The pool, the restaurant and the view

in the room we found a LIZARD on the ceiling! when I went to report to reception they said that the hotel is surrounded by vegetation and this can happen! I never opened the outside door so probably was there for a couple of days! staff said that is nothing that they could do , only of I want another room....very disappointed, it's not a cheap hotel

Great position, old grandeur style, beautiful views

The pool area: although lovely small interconnecting pools with beautiful views, the surrounding terrace needs a complete revamp. However, even as it is, it needs to be cleaner. Many areas just aren’t swept and old pool equipment stored. Broken drinking glass around the pool was only swept (badly) and not vacuumed.

This is a lovely hotel. The furnishings are lovely, the view is incredible and the environment is fantastic.

The only negative comment I have is that the staff in the restaurant were snobby. They looked down on us and we were the guests! Our first evening we had dinner in the dining room. They got upset because we didn’t order courses of food. We were not very hungry so we decided to share a few things and that made them mad! Our waiter stormed off and talked about us to the other wait staff in Italian. They were very rude. The front desk staff were all very friendly.

The view is beautiful and the balcony lovely. Excellent selection of items at the breakfast buffet. Close proximity to the town centre. Very comfy bed. Lots of beautiful spaces to sit in the many public areas. Furnished beautifully.

Bathroom is pleasing from a design perspective but not very functional. Plug for bathtub is in the middle of the tub right under the shower head and is a safety hazard for tripping or stubbing your toes. Water pressure in shower is awful. In many of the premier deluxe rooms with panoramic view, there is a VERY low beam that runs across part of the room.

Central hotel full of old school charm. Plenty on offer at breakfast, seated in a lovely area overlooking the bay with an option to seat in or outside. We had a basic room which was really nice, plenty of space with a comfortable bed with lovely bedding. Housekeeping daily. We had a candle light celebration meal in the Bellevue restaurant which is located on top of the hotel, this is a covered terrace and each table had a tall freestanding heater which kept us toasty and comfortable in the cool late October evening. We also ate one lunchtime by the pool side restaurant, again very nice. So close to the centre of Sorrento just a 5/10 minute walk A really enjoyable stay

I enjoyed the view from the lovely hotel terrace, and the pool. The hotel was a convenient 15 minute walk to the main square. I was allowed to check in early, as the room was ready, and was grateful for that.

Poolside service was very limited and not at all friendly. The front desk staff (one particular tall, dark haired gentleman, with glasses) I found to be very unfriendly. Isn't customer service literally his job? The room and furnishings are somewhat dated; the whole property feels very 1980s. The pool area (my main reason for the stay) is not very impressive for the price of the hotel. $700/night for shoulder season, for a standard room. Breakfast was also unimpressive, with tastless pastries, and literal hot dogs as sausages.

This hotel is perfectly located for a Sorrento holiday - a quick 10 minute walk down the hill into the town center. Room was very clean, tastefully decorated in cooling Mediterranean colors and easily large enough for our purpose. Air-Con worked well, as did the Wi-Fi signal. Shower is an over the bath type with a swinging glass partition. Toilet, sink and bidet are in the same bathroom, separated from the main quarters by a sturdy door that provides privacy. There is ample storage for hanging clothes and drawers for folded items. The layout of the hotel is unusual in that it spans multiple levels as it rises up the natural slope of the land. Take a picture of the framed layout and you will soon be navigating it by stairs and lifts with confidence! The pool area is super luxurious with views over Sorrento, The Bay of Naples and Vesuvius in the background - all with the choice of 5 cascading pools. Breakfast offers every choice required including a cooked option. The staff are ultra professional and perform their duties with style and elegance. I defiantly recommend this hotel.

The view from the room was amazing, of the Sorrento coastline and the port. Location of the hotel is a major advantage, literally only 5 minutes walk to the start of the road with all shops, bars and restaurants, and no more than 15 minutes walk to the main square of Sorrento. The port is also only 25 minutes walk (if you want to take the walk) to get your ferries to Positano, Amalfi and Capri.

I would really like to rate this hotel as 9 or 10 due to the location, cleanliness and attentive staff, but I simply cannot due to the breakfast. I travel a lot for business and have the opportunity to have a lot of chance to sample different hotels. I was not impressed with the breakfast for the price of the hotel, I do not want the review to put other people from choosing the hotel as it has a fantastic location, but the breakfast is average, not a huge choice, not as fresh as I would have expected and lacking quality.

This is an outstanding hotel. Firstly it's location is superb - a five minute walk to the main high street with shops and restaurants. Secondly the views are incredible and although we didn't have a sea-facing room, it didn't matter as there are so many terraces and bars with incredible views, that you are spoilt for choice. The swimming pool area is stunning with waterfall pools and they were the perfect temperature and never too busy. Plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas and towels, along with a drinks service, meant we spent many happy hours there with Sorrento and the bay below us. The staff there are exceptional. All spoke English and were SO friendly. The waiting staff in particular need a mention, but everyone from the lovely guy who tirelessly brought us drinks in the pool area, to the lifeguard, to the maids and waiters - they couldn't have been more charming or helpful. They made the best cocktails and we started every evening on the main terrace before heading to dinner. We only booked a basic room, but it was gorgeous: electric blinds, balcony, comfortable bed, great air conditioning (I was concerned before going as I saw some comments about it not being cold enough and I need a cool room at night. But I need not have worried - it was perfect and I slept so well). Breakfast was delicious and they have an amazing eggs chef who cooks up fresh eggs and omelettes to order. It's busy at 9.30am (we never made it early) but there was always plenty of choice. In short, we loved it. We will be back for sure. It is a little bit of heaven.

This isn't particularly for this hotel, but the area in general - more salads on the menu please! It's hot - and if you don't want to pile on the pounds, it's difficult to find any decent salads. Sounds crazy I know, and the food at the hotel is excellent, but it was tough to find lighter bites.

The location and cleanliness. The breakfast was very nice and the staff pleasant. The front of the hotel employee was very helpful, cheerful and happy to be there! Great asset for this hotel!

The poolside bar staff were borderline rude, unhelpful and generally seemed to dislike their jobs there. I noticed it the most with the younger gentlemen. You never were greeted with a smile or any pleasantries whatsoever. Several of the hotel guests spoke of it daily. It’s a big problem for your hotel.
