The valley view from the room was superb. Staff on reception were very helpful. Good breakfast with again beautiful views. Charming building in a fantastic location at the heart of the town. Very close to restaurants, bars, ice cream shops etc

A kettle is not automatically provided or offered but can be requested at reception, although we had to acquire cups ourselves from the dining room. It would be good if this had been offered on arrival.

We were hiking the Via Francigena and wanted a place near the trail - this property fit the bill. You can't get more centrally located than this property, literally right on the plaza. And what a plaza! Filled with restaurants and shops. And gelato - can't forget that! Also many, many tourists (us!) but whaddya gonna do? Our room was large, clean, comfortable and, saints preserve us! on the ground floor - first time during a 50-day long trip. Nice. The staff was exceptional - they worked a long time with us trying to make bus/train arrangements. Much appreciated. Breakfast may seem steep at 14 euros, but we found out the hard way when we ordered juice and a croissant nearby that was almost as much. Lesson learned.

Our family first stayed here 16 years ago with our 15 year old son and 16 year old daughter and we loved our stay. Our room was on the 3rd or 4th floor and looked directly over the lovely old well in the piazza. This time I requested the same room to reenact my daughter , now 32 with a husband and two babies to be able to wave from their room while I took a picture from the well. I also requested a room on the same floor as close as possible to my daughter , but with a view of the countryside. WOW their picked perfect rooms, the same one we stayed in years ago overlooking the well and a room that had a huge terrace and a 180 degree view of the countryside with many vineyards and towers in the background. We loved the terrace and enjoyed wine and snacks while enjoying the sunrise and sunset. The location is wonderful as you are city central and walk everywhere in this picture perfect village. The breakfast room is huge, food is delicious, staff attentive in bringing lots of coffee and two baby chairs. The view from the breakfast room is spectacular. Also want to say the front desk was so thoughtful in getting us warm milk every morning and evening for the babies. We were very thankful for the entire staff in taking care of our needs with two small children.

I cannot think of anything that was negative.

Amazing location! Right in the UNESCO square across from the Cisterna! The views from the room with the terraces were over the top amazing. We have a room with a view, but no terrace. I could drive right to the hotel and drop the luggage, and then take car to Lots 3 & 4 for parking. Good restaurant options all walkable. Breakfast was decent, typical, but really nice to have in the hotel.

Room 87. Could not flush the toilet, unless you had a sledge hammer. Our room #87, had many stairs to navigate, even in the room. Room #84 - Terrace with those amazing views.

Hotel location in the heart of the main square , perfect location. Hotel staff very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, the room was perfect . A very good breakfast with stunning views. Be warned that to drop luggage off you have to drive to the front door , a drive through the back of the city and some narrow streets. Follow the directions the hotel supply and you should be ok. I enquired about the shuttle service from the car park as there was four of us with large suitcases , this was lost in translation and was not made available to myself. All in all would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again , 5 star .

Great location, and a beautiful city. I found it a bit too busy and touristy. If yoy are wanting a mire serene Tuscany stay, I would try somewhere else. The hotel itself was great, very large room and I recommend getting a room with the terrace - amazing view watching the moon come up! It was clean, except the bathroom could have used a bit more cleaning. The restaurant is great for breakfast, but expensive for dinner, but there are many options to eat in the city. Overnight parking was fine, only 15 euros.

The shower leaked everywhere! I think the shower head is in the wrong location for the tiny shower, but the water was nice and hot!

We had seen this hotel a couple of times while visiting San Gimignano, and this was our first time staying for two nights. The room was stylish and spacious. There are some small things that could be improved (e.g., the bright light from the “exit” sign that bothered us while sleeping, the noisy refrigerator, and the heating that was turned off every night and we had to ask to be turned back on), but overall it was a very pleasant stay. We especially appreciated the clear instructions for entering the ZTL zone to drop off our luggage — unlike in Florence, where we had to walk 1.5 km with heavy bags — and the convenient parking.

Hotel La Cisterna was perfect-we had an incredible view from our balcony looking over the Tuscan hills. Our room was spacious and clean, great storage and hanging space with a big bathroom . Location was right on Piazza Della Cisterna. We could drive our car into the piazza to drop off our luggage- luckily we had a little car for the narrow streets. Alessio and Carina were helpful and lovely

Breakfast was 7.30-9.45-we got there at 8 and choices were limited with most of the food gone and not replenished

Excellent location close to Trevi Fountain, shops, restaurants and of course the sites of Rome! The Restaurant in the same building was fabulous! Claudio was also extremely helpful and we were very appreciate of his help coordinating transportaion for 10 people to the airport

The only thing we didn't like was that there was no place for our family of 10 to sit and visit, unless we were in the room designated for breakfast. There is so designated lobby area.

Staff were charming. There is a wonderful view from the dining room. Breakfast with cappuccino and croissants and cake and fruit and muesli and boiled eggs, etc, was a pleasurable experience.

This applies to all restaurants in San Giminagno. Carnivores are lavishly catered for. Pescatarians and vegetarians have very limited choice. In some places, the mains list is entirely meaty. If you love boar, you'll be in paradise.
