* a friendly little family-owned and run hotel across the road from the Rome Termini Railway station. * clean, safe, comfortable, and overwhelmingly welcoming. * From Trojan rushing to help me with my bags when I arrived, Danilo and Ruby’s excellent suggestions for walking routes to see the city, and Ruby’s warm farewell when I checked out, I really felt like a guest rather than a mere customer. * The owner Danilo was super-responsive and immediately fixed a maintenance issue in the bathroom. * when I left, one of the housekeeping staff Joshua even helped me with my luggage back to the station! * My room was simple, unglamorous & functional (but more comfortable than that of my much more expensive 4-star hotel in Venice), with a comfortable big bed, desk, cupboard, big TV & good aircon. The bathroom had a good-sized shower, toilet & bidet, and nice basin with a space for putting toiletries. * My room was generally quiet, with a window looked out onto other apartments. This gave an authentic feeling of living in Rome. * excellent location for me: less than 5 minutes walk from the train platform; right across the road from the Coop Supermarket and a post office. While the area around the central railway station of most European cities is usually a little rough, I felt perfectly safe day and night due to the constant presence of police and other security personnel. * within reasonable walking distance to all the main sights in Rome. eg. about 25-30 minutes to walk to any of the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps, and about 1hr to walk to the Vatican City — though I was pleased I took the Ruby's advice and strolled through the beautiful Villa Borghese Gardens to see the Vatican (about 90 mins). * Buses and the Metro leave from the station for those who prefer public transport and/or want to get to the sights faster.

* people with mobility issues should know that there are some steps on the ground floor before you reach the lift. * some of the other guests were a bit noisy coming and going (though the hotel did encourage people to be considerate). * sometimes there was loud music playing in reception, which I could hear from my room.

The hotel is located in an old building. It looks more like a normal old apartment house. Once in the room everything is very good. Big rooms, simple and very clean. Beds were comfortable. The hotel is just in front of the train and bus station. Very easy to get there and close to main monuments. The team at the reception of the hotel is very friendly and helps on everything you need.

The entrance to the building is strange. Signs of the hotel are small and makes you feel a bit lost when looking for the reception.

The room had everything I needed. I was able to leave my luggage after checkout and was offered free hot drinks and water which was greatly appreciated by me. The staff were very friendly and let me know I could stay in the communal area while I was waiting for my flight. Plus, reception gave me a voucher for free breakfast at a local cafe. Overall I had a wonderful experience here and would undoubtedly stay again

It was a bit loud in the mornings, but this can be helped by the use of earplugs

Very good location, only a few minutes away from Termini station. The room was so clean. The staffs are very friendly and gave me some advice for my travel.

It could have been better if there was any lift in the annex too, but the building itself is old so I cannot complain about it.

Location and price were the reasons for choosing Hotel Ciao. Turned out to be a great choice. Directly across from the main Termni Station on the better side, we were in an excellent location for exploring the city. The room was a good size, clean and came with a fridge. Water and snacks were on the house and were replenished daily. The room was serviced daily even after we said it wasn't necessary. We were greeted by the owner upon arrival, not sure if we have experienced a more pleasant reception. Also, on that note, we had the pleasure of dealing with Ruby on numerous occasions who could run a clinic on customer service.

Not a complaint but more of a heads up. Once you find the hotel, there is a plaque outside, you will be buzzed in. Do not be concerned on first impressions. Once you make your way up two flights (or take the elevator) you will find the reception. There you will be pleasantly surprised and reassured you made a good choice.

Reception SUPER, SUPER, friendly. Showed us right away on the map what we could do, wherre to go, good restaurantes, etc etc. Was the friendliest receptionist we ever encoutered. But, the second day it was a gentlemen, and he was equally as friendly. The also had a coffee machine with free coffee for guests for use at any time and water machines in the reception area and multiuse room too. Our room was super clean - beds made every day. Right in front of the train. We walked everywhere - pretty easy to around. If you use the hop on hop off busses (about 4 companies operate in Rome) one of their stops is right by the trains station too. Convenient.

Have nothing to dislike.

Honestly can’t believe this is a 1 star hotel. I’ve stayed in worse 3 & 4 star hotels!! The room was exceptionally clean and spacious and the hotel is located right beside the train station. The staff are amazing too! Very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about Rome and how to navigate about the place.

The only small downside is the very busy road facing the front of the hotel although to be fair, I was only really woken one morning by the busy traffic/ constant horn beeping! (Why tf do they all do that??? The traffic isn’t gonna go any quicker with your beeping ffs)

Even though I arrived at the hotel a few hours early, the receptionist kindly arranged for me to check in at 11 AM instead of 2 PM and also stored my bag in a locker. The room is located just two minutes from the main building and is quite comfortable for a solo traveler. The bathroom was newly renovated and very convenient. The room had all the basic amenities needed. To reach the number, you have to overcome the adventures of Fort Boyard!))) To get to the room, you need to open four doors, but don’t worry—you’ll figure it out!))). Check-out was extended by an hour, allowing me to leave at 11 AM instead of 10 AM. Overall, I am satisfied and grateful to the staff for their hospitality.

In the summer, it was hot. I requested to provide a space for changing clothes. They gladly provided it after check-out. It was really thankful.

The building was pretty old. And it was hard to find the front desk. Because it was not in the first floor. And it was unfamilar to first time visitor or a person unfamiliar with the culture.

Very near Termini Sation and metro, so walked to to the Hotel. When i arrived I buzzed at the door, the rception was on 2nd Floor. One of the most important things is good customer service. The recepetionists speak english and were always friendly with a smile. The place is very clean and modern. It has a shop across the room and many places to eat near by.

It something that can't be change but I would still go back to stay. You have a separate bathroom outside your room that only you have key too. I have stayed at other places in Italy and these people were so nice.
