I've stayed at many hotels in Rome, from SLH hotels to 3-star hotels to the airport hotel. Hotel Damaso surprised and delighted me. I think it's classified as a 3-star, but it definitely over-delivers. First, location. It's located between Piazza Navona and Campo di'Fiori, within a couple of blocks' walking distance of both. The location is arguably as central as it gets if you like to walk to the Vatican, Ancient Rome, Borghese, Trastevere, Prati, etc. While it's located on a large street, it's actually quieter overnight than hotels located on smaller and more intimate streets because there aren't late-night crowds walking immediately outside. Second, people. The front-desk staff and the breakfast room staff were lovely and kind, focused on ensuring a pleasant stay. Third, room. The regular King/Deluxe room was modestly sized, but because the space was so well-designed, it not only had beautiful form but was highly functional for two people, luggage, etc. Well stocked mini fridge with reasonable prices, large complementary bottle of water and delicious bag of artisanal biscotti from Etico. The bathroom was huge and sparkling clean, good water pressure in shower, bidet, lots of shelf space. Comfy robes and slippers. Fourth, breakfast. Included in my room rate. Excellent buffet with hot and cold options. Lovely bright room with lots of seating. Finally, value. At 70% of the room rate of 5-star hotels in the area, and 85-90% of the service offerings, Hotel Damaso was a great value.

I wish every hotel had a gym, so same goes for this one.

Location is fantastic. So easy to walk to all the main tourist attractions with lots of great restaurants close to hand. Room was a little on the small side but nicely decorated and quiet despite being at the front of the hotel. Staff were all very pleasant and breakfast was good to set us up for the day. I imagine the roof terrace would be great in the summer months. I would definitely recommend.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The view from Rooftop bar is wonderful! We stayed for 4 nights and each day they gave us complementary snacks and water. Breakfast was really good and has a lot of variety. Location is very nice. Also taxi stand is across from the hotel. Overall I really enjoyed staying this hotel.

Rooms are clean, layout makes it bigger, desk is big enough to hold a lot of stuff. Within walking distance to Pantheon, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Vittoriano monument, restaurants and shopping.

Hard to find as it does not have a distinctive or big sign on its building or even the door. The morning front desk and housekeeping staff are friendly and accommodating. The late afternoon front desk guy was not as friendly.

I thought the staff were excellent -- incredibly communicative and helpful! It was also very nice and quiet, and breakfast was great.

Our phone in the room did not seem to work. I tried to call the front desk but failed.

Excellent location, beautiful elegant rooms, very clean and the friendly staff made us feel very welcome. There is a drinking water fountain right in front of the entrance door.

The beds were extra firm but still were able to rest comfortably.

Everything was excellent! I highly recommend this hotel! - Location: is in the center of Rome. It is very close to all the city's objectives. - Room: very beautiful and clean - Breakfast: very good, diversified, excellent coffee - We were always helped by the employees when we needed anything. They were very kind! We spent New Year's Eve in Rome, and the hotel offered us the chance to see the fireworks on the hotel terrace with a glass of prosecco. It was a pleasant moment and we appreciate it.

Nothing to say

Perfectly located, and lovely decoration in the hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and bathrooms clean.

Our first room on the 2nd floor was a little loud as it faced the main road and busses etc passed underneath the window, but the manager was very accommodating and moved us to a higher floor which was quieter. In the room, ours could've done with a little more storage as for a couple staying 3 days there wasn't much cupboard space.

Lovely hotel and small and compact. Most of the staff were super helpful and polite.

One of the staff members in the morning needs to look for a different job and just rather unpleasant.

The location was perfect, really close to Piazza Navona and Pantheon. Some great restaurants right on the corner. The room was new, comfortable and spacious, as well as the bathroom. The air conditioning (we were there in August) was excellent. The staff was also a highlight: they gave us restaurant recommendations, helped with taxis and were really friendly at all times. Would definitely recommend Damaso!

The showers pressure could be better, but that’s the my only concern
