OTTAVIANO GUEST HOUSE is located perfectly only less than 10 minutes walking distance to the Vatican and St. Peter's Square. There is 2 small kiosk style supermarkets at Via Germanico as well as a couple of good, reasonably priced restaurants, bars, pubs. Public transportation works well in general (but in August, of course). From Metro station OTTAVIANO or LEPANTO you get to Roma-Termini in about 15 minutes. The receptionist received some excellent reviews regarding professionalism and kindness. Righly so!

The beds are typical Italian style (not very comfortable and only basic bed sheets). Northern Europeans may find it difficult to adapt to these bed standards

It was clean, cool—the AC worked great in Aug/Sep—and roomy. There were 2 beds for me and my Dad and we had room to get around. There’s a lift, which my 70-yr old father liked, but it’s only 2 floors up. Super close to the Vatican. It was easy to get around on buses and the subway.

Not the hotel’s fault, but I purposefully booked this hotel because it was close to the subway, but there is A LOT of construction currently going on on all the streets around the hotel and the closest subway stop was closed while we were there. It’ll look great when it’s all finished, but as of Sep 9, 2024, there were fences and construction happening all around the hotel so it didn’t look as nice in the area and it made it harder to get around.

One of the best spots in Rome: just northeast of Vatican City, two blocks from the Metro station and bus links, and in an area with many restaurants and coffee shops that are just far enough away from the Vatican to not be focused solely on the quick breakfast and lunch trade. The room, in an attractive 19th century (I believe) building, was very reasonably priced, spacious, nicely furnished, scrupulously clean, and (critical in July) had a well-working air conditioner. Although the block of Via Germanico the guesthouse is on has several busy restaurants, the insulated windows kept the room quiet. It was a five- to ten-minute walk from a good self-service laundry, barbers, and a pharmacy, and even the little convenience store at the end of the block was decent. It's hard to imagine anything better.

The guest house is an apartment in a 19th century block of flats. There is an efficient lift. The rooms are fitted with double glazed windows and shutters so there is no disturbance from the street outside. It does not provide breakfast, however, the room is provided with a small fridge and a kettle and mug plus a few teabags and instant coffee bags. Milk, fruit and snacks can be purchased from a small mini-market nearby. The bed was very comfortable. The shower room was quite spacious and the towels were good quality and seemed new. There was a table for writing, good lighting, a good sized waste paper basket and plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe. The host was helpful and welcoming and the room was very clean. The guest house is an ideal location for the Vatican Museum or St Peter' Basilica. and would be perfect base either for a tourist, as I was, or for a scholar studying in the Vatican library,

It was expensive for one person. The room is furnished with a double bed and the charge per room is almost the same for one person as for two. For a couple it would have seemed a far more reasonable cost

The hotel is only a 5-minutes walk from Piazza San Pietro or the entrance of Musei Vaticani. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There's a lesser-known bus line that connects Ottaviano and Fiumicino airport (just ask them before arriving in Rome). The rooms are cleaned daily. A restaurant is just across the street, with many others in the vicinity. It's definitely worth coming again!

The metro line from Termini towards Ottaviano was closed due to extensive repairs.

Very helpful staff, they agreed to wait for us even though we had late flight and had trouble with taxi. This hotel has an excellent location with a lot of local cafe and obviously just 5 minutes from Vatican. I would definitely stay here again!

Door in the bathroom was very hard to close and water in the toilet tank was running until we figured out you need to press flash button twice to stop it

Spacious room with high ceilings, closet and large bathroom. The location is great, being just a couple of blocks from the Vatican Museum, with many restaurants and cafes in this quieter area.

Since the air conditioning was not yet turned on for the season, we had to open the windows to cool the room. Our room faced the inner courtyard and we could hear loud talking from the other apartments and an entrance door that loudly slammed shut every time someone opened it.

Excellent location, clean and well-equipped room on Via Germanico close to the Vatican Museum, many restaurants, cafes etc as well as the Ottaviano Metro. The guest house is on the second floor of a larger apartment building; an elevator is available for guests to use. The room has a fully opening window and independently operated air conditioning.

The accommodation comprises a series of rooms. Whilst the room was comfortable, it should be noted that this is not a ‘guest house’ per se that offers alternate guest ammenities.

Fabulous location - 2 minute walk from metro (straight line from Termini) and short walk to St Peter's Basilica. Surrounded by restaurants and eateries. Felt incredibly safe in this neighbourhood, even when returning late. Reception is not 24 hrs, but will be available at your time of arrival. Incredibly friendly and made every effort to explain the functions of the room (e.g air conditioning etc). AC worked very well as did the other amenities. Extremely clean with a lovely large shower. Room itself is quite small, but for the location and the price, it was extrmely good value for money. Highly recommended for location, comfort, cleanliness and helpfulness of the owner.

Nothing - excellent value for money at the time of year we visited.

The staff was very helpful, Massimo was great on check in. He gave us great restaurant recommendations. He was very attentive and also helped us book the taxi to the airport. The Guesthouse location is perfect, just a few minutes away from Vatican city, you don't need to use any transport, just walk.

The state of the room was a little outdated, but functional and clean.
