We were very satisfied with the service at this place!!! The hotel is located just 10 minutes from St. Mark’s Square, which is very convenient for visiting all the main attractions in a short amount of time. Especially thanks to the owner, who upon our arrival gave us a map and pointed out all the main sights of Venice. We were particularly grateful for the suggested routes with fewer tourists, where you can enjoy stunning sunsets :) The room had everything we needed (and as a nice gesture, there was complimentary champagne, water, and sweets). The cleaning was done regularly, and all the necessary items were replenished — coffee, tea, water. Our room had a view of the canal 🤍 Right outside the hotel, there’s a lovely little restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food. I definitely recommend this place and will be coming back!! A solid 10 out of 10 :)

Very helpful staff with recommendations and good information . Location was great . Cafe combo not far to walk ( ask reception ) best price for a good coffee in the mornings . Lovely little mini supermarket in the square behind . The restaurants recommend were nice , ca dolphin in the square behind and more so the one along the road also recommended for pizza . The nicest man was in the ice cream shop that also sells calzone type pasties . From the square behind where the mini supermarket is , cross the bridge as if going to San marco / Rialto . Just along on the left is the ice cream shop . The man gave us free samples and was kind , he explained what was in the ice cream I chose ( before the free samples ! ) definately support him 👍

The square behind has a cafe on the corner opposite the mini supermarket . No visible prices for coffee and we were charged 9.5 euros for 2 coffees ( extortionate ) no receipt . A few locals said they would never go there and recommended the lovely combo for coffee . Also on the same square is a smoothie /juice bar but didn't feel like a healthy option as expected as a large squirt of some kind of syrup was added to the large amount of ice and being made out of full sight I'm not sure how much fruit went in it .

The location of Hotel Sotoportego is fantastic - still a little too close to the main river of tourists but the mornings and evenings are blissful to explore the main sights in Venice as well as get to Fondamente Nove or Vaporetto as needed. Personally I was really hoping to get a room with a view of the canal but we didn't get that and overall the 200+ dollar a night room seemed quite steep. In retrospect, and now having experienced Venice multiple times, I would choose this hotel again but pay extra for a room with the canal view. The staff was fantastic - the room was cleaned every day and there was Prosecco, biscuits, tea and coffee on arrival. The place is really lovely - once you get over the shock of how expensive Venice is - it is totally worthwhile!

There isn't anything to dislike - I suppose one could say the inside rooms are a bit dark - even with a window facing the interior on sunny days it is not a place you will go to do much else than nap or sleep. So recommend getting one of the rooms with a canal view (Rooms 3-5 I think). But overall the way Venice is built, this is always going to be an issue unless you get a room in a campo with large windows or a room on a large canal.

Everything was so neat and clean. We love the interior. It’s way more beautiful than the pictures. The location is perfect. Restaurants, supermarkets and other shops are just outside you step into the hotel. Also, the tourist spots like St Marks Square, Rialto bridge etc. are nearby in walking distance. The staffs are very helpful and responsive to every queries.. We checked in late and they arranged it smoothly. One thing I can say is that they really care about their guests. We would love to come back again for stay.

While using showers, water comes outside from the bottom of the shower area which can be improved. An addition of microwave in the facilities would be great. Just a caution, you need to use very steep stairs with luggages. It was just one floor for us.

Fantastic location close to food, transportation, and attractions. Beautiful view out our window of the canal below and surrounding buildings. Tiziano, our hotel host is probably the most friendly and helpful person of any property that we have ever stayed at. He even helped us get our bags to the water bus stop after we checked out, explaining the history of the canals, the city, and the buildings we passed on the way. Have never been treated so well. So thankful to a friend that had previously stayed at the hotel and had highly recommended it to us. Will definitely stay again!

Wow, wow, wonderful! Such a gem in Venise. When booking I was not sure when seeing one star, but we were experiencing 5 star service, room and location. The room is newly renovated, bright with wooden floor, wellinsulated windows, a balcony to watch the gondolas pass by. The bathroom spotless clean, even with towel dryer. In November we were particulary happy about the well working central heating, which made even a high ceiling floor cozy and warm. We received a « welcome package » with prosecco, Venetian cookies and tips where to eat/drink around the hotel. We were contacted before with all explanations needed how to find the hotel. It is very easily reached from the airport with the water bus and then 10 min walk. Close to many sights and the nice hotel staff is happy to help with any questions.

It was in a very nice location. The room was so clean and aesthetic. The staff there were AMAZING. I can't stress that enough. The guy who checked us in (I'm sorry I didn't ask ur name) was sooooo lovely. He gave us the best tour and was so lovely. They had filled the fridge with lots of snacks and drinks on the house! The view of our room was SPECTACULAR. Nothing I'd seen before! It had everything you'd expect. They even gave us ear plugs in case it got noisy in the morning (again because of the fabulous location, it could get noisy) but homestly I have no issue with noise so personally it was fine for us. At the time of the check out another guy called Tiziano helped us so much with our luggage, lent us an umbrella and spent a lot of time explaining where to go and what route to take for a nice walking experience. Overall we really loved the hotel.

The staff were wonderful and made us feel looked after even when they weren't around. Both Luca and Tiziano were great, their recommendations spot on, and nothing was ever an inconvenience to them. The decor is classic Italian, just like in the photos. The location is incredible, especially for first timers, most landmarks being within a 15 min walk away, and very easy access from the airport (only 3 bridges between the Alilaguna stop and the hotel).

A word of warning yo the light sleepers - bring your earplugs and eye mask! You'll be staying in a beautiful yet modest historical building, in the very centre of one of the most touristy places on Earth, life starts early both inside and outside of the building, so keep that in mind and come ready.

It is just in such an excellent location in front of a channel. They are in all the details, both check-in and check-out were great, the cleaning, the deco of the room. One of the best experiences, super recommended. Comfortable bed and bathroom. We were thrilled by the view from the window. The view from the view was epic ! The attention received was 11/10. Luca very kind from the chat. And, we loved the most was the attention of Tisane when we arrived at the hotel. Tiziano's attention is just amazing. He had prepared a map of all the paths to deep discover the city, he explained with passion where to go, to eat, to see the sunset. We walked down hidden streets, crossed many nice bridges and visited different zones of Venice. The trip idea suggested by him for visiting the islands was wonderful. Chapeau ! Grazie mille por tutti ! We hope to see you again :)

Staff is excellent! Overall vibe of this property is super amazing! Young man who hosted us at reception desk was full of knowledge about Venice and gave a lot of useful recommendations about our travel in this super beautiful city. The location of this hotel is also perfect - every attraction is nearby and also very good restaurant is also located exactly outside of the main entrance of this hotel. Highly recommended!

A little bit noisy in the morning, because small street was nearby our room (locals were working in the morning on some building stuff or smthng like this), but this didn't change our point of view about this hotel, because everything was absolutely amazing despite of this.
