The hotel is very well situated, in a great area with lots of shops, restaurants and cafe/bars and an easy walk to many sites. The room (a superior single with balcony) was compact but was enough for a three day stay. It was clean and equipped with the basics. As someone traveling alone I felt safe and well situated. Breakfast wasn’t included in my booking but the hotel reception kindly recommended a nearby cafe which opens early and offers great coffee and a good selection of breakfast options.

I have no complaints about my stay, it was comfortable, the staff were amiable and the location was excellent. I would simply caution, there is no lift and no one offered to help with luggage so make sure you’re comfortable carrying your belongings up three flights of stairs.

Great location! Nightlife is around, but the windows of my room looked out onto a quiet courtyard and therefore I fell asleep in the evening without any problems. The hotel staff were friendly, gave me a map and marked the main attractions on it. Bed with excellent mattress, clean linen. The atmosphere and spirit of an old house!

I lived on the top floor and perhaps that’s why there were slight difficulties with hot water: I had to turn it on and wait a little before the hot water started flowing. In addition, there were difficulties with the toilet flushing (it was rather weak). I would also like to note very good audibility. It’s good that the person in the next room only snored and did not sing songs :)

The location is perfect, close to lots of restaurants, bars and shops whilst also being extremely quiet on an evening. We loved the spiral staircase! The bed was very comfortable and the AC kept our room a nice temperature. The staff were always friendly and accommodating too - they even left us a gift in our room to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary which was a lovely touch!

The shower cubicle was quite small but not a major issue. We were unable to plug our travel adaptors in next to the beds due to the wooden framing so had to use the plugs under the TV, but again, not a major issue - just some food for thought! 😊

I wish it was prominent that there is no elevator. I had booked a superior single room with a balcony and a view but that room was on the 4th FL without an elevator. I have replaced knees. So I was given a room on the 2nd FL with no change in cost. Breakfast is served in your room so you don't get to meet other guests. It is a good location to enable seeing sites near that area. It is very clean and the staff is helpful, but the front desk is not open 11 pm to 7 am. I had to leave at 5 am and they booked me a taxi which was prompt and very good service. The hotel also gave me breakfast the evening before that I kept in the small fridge in the room. That was very nice and helped in the am with my early departure.

That there was no elevator.

When I arrived late in Rome in the evening, the reception called me to check I was still arriving to ensure I didn't miss them for checking in, as the front desk closes at 11pm (once you are checked in of course you can come and go at any time of the day). I appreciated this as I can't think of a more stressful experience than showing up to a hotel and finding you're unable to check in, late at night. The staff that I spoke to were absolutely brilliant. One of the staff at the front desk, Islam, gave me excellent recommendations for where to eat, and helped me book the entry to a site I wanted to see (there are a number of tour operators and it's easy to book something you may end up paying more for than you need). Another staff member at the front desk, whose name I didn't get, helped me book a train ticket on to Naples, and took the time to look at the costs on different operators, at different times, and compare travel times etc. Both were fantastic. The room itself was quite large! It had a funny layout, I assume because it's an old building. The bed was just a single bed, but was totally comfortable and adequate as I was travelling solo. The decor is slightly dated, but I found that quite charming to be honest. The location is right in the heart of the old city, very close to lots of lovely bars, restaurants and cafes. Finding it is a slight challenge, as the streets of the old city are quite twisty and meander, and depending on which direction you come from you may end up having to go down quite narrow and unlikely alleys. That's just Rome! But I'd recommend making sure you have internet access on your phone to make finding your way there as painless as possible.

I think the only criticism I have of the room is that there were only two electricity outlets, and both were far from the bed. After a long day out exploring, coming back and needing to charge the phone, but also check in with friends, read the news, look at social media - it meant having to either sit at the small desk when what you really want to do is sit in bed, or having to put down your phone for an hour while it charges so you can do all that comfortably once it's charged.

Property was central and clean

The first day I arrived, I accidentally forgot my room card inside and it was 11:30PM. So I called the emergency number provided and someone (I assume the owner) picked up. I said I need to go in as I locked my self out accidentally. He wasn’t very happy about it and started muffling words under his breath as is he was so annoyed. He ended up letting me in but def an unpleasant experience. I felt horrible.

Location is absolutely fantastic, right near piazza Navona, staff are very helpful, so much so we have booked more nights

No lift, can be challenging with luggage, rooms could use a few upgrades, but a great place to stay! Staff are great.

The hotel was lovely authentic hotel but beware of the stairs! There are 4 floors and no elevator. It was like being in a merchant Ivory film, charming, not modern. Breakfast is served in your room which is fine, but its very basic - selected from a menu sheet given by reception. Rooms clean and comfortable

I had booked a superior double with balcony, but changed my room on arrival as it was on the top floor (under the roof tiles) was very hot and the stairs weren't for me at my age!

Fantastic location. Spotless. Very comfortable and the lady at reception was so helpful in helping us organise transport to Civitavecchia port for our cruise the following morning.

The only thing is due to the age of the building there is no lift so it is quite difficult when you’re on the top floor with heavy suitcases. Now they did offer to keep our bags at reception but that’s not really an option when you need stuff from your suitcase. However it is a beautiful staircase

I loved my stay at Teatro Pace! I had a super cute single room which was ideal for a solo traveller. The location is great next to Piazza Navona, tons of restaurants within a 2 minute walk including an excellent pizza slice place right at the end of the street. Very easy to walk to the major sights of Rome. The street is quiet at night and I felt safe walking around after dark The balcony is lovely and had a great view over the rooftops with birds chirping in the morning. Super comfortable bed and pillows, clean towels and hot shower. Highly recommend, especially for female solo travellers.

The stairs are beautiful but not at all suitable if you have any type of mobility issues.
