Small, slow elevators. The rooftop does not impress as there is no good view from it. Hotel imposed 3% tip on checkout that was shocking as the room rate was pretty high anyway comparing to similar hotels in the area (for example, nearby Starhotel Metropol). That was gross, taking into consideration that staff was not friendly (I asked about the upfront charge on my card that was much higher than the booking amount - received a pretty rude answer that I should not worry about that.)

Location to Roma Termini is very convenient. Room was a good size , with a comfortable bed. I have stayed at this hotel each time I have been in Rome, and this visit met expectations.

We were a group of 6, and one couple were very unhappy with their room as it was under the air conditioning units, so was too noisy to sleep. They asked for a change and were charged an extra 60 euros for 3 nights to do so. Their room had a double bed, I think the room allocations had been mixed up as it transpired later that a single in the group had a queen bed. The drains in my room were not smelling too great. The staff on the roof top bar were not particularly attentive to guests.

Everyone at the front desk provided quality customer service, very accommodating and welcoming. Special thanks to Ana for her attention to detail and for speaking such excellent English (very much appreciated). Our keycard, for both rooms, did not work at first attempt -but front desk was able to resolve quickly. Downside, there was only one keycard for two people to share (cumbersome when one person wants to leave the room – cannot take the key with you because the key runs the electric in the room). The rooms were clean. The heat/cool did not work very well, but they did sent someone up to take a look, he fixed -but the fix was temporary, next day later it failed again. Hotel is walking distance to hop-on/hop-off stop site. Hotel public spaces were very clean and the neighborhood felt safe. Elevators are tiny, two people with luggage and the car is full. The day/time we arrived, many food places were closed, but the front desk referred us to a nearby restaurant, Trattoria D'Azeglio – it was excellent – we ate there three times – great staff, delicious food.

The furniture in the lobby was very uncomfortable, very low to the floor making it difficult to get up.
