We booked a 2 bedroom suite and it had so much room for our group of 3 to spread out. It was great to have 2 bathrooms too. The hotel feels like you are in an old palace, but with modern amenities. There is a piazza just off the hotel which is convenient for grabbing a coffee, meal or afternoon drink. About a 10-15 minute walk to main attractions like St Marco and Rialto bridge, but the walk is through beautiful canals and tiny streets.

The palace is sumptuous, the suites well furnished and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is great too.

For me it wasn’t a problem but the palace is old and some rooms like suites are up and there’s no elevator. For the luggage no problem since the staff manage it but if you don’t like steps it might be a bother.

We highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in the Salute suite. 2 rooms, 3 windows overlooking the Grand Canal and Santa Maria de la Salute. Enjoyed the view of the sunrise, the parade of boats at the opening of the carnival and romantic night views of the Grand Canal. Perfect cleanliness, excellent air conditioning, excellent hearty breakfast in a historical interior, arrival by water taxi directly to the reception. In the evening we enjoyed dessert in the lounge-bar with portraits of the former owners of this palace. Very friendly staff, helped us carry our suitcases to our floor, order a taxi, organized a take away breakfast for us on the day of an early departure. Many thanks to Aronele + Masud.

Room was fantastic, spacious, comfortable bed, quiet, great amenities e.g. fridge, tea and coffee, hairdryer, view of the canal.

Stairs were steep and not a solid rail to hold on main staircase or up to the breakfast room.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that we were upgraded to a larger room with a full view of the Grand Canal. They had a last minute cancellation and let us take advantage. The dining was an amazing experience. We paid the upgrades to have breakfast and dinner on the balcony overhanging the Grand Canal, magnificent. It wasn't an inexpensive upgrade though, but for the trip of a lifetime, we decided to go for it.

We changed our dinner reservation, they didn't open until 7PM, and we had plans at 8:30PM. We asked if we could change to 7PM, and the man at the front desk said that they didn't open until 7PM. We said no problem, 7PM was good for us. You could tell that he wasn't pleased. As we walked away, he said in Italian to his coworkers that we probably wouldn't even show up. I made sure to tell him when we got there at 6:55PM, "Wow, not only did we show up, we're 5 minutes early."

Room was amazing, exceeding our expectations and actually was two rooms. It was very well furnished with a large comfortable bathroom.It was on the ground floor and easy to access. The common rooms of the Palazzo are beautiful and you can request to dine on the small balcony overlooking the Grand Canal if you are just a couple. The breakfast was amazing - beautifully displayed and very tasty. Service excellent.

I will offer a cautionary note, which, if you are a mature traveller, you need to be aware. While there is a small elevator, it does serve all floors so to reach the common rooms for breakfast and dining, you must navigate two substantial stairways. There is NO secure handrail. There is only a velvet rope looped through a ring which is no help at all. If you are young and strong it will not be a concern and as I said the facility is beautiful and worth the climb.

The staff were amazing, so accommodating and helpful to myself and my daughter travelling together. We had issues with heavy broken suitcase and they didn’t hesitate to assist us.. we were on 3rd level with an amazing suite and they didn’t all the work without complaint. Check in reception was easy and so polite and welcoming… location was brilliant, quiet but still so close to anything you need without all the drama hussle and bussle of San Paulo and Rialto bridge and the cafes and eateries… the square connected to hotel has many varied options, more reasonable qnd amazing food and service. Will definitely return. Outstanding 10/10

This hotel is 10 out of 10. We have been traveling through Europe for 7 weeks and this hotel was one of our absolute favorites. The location is central, yet peaceful (plus gorgeous views of the grand canal), the design is authentic, the rooms spacious (we are a family of 5), and the best part was the staff. Everyone made us feel completely welcome and at home. They gave us a complimentary room upgrade, area recommendations and just smiles and kindness all around. They even helped me with a bag I left at the hotel. We felt so comfortable there - I can’t wait to get back.

It was perfect

Fantastic location by the Academia right in the centre of everything. very quiet. Staff was extremely diligent and helpful, they could not do enough to help us. Their communication before our stay was also extremely quick and efficient. Love this hotel. Had aircon. they decorated our room with balloons for my gf birthday which was very nice. Beautiful painted and stuccoed ceiling in the room. Fantastic view over the grand canal from the communal area.

Loads of stairs without lift and decor of the hotel in general and our suite in particular is a bit tired. size of the room is ok even though this was more a big room than actually a suite (despite its name). No real bench to put suitcase on (only flimsy trestle), no shelf in bathroom to put things on, very old mini fridge... actually everything looked like it had been there for 40 years... but the bed was comfy even though it is the kind with 2 single mattresses in a big bed which I don't like very much. I thought this "suite" was a bit expensive for the standard of furnishing but i guess you pay for the location and the aircon and for being in Venice.
