The hotel was a little haven in the hot Rome summer - comfortable, cool and very decent in terms of facilities. Room was a good size for a small city hotel and shower was great. Air-con was very reliable!! Excellent location close to Vatican but only 20mins walk to the Centro Storico and 30 to Gianicolo and Trastevere, and the same to Piazza del Popolo and Tridente. Close to metro too if heading for the Roman sites at Colosseo. Great local restaurants if you look beyond the tourist traps but right next door to a gelateria, a tiramisu shop and a mini-mart selling soft drinks at a good price. Staff were all amazing and kind and always smiling. Breakfast was fine - plentiful and typical for a small European hotel with amazing coffee that is freshly made and Italian-strength! Would stay again here without a doubt. Given location the price I felt was also reasonable.

The room is excellent, so it the bed. The sofa is also very comfortable and the TV is compatible with Netflix/youtube free of charge (although you do not go there to watch TV!!!). The mirror in the room is very nice. The hotel is in a very quiet location despite the fact that it is close to the historical center. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful.

The location was so great-- just a few hundred meters from St. Peter's square, and about a 10 minute walk from the Metro stop, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, which we loved. It was so nice to be able to step outside and have 10+ places to eat within just a minute or so walk. Transportation was also good-- lots of buses near the river outside St. Peter's square, or the nearby Piazza del Risorgimento-- a couple buses go directly from there to the Colosseum, which we really appreciated! The room was spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage and a couch to lay/sit on, plus a lovely window view of the nearby buildings. Wifi was strong, and there was a TV, minifridge, and kettle in the room. There is also a very European-sized (read: tiny) elevator, which was very nice when carrying suitcases up to the room. You can also leave your luggage if you check in early, or for the day after you check out if you're still exploring. Oh and there's a nice outdoor space in the courtyard which was shady and cool, although there were mosquitos and flies, so be warned. Overall, we had a really nice stay at Anna Hotel and would recommend it to people who are looking for a quiet place to stay near restaurants and cafes. It is not in the middle of the tourist spaces on the other side of the river, but we appreciated that! Also, the staff were all so lovely and kind and helpful.

The bed was a little hard, but that's fairly typical for Europe, so not much to be done, there. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, so we skipped it and opted for a nearby cafe for a typical Italian breakfast (coffee and a pastry). If you want something a little heartier, or you want eggs or something, the breakfast might be worth it. The A/C worked, but it was not very strong, so just something to know if you're planning for a very hot month. It was okay for us; temperatures were in the low 80s and it was semi humid, but I would imagine it might be harder during a hotter time.

Had a great stay at Hotel S. Anna. It is a perfect location for Vatican Museum, St. Peter’s, Sistine Chapel and Castel Sant’Angelo. Walk to other sites like Trevi or Palatine Hill is about 30-40 mins or a quick cab/bus ride. The room option we had was well suited for our family (parents & 2 later teens). Front desk was very helpful. We actually extended our stay one day due to change in travel arrangements, which was fortunately available and easy to do (same room). Nice shuttle to airport option available. Arlu restaurant and gelateria literally right out front are outstanding! A really nice place and good value that has a real feel of Rome.

Bedroom was very clean and comfortable (although lots of mirrors!); staff were all helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts had lots of choice. If we were here in summer we would definitely have used the small patio garden. Location, right by Vatican, is excellent, although buses and metro always involved a longish walk one end or the other. We really enjoyed the local restaurants (Passepartout, Passetto di Borgo and Tonnarello around the corner). Plus tea time treats from the Gelateria just next door and Caffeteria di Borgio.

The room was small with few drawers. The period between Christmas and New Year is peak busy time in Rome. So, the price of 240EUR/206GBP per night (including local taxes and with a Booking.com discount) is more than we usually pay for a small double.

It was staffed by a kind woman upon checkin who helped us out a lot with recommendations and a lovely room. The location is a block to St. Peter Basillica so that was exceptionally cool. There is an amazing Gelateria next door to the right when leaving the lobby. And an excellent ristorante to the left when walking out the lobby door of S. Anna Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the head Chef was very kind. Grazie Mille!

Location itself is a tourist area. Busy. It was tough to get a cab to/from this location and led to some stress getting to and leaving the hotel. The stay itself was excellent Do not eat at the Bistro at the top of the street across from McDonald’s. Just drinks was outrageous and the staff made us uncomfortable. Mistakes were made.

Location matters! Where you stay determines your experience of the city. Hotel S Anna is bang in the centre of all your landmarks with a 5 minute walk to St Peters Basilica. The hotel itself is fabulous and deserves every one of it's 5 stars. The room has a wow factor and the service was exceptional. We'll definitely be coming back to stay when we visit Rome again and we definitely recommend Hotel S Anna to stay if you are planning a trip. A big thank you for looking after us so well! :D

Lovely clean comfortable quirky hotel within a few minutes walking distance of the Vatican City.the rooms were clean comfortable and the housekeeping staff were very obliging. A good breakfast with an excellent selection of food was included in the price. The concierges on the door were extremely kind helpful polite and obliging in helping us arrange taxis and in giving advice about places to visit and various concert venues.

I cannot fault the hotel as everything was excellent but Rome itself was a disappointment as it was far too busy hot and overcrowded making it extremely difficult to visit places of interest, especially the Cistine Chapel and Vatican museum.

The room was clean and very spacious. Very nice and large bathroom and comfortable bed. Also we arrived early at 11.30am hoping to be able to drop our bags off until our room was ready however we were allowed to enter the room at that time without an additional charge which was superb. Breakfast was very nice the following morning too. Highly Recommend

The only minor negative due to the age of the building there is some noise from adjacent rooms however this was not detrimental to my enjoyment or sleep.

I can’t say enough about this property! It was a wonderful experience! The small hotel sits on a street that is quintessential Italy. There’s a gelato spot next-door, multiple restaurants with outdoor seating. The hotel was beautifully maintained. And our room was fabulous. It was steps from the Vatican. We have stayed at a lot of places in Italy and this is the one that I would recommend over any other.
