Central location, easy to use buses, supermarket very close. Felt safe in the area, and there was plenty to explore close by and further away. Great to have the apartment cleaned every day.

Most nights were relatively quiet, given that the locals don't go out to eat until after 7.30. There were a couple of noisy nights from the street below and our last night was very noisy, it seemed like there was a party in one of the restaurants in the lane by the supermarket. Good thing is that the noise seems to stop around midnight. We are seniors so liked to go to bed earlier than many others. The day a cruise ship came in and flooded an already full town was not so good, the atmosphere changed, and the town was full of people pushing and shoving their way through the streets.

The location of Arco Antico on the ancient (the original Sicilian Greek colony/city) and crowded island of Ortygia in Siracusa could not have been better. Corso Matteotti is at the northern end, easily accessible by car (if you drive straight [make NO TURNS! Stop at the small roundabout where C. Matteotti begins] over the bridge) to drop your bags (go 10 meters down the small passageway to the right of the street-front store and then turn left into the Residence's entrance alleyway) and not too far from the Talete covered parking garage (EU15/day) with and only a 10-15 minute easy walk back. As the apartments (we had two) have kitchens for at least basic cooking and a full grocery store is about 100 meters away. The ruins of the Temple of Apollo can be seen out you window and a walk down Corso Matteotti passed all the fancy stores will soon bring you to Piazza Archimedes or, with a slight turn west, to the Piazza di Duomo. These are the most significant landmarks in Ortygia. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars but we also highly recommend the Tarttoria di Pigna, owned and operated by the Arco Antico's owners, Francesco and Patricia (chef).

Excellent central location near to Ortigia sights and numerous restaurants. Good cafe and supermarket also very close. Good-sized twin room on second floor and It was useful to have a lift.

Some minor repairs to the bathroom were needed but these did not spoil what was otherwise a good choice of accommodation. Some external noise at night from people and vehicles outside but worth it for the central location. Lighting outside the entrance could be improved to facilitate inputting the self entry code

The location is perfect for exploring Siracusa and Ortigia. The building was well maintained. It's close to the market, close the 2 bridges from Siracusa to Ortigia, close to restaurants and all the beautiful sights on the island. We were a group of 6 friends with 3 apartments. 2 were on the front of the building, large windows, a balcony and great natural light. (103 and 203) The third apartment was smaller faced the inner centre of the building and was not as bright. Bathrooms were large but shower was small. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. The owner Francesco was helpful, always available when needed. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was very friendly. Step out the door, turn right and go to Viola Espresso for the best cappucino and cornetto! Head towards the water and the Al Vechio Lavatotio waterfront restaurant for delicious salads and pizza!

With this central location come the sounds of being central in a high traffic area...loud party goers, traffic, garbage trucks etc The soundproofing on the large windows could have been better. 2 apartments were set up with twin beds as per our request. The third apartment had the sofa bed set up as the 2nd bed instead of twin beds in 1 bedroom. They lost their living area.

WI-FI did not work (despite having told them to fix it) If you turn on too many appliances, the power goes off in the room (hob + blowdryer) No parking (you have to park before the bridge connecting Siracusa to Ortigia - which can be very difficult and stressy to find a space)

The location is excellent — very close to all the main attractions. The room was spacious and comfortable for two people, and the host responded promptly to our messages. The only minor downside was a slightly musty smell near the entrance of the building, possibly due to limited ventilation. If that could be improved, everything would be perfect.

Very good location, comfy and big room that even has a small kitchenette. Good bathroom with a decent shower. Friendly staff and communication.

Windows don‘t block any sound that is coming from the street, so it’s quite noisy. Would have appreciated a bottle of water as a welcome with the hot temperatures and maybe some coffee for the next morning (there is a vending machine for both on the ground floor though).

Apartment was centrally located and in Ortigia. We could easily get from there to places of interest. Well maintained and clean. Good kitchen facilities.

Could have done with a microwave for the kitchen.

Just about everything. Great location. Close to food, shopping and historical points. Wonderfully comfortable apartment. Grocery/wine store just around the corner.

Don’t get me wrong the air conditioner worked great but it’s just too hot in Sicily. When I return it will be during the cooler months and I will definitely be seeking the same residence.
