We liked everything about the hotel. The location is great as you have an amazing view over Sorrento, Naples, Vesuvius, etc. Great sunset watch spot as well. Don't worry about the fact the hotel is not in central Sorrento - there is a free shuttle bus running every hour from 9 to 23:30. It only takes around 7 minutes to go to the city center. The shuttle stops near the main shopping street/restaurants area. In the mornings it also goes to the central bus and train station so perfect if you want to explore the Amalfi coast for the day. Please note that there is a public bus stop just outside of the hotel, but we were advised by reception that the bus is already full by the time it reaches the hotel so doesn't usually stop. It stopped for us the 1 time we tried it, but we were there beginning of May so not high season. The stuff are very nice and helpful - especially the lady at reception and everyone at breakfast. We stayed in the annex villa, which is just less than 5 min walk through the lemon garden. It was cheaper than the main hotel and I would definitely recommend that and don't be put off by the fact it says annex. It is a gorgeous place. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and fairly varied for a continental breakfast. The stuff don't miss a second when you need some more coffee. There is a jacuzzi area which looks very nice and the pool is heated so can be used even if it's not too hot. It is exceptionally clean as well.

- Frequent and reliable transportation between the hotel and the Piazza Antiche Mura square in Sorrento. - There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. We used it when returning from the Amalfi coast on a Sita bus. (We probably could have stopped the bus on our way to the Amalfi coast had we bought the bus tickets beforehand.) - Excellent service in the hotel restaurant.

- The toilet in the room had a weak flush and the water thank filled up slowly for flushing the toilet again.

Location was out of town centre. 15 minutes walk along pathway (too dangerous along road however) Shuttle bus service was great although often very busy at peak times Staff were lovely & friendly especially head waiter & Nello who looked after pool area Exceptional service from all staff. It's close to a busy road but that did not cause any issues apart from crossing it to shuttle bus stop. Travelled with 17 & 19 year old and they absolutely loved it too. Quiet in evening but so relaxing with the entertainment. We stayed in annexe on top floor with exceptional view. Special thanks to Johan the shuttle bus driver who was fantastic!!

Loved the staff, the pool was fab, the view was magic 😍, the shuttle was great- never found it to be late or overcrowded etc.

Our room (838) had the sun shining into it from sunrise- it could do with some curtains instead of just nets to enable you to sleep past 5am 😴. There were some really yappy dogs that barked the entireeeeeee time. I don’t know if they belonged to Aminta or were next door but my god they never shut up 😂🙈.

Staff were helpful. Great walk down in to Sorrento: 10 minutes downhill and you’re on the outskirts of the main town. Guy by the pool brought towels and kept it lovely. Shuttle bus guy was always on time and friendly. Easy instruction from the station to place to get shuttle up with all the cases. Sorrento was stunning. We had no issue with getting a space on the shuttle. Great breakfast. Easy to get into town with the shuttle to pick up water/snacks to take back to hotel.

Drinks were expensive in the hotel and the minibar was outrageous. The hotel is lovely but really could do with being painted properly on close inspection. Also, something to stop the doors banging so hard when people leave/enter their rooms. We were woken up in the night and in the morning by people go on and out of the rooms as the doors slam shut really hard.

Everything! Lovely room comfortable bed the view from the rooftop, and the bar. Great breakfast with incredible view. Having a car available to take us in and out throughout the day and night was perfect.

As soon as we arrived at Grand Hotel Aminta, the staff greeted us warmly and even allowed us to check in early! The food was absolutely delicious both at breakfast and dinner. The room was fabulous and great value for money. We enjoyed the panoramic bar area and jacuzzi for beautiful sunsets. The pool was also very nice. We got engaged during our stay and the staff left us a beautiful surprise in our room to celebrate. The only small downside, which we knew when booking, was that the hotel was out of town. That being said, the walk down is very manageable and only took 15 to 20 minutes. They also run a shuttle service, which is very reliable. The views from the hotel are well worth staying outside the town. Would highly recommend staying.

Our 4th stay at the Aminta and pleased that we'd decided to return with our family. Excellent facilities for a relaxing stay in Sorrento, with good bus link to the town which is always useful. We arrived at lunch time on our first day so took advantage of having a meal outside on the patio area. The food is first class and is perhaps under utilised by guests. This hotel has the most polite and attentive staff, who have worked here for many years and cannot do enough. Cannot recommend this hotel enough to friends and family. Well done as always Aminta!

Due to bring early in the season, the outdoor bar area was closed and under some refurbishment but the indoor bar area was open for a welcome drink after a day of sightseeing, in an informal atmosphere. May not be suitable for travellers who want to be more central to town but there is a useful hourly free shuttle service. There is a gap in service in the daytime just to be aware and no bus at 10.30pm but you can get a return at 9.30pm or 11.30pm. The views from the outside pool area are fabulous so the location wasn't an issue for us.

The hotel was situated in a wonderful location on the high part of the cliffs overlooking the bay of Sorrento. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly (especially the reception team and pool man). Upon arrival we were informed by the reception team that they had upgraded our room (free of charge) to one with a garden view. There is a free shuttle bus service that runs hourly between the hotel and Sorrento town. The swimming pool was a good size and very deep. The temperature was perfect as well. The bar has a great selection of drinks. On Monday night they had a DJ which played great music.

Food and drink sold in the hotel was very expensive. Dinner in the restaurant was ok. 1 meal I had to return as it was inedible, however I ordered another dish which was lovely.

Absolutely beautiful hotel situated in the Sorrento hills. We had a sunset balcony room, which the view was breathtaking. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. Our flight was delayed coming out, and they called ahead so we could organise room service as we would miss dinner. Good was delicious. Highly recommend.

The only thing I would point out is the furniture on the balcony kept waking us up at night as it was banging with the wind. We sorted it once we realised, but we were then woken up by are neighbours doing the same thing. Another slight disappointment was we weren't informed of any special nights going on where a pianist comes in.
