When visiting a few years ago I saw this hotel and said we’ll come back and stay here. It didn’t disappoint. Fantastic location right in the heart of San Gimignano, you can’t get any closer to the main areas. Very helpful and friendly staff who assistance went above and beyond. An early check in and help with transport for elderly parents was much appreciated. The room on the top floor overlooking the city square was beautiful. Despite the room overlooking the square we didn’t hear any noise. Breakfast provides for every dietary requirements and was tasty. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Loved everything

My room is clean, the size is adequate. The view is beautiful looking out the countryside despite the sight of a tall crane working on a tall building close by. The staffs are friendly. The location is central and is close to everything. The walking paths outside the city wall is close by, the view of the tuscany countryside, the rolling hills and the fog, it's feast for the eyes. This hotel is perfect in terms of its comfort, price, friendliness, and location. I had the best time staying there in San gimignano. Oh I get to see sunrise too. It's beautiful.

I was there 3 nights, sometimes I felt a bit humid in the room and hence a mild musty smell when I closed the window and turned on air-conditioning when it's dark out. The walking route to the hotel from bus stop is about 5 min, dragging a heavy luggage is quite difficult, it''ll be about 10 min or more due to the uneven stoned pavement and a slight incline. There's no taxi in San gimignano, only private hires which the hotel can certainly help to get one if you need it.

What a fantastic hotel! Incredible location, overlooking the square is perfect for a magical vacation, and the hospitality and service matched the beauty of the hotel. The hotel is directly in the middle of the town, so everything is easily accessible from that location. We had a lot of rain, so it was great to be able to get back to the hotel quickly if we needed to. The staff was great about helping with parking directions, the breakfast was excellent and we absolutely loved this charming hotel. We'd go back in a heartbeat and can't recommend this Hotel Leon Bianco enough!

We loved San Gimignano and the location of the hotel was perfect - in the square, but quiet. The room was a little basic (but we really can’t complain given the price!) but clean, comfortable and roomy. We had a garden view which was great as we overlooked the stunning countryside. The staff were lovely - very accommodating, polite and professional. If (when!) we return to San Gimignano, we would definitely stay at Leon Bianco.

We felt that the breakfast was disappointing- a bit basic, not a great or wide selection and as a vegetarian, there wasn’t a great deal of choice.

Perfect location in the center of San Gimignano. It’s a beautiful historic property with modern amenities. Our room and bathroom were large and comfortable. We had a lovely view of the hills in the distance (room 40); photo attached. We asked for a quiet room, so we were on the back corner of the hotel which was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast for 12 euros per person was well worth the cost. There were plenty of choices and the food was very good. If we return to San Gimignano we will definitely stay here again!

Location is perfect! Very central to everything. Rooms were very clean. Staff were very friendly as well. We did have an issue with our air conditioner the first night .. we asked if we could change rooms and the front desk girl was very accommodating and we did change rooms. The air conditioner was newer and worked much better. Cute little terrace for breakfast as well. We found a little wine shop that served their own meat, cheese and wine. Amazing service as well.

Our room was at the side of hotel and very quiet. It was only up one short flight of stairs which was a relief as we had heavy luggage with us. A bonus was having an extra bed in the room so we could sleep in separate parts of the room.

a bit tricky trying to drive up into the square as there are a lot of tourists. we eventually left the car nearby and wheeled our heavy suitcases across the square. We then parked the car in car park at bottom of the town.

Location on the main square was so special! The staff was so kind and helpful- they spoke English well. Our family room was spacious. Loved having a separate room for the kids as well as their separated twin beds. Loved looking over the rolling hills in the primary bedroom. Hot shower. Good breakfast.

The upper floors are a little maze. But easy enough to find your room and breakfast room after the first time searching. The hot tub was in the breakfast area so not the best location for relaxing, but is a nice amenity to offer.

The hotel is so central and even though it is in the thick of all the action it is so quiet and peaceful. We had a quadruple room with a double bed and two single beds which worked perfectly for our teenagers. The breakfast was brilliant and even nicer that it could be eaten on the terrace. It’s in the centre of the ZTL so you can’t drive there but we parked in car park P2 and walked through (a bit embarrassing for the kids dragging their cases through the tourists!)

Lovely old building, beautifully restored. Large comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Except for the black mould in the shower. Needs attention! We had requested a room at the back, so it was very quiet. Though in April, after 22:00, all of San Gimignano is quiet. Nice view of the countryside from the room. This was our third visit to San Gimignano. Previously, we’ve stayed across the square at La Cisterna which is also excellent. However, Lion Bianco was better value this time. Definitely recommended and we would certainly return.

The only niggle was the AC which worked perfectly but emitted a constant buzzing sound. White noise really, but I had to turn it off in the middle of the night when I couldn’t get back to sleep.
