The valley view from the room was superb. Staff on reception were very helpful. Good breakfast with again beautiful views. Charming building in a fantastic location at the heart of the town. Very close to restaurants, bars, ice cream shops etc

A kettle is not automatically provided or offered but can be requested at reception, although we had to acquire cups ourselves from the dining room. It would be good if this had been offered on arrival.

We had seen this hotel a couple of times while visiting San Gimignano, and this was our first time staying for two nights. The room was stylish and spacious. There are some small things that could be improved (e.g., the bright light from the “exit” sign that bothered us while sleeping, the noisy refrigerator, and the heating that was turned off every night and we had to ask to be turned back on), but overall it was a very pleasant stay. We especially appreciated the clear instructions for entering the ZTL zone to drop off our luggage — unlike in Florence, where we had to walk 1.5 km with heavy bags — and the convenient parking.

Hotel La Cisterna was perfect-we had an incredible view from our balcony looking over the Tuscan hills. Our room was spacious and clean, great storage and hanging space with a big bathroom . Location was right on Piazza Della Cisterna. We could drive our car into the piazza to drop off our luggage- luckily we had a little car for the narrow streets. Alessio and Carina were helpful and lovely

Breakfast was 7.30-9.45-we got there at 8 and choices were limited with most of the food gone and not replenished

Location & view were absolutely fantastic. The room had recently been refurbished and had a balcony, chair & table to sit at outside. Weather was very warm so unfortunately I didn't use the outside balcony during my visit. The room was very comfortable but just a little small.

Some of the neighbours were a little noisy during my stay but overall not too bad. There were no instructions for the TV and I could only watch Italian TV with no English subtitles. I did try and fiddle with the settings but I couldn't work out how to do it.

Staff were charming. There is a wonderful view from the dining room. Breakfast with cappuccino and croissants and cake and fruit and muesli and boiled eggs, etc, was a pleasurable experience.

This applies to all restaurants in San Giminagno. Carnivores are lavishly catered for. Pescatarians and vegetarians have very limited choice. In some places, the mains list is entirely meaty. If you love boar, you'll be in paradise.

Typical Tuscan hotel in the main square of town. Restaurant upstairs with fabulous views over the town/countryside. Open for breakfast & lunch. (not dinner) Restaurant also on the ground floor. Good breakfast selection. Staff very helpful

Not that easy to arrive without a car. We took a train to Poggibonsi, but no taxi's available. So took a bus to the city walls of San Gen. (no 130/133) then walked to the hotel up a steep cobbled hill. Hotel does not a have courtesy bus. There are also buses to Siena. However, on a Sunday morning, travel by bus/train is very difficult, so plan your stay to avoid using public transport on a Sunday morning.

Exceptional location with balcony overlooking the piazza. Had historical hotel feel. Breakfast staff were very accommodating with great views overlooking the valley. Dinner experiences were excellent. Very helpful emails prior to our visit to outline directions, how to drop off luggage and parking. It is an adventure to drive your car into a medieval walled city to drop off suitcases.

No coffee in room, so we had to wait until the breakfast room opened.

Hotel was in a great location off the main square and our room with balcony had a nice view over the rooftops to the valley so good for a 1 night visit. The hotel itself was older in style with a small 60’s lift which was kind of fun but the room was a little smaller than others we have had in our Tuscany tour and whilst perfectly helpful when asked other hotel staff have been more proactively engaging on arrival.

Beautiful well appointed room and bathroom with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We stayed in a room overlooking the square. I thought it might have been a bit noisy but the windows shut out any sounds so we had an uninterrupted sleep in the most comfortable beds! We had breakfast in the restaurant with views over the open countryside which we loved. The selection of home baked cakes were lovely.

Nothing! It was superb! Make sure you park in car park 2. It’s the closest to the hotel.

We liked everything we just wish that the room had kettle and cups for tea. We also wished that breakfast had more cheese and olive options. But these are not deal breakers. If we come back we would stay in the same room again.
