The hotel is situated right close to the main train station in Rome. It is probably an apartment turned into a hotel. The staff is nice, but Mr.Nicola is the best absolutely. The hotel is good for the price, but nothing special unfortunately.

The bed was a twin one, not a doubble one. Make sure you check before you book. The twin beds (two single beds close to one another) are not comfortable at all, they keep sliding sideways. I kept finding myself in the middle of the clivage all night long.

Very nice and helpful staff. Clean and spacious rooms; comfortable beds. Good location, well connected: some tourist point reachable by walk, others with public transportation - stations at 5 mins from the hotel, bus/metro/tram/train. Many restaurants in the near, plus (at least) one supermarket.

Noisy location; could not keep our window open. An unusual payment policy: as the amount to be paid was only blocked on my card, on arrival they asked me if I want to actually pay with the card or I prefer cash. I've chosen the 1st option and than the receptionist literally took my card in his hand and entered its information in a machine (in order to actually retrieve the amount ). I don't find this approach secure for me and I recommend to the hotel to make a quick change on it. Not to tell that if I would have not the card with me (the vacation could have been a gift, for example) - I assume that the entire process would have been even more complicated.

Breakfast was adequate for standards in Rome. Coffee is not warm enough for me, I had to mix it with hot water. Breakfast consists of croissants, sliced bread you can toast, slices of ham, cheese and salami. Some cereals. Location of hotel was very good for our needs. We rode the Metro everywhere and the hotel is only 2 blocks from Termini Station. Lots of restaurants around the hotel and some small grocery stores too! There is also a McDonalds (if you prefer) and a KFC (which it was always busy). The room was a good size but did not have any type of chest with drawers only a place to hang some clothes. Pillows were very good. Bathroom was small but worked. for us. Suitcases had to be on the floor. No air conditioning but weather was cool and did not need it. It has a small elevator. Housekeeping with fine.

Bed was very hard but don't know if that is common in Rome. No place to put anything in the room. Only a table and chair and a place to hang some clothes. Lots of noise from a courtyard. We slept with the window open since the hotel did not have air conditioning. You could smell the cigarette smoke coming from the courtyard. There was some kind of noise coming from one of the wall like water coming down from a pipe. Very strange.

The location was great, near central trainstation, very good connections with the whole city and within close walking distance to several objectives. Fresh room, not so big, but it worked for a few days. Friendly staff both in the reception and the breakfast hall.

Breakfast was with very limited options, mostly sweets and pastries, very little too choose if u do not have a sweet tooth early in the morning. The beds were as hard as wood, certainly good for some, but definitely not so confortable for some of us that don't usualy like sleeping on wood floors. One afternoon of our 4 days stay and the morning after no hot water at all...disapointing with cold showers...

Good location, close to Termini, a lot of restaurants and kiosks around. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived too early and the room was already ready. The room was clean and the housekeeping refreshed the room every day. Beds were hard - I am writing this in both sections as it was a plus for me but a minus for my niece. :)

Had to hand in the key everytime we left the premises, which I thought was odd.. They only had one key so when my niece arrived, I had to be home to let her in as she could not get another key. Breakfast was dissapointing. A lot of sweets, cakes and sugary drinks, only white bread, little nutritious value, no protein. Beds were hard - I am writing this in both sections as it was a plus for me but a minus for my niece. :)

Very close to the Termine so it is very convenient when you need to catch trains. Breakfast is included so also a plus. The concierge was very nice and accomodating

My only qualm was during breakfast, I came downstairs alone while my mom stayed in the room with my sick toddler, and as I was walking out of the breakfast hall with a small scone to bring to my 2 year old daughter in the room (because she was sick), one of the servers yelled at me to stop and almost tackled me, and made a scene like I was stealing valuables, and told me I had to eat the scone there in her line or sight or leave it behind, I couldn’t take it upstairs, the whole thing was ridiculous. I was forced to bring my sick daughter to the dinning room so she could have something to eat

The hotel is located in a proximity of the Termini station (train, bus, metro). Historical part of Rome is really in walking distance from the hotel. There are many restaurants in the street, where the hotel is located. Staff at the reception was very helpful, we were able to do an earlier check-in, leave the laggage in the hotel locker and they called taxi for us). The rooms are smaller, but nice equipped, the bathroom is excellent - made of marble. Everything was clean. Breakfats was suffiecient.

There is just one thing to improve, it is about the beds. The matrace is soft and convenient, but it has a tendency to fall down from the ned lower contruction.

Location of hotel was fantastic, a lot of small restaurants/taverns around and many more. sightseeing was also close enough to walk around 20 minutes to go to center area which was great as well. 5-10 mimutes from bus drop off from the airport. Brealfast was okay-ish, dont expect a lot of options but for the price is more than enough. For me i prefere to had a small bite in the morning prio getting out to try more while exploring the city. The room was really modern and very clean, the size was really good and bathroom was one of the best i ve seen on this price. I prefer modern walk ins therefore that was a nice touch. The reception is keeping your card/key when going out which is convinient and there is 24hour service therefore yoh will always get it and that gave me a bit of peace of mind.

The bed mattress was a bit stiff, probably very new, hence wasnt the best but was able to sleep just fine.

We stayed at Hotel Contilia for seven days in August. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade upon arrival, which was a wonderful start to our stay. The room was well-appointed with everything we needed. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to assist and provide excellent service. The breakfast was also satisfying, with a good selection that kept us full. The location is very central, just a short walk from Roma Termini, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are very happy that we chose to book with them.

Hotel Contilia did not disappoint. Our room provided both space and privacy for three adults, and value for the money is spot on. The breakfast was plentiful, the staff helpful and the location was super convenient to the central attractions and the train station, with plenty of good restaurants around. If you're looking for a budget-friendly old-charm hotel you can't go wrong with this choice.
