The staff were absolutely incredible, so friendly and helpful! Breakfast was simple but done well, everything was fresh and clearly labelled. Room was a lovely size, beds exceptionally comfortable and bathrooms very clean.

I wasnt very comfortable with leaving the key behind the desk where they are clearly visible to anyone who walks into reception, so you could in theory say any room number and get the key... they do say reception is always managed but twice we had to wait and ring a bell to give/get the key. Perhaps the hotel could cover the key box so it's not so obvious which room keys are hanging up? 🤔

It is a well refurbished palazzo on a quiet side canal, within easy walking distance of some major sights (Frari, Accademia, Peggy Guggenheim collection) and 4 vaporetto stops (Ca Rezzonico, Accademia, San Basilio and Zattere) Our room was lovely with a view of the internal courtyard, and it was quiet. Breakfast offered a good, fresh selection.

We were troubled by mosquito bites at night, and it was only on our third night when I asked reception if that had any spray to deter them, that they provided an excellent plug-in device which put an end to the problem. It would have been sensible to have this in the room to start with.

Location, styling, calm and peaceful away from crowds yet in the heart of Venice.

Although they had a porter service, we didn’t factor the very steep steps up to our room. And as I have a back issue I struggled. This shouldn’t put you off though as I guess had we known and asked for a lower ground floor room they probably would have obliged.

The position of the hotel, right jn the heart of Venice and the potential the building has it to be an amazing accomodation. Nice and helpful personnel.

There are a lot of items that should be improved, to align the quality and the price paid. It looked like no guests were expected, some rolled carpets on a hallway shelf, some boxes on top of the cabinet, vaccum cleaner next to the room door. In addition to this, the sink tap was not working properly, closing by itself unless was kept on a max position, which made it impossible to use it without splashing water all over the bathroom. The one in the shower cabin made the hair wash a real torture, as it had such a low pressure, you needed at least one hour to wash a mid lenght hair. For a 330 eur per night the expectations were quite high, at least for the reasonable items, such as an increased overall quality in used products and serrvices.

Location, great staff, sparkling new bathroom, nespresso in room, easy recharging with usb ports, comfy bed, lovely communal room upstairs.mini bar clearly marked out free water bottles with tea and coffee, there were even slippers! Also beautiful murano glass light fittings everywhere

Downstairs communal room was a little drab and uninviting but i was there quiet off season so very different when hotel busy i imagine. Iwas travelling alone with double room. I believe it was suitable for one not two, bed against wall. Room needed some pictures , no room for bedside tables.

I stayed for five nights and I loved everything about this hotel. I highly recommend it. It combines medieval beauty with AC (which was much appreciated in Venice in July). Wife worked perfectly. The location was great — I came to love the neighborhood of Dorsoduro and it's an easy walk from there to San Marco and other places. Alilaguna goes directly from the airport to Ca' Rezzonico, which is right around the corner. When I come back to Venice, I will stay here again.

I booked a room at Hotel Pausania via booking.com from Venice Marco Polo, panicking because my flight had been cancelled and there were no available flights that same night, nor for the following day. The journey back was horrid - lugging suitcases up and down canal bridge stairs in the dark and the rain. When I arrived at Hotel Pausania, soaked, I couldn't have felt more reassured. The evening reception staff member sympathised with the double whammy of weather and the cancelled flight and, when I asked for a drink to take the edge off, he went out of his way to get one. It was also very reasonably priced The hotel is an historical building, and details have been masterfully retained, while incorporating modern amenities, such as a lift and air con. My room, with its gold brocade and dark wood, worked perfectly with the ceiling artworks and huge windows. Additionally, everything, including the bathroom, was sparklingly clean. The following morning, the reception staff member was so patient with my determination to communicate in Italian and assured me that my bags could be stored securely. While out, I discovered that there was a transport strike, which would disrupt my passage to the airport. Returning to the hotel, I was given the information that I needed. Instead of paying an exorbitant (€80) taxi fare, I paid €15 and travelled by boat to Marco Polo in plenty of time. This brings me to the hotel’s position. Hauling luggage up and down canal bridge stairs is no fun. Hotel Pausania is located a 5 minute FLAT walk from Ca’Rezzonico, where you can get the Alilaguna to the airport. I wouldn't have known this without hotel staff knowledge and help. The canal-side location is also right by the Leonardo da Vinci museum and a short walk from Galleria dell’Academia, as well as from San Margarita, which has loads of well-priced bars and restaurants It started as an emergency stay but will be my first port of call when I’m next in Venice. I couldn't work out how to use the in-room coffee machine, so some instructions would have been good.

Hotel Pausania was very charming and typically Venetian. The location was perfect and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. I have been to Venice many times staying in various types of accommodation but wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again.

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel. There was some building work happening during my stay which was slightly disruptive but it didn’t spoil my experience here.

Lovely staff. Good location and map provided of the city . Great community living room on 2nd floor. Excellent for afternoon or evening conversation or treading a book.

Room was a lot smaller than expected comparing pictures. Did not have a wardrobe dresser. Only a closet rack . With a small two drawer dresser. The shower and tub is super small. Very slippery shower floor. . Recommend they install a water proof mat . Not easy to get in & out of shower. Breakfast ok. We were a party of three- Husband and wife with teen.

The staff was extremely helpful in helping us navigate our way around the area, arranging private taxi's when requested, even helped carry our luggage up to the room! Great location near restaurants, a local boat market pulled in with fresh fruits & vege's just steps from the hotel daily next to a small store along the canal. The public water taxi from the airport docked 600-900' from hotel's entrance, very handy! The breakfast was great, fresh juices/milk/fruits/yogurts/pastries/pancakes/breads with meats & cheeses and some delicious morning coffee, the cappucino was a treat! Serving staff was friendly and helpful. We were in the area for daughter's elopement and when their location for early morning photo's fell thru, the hotel allowed them and their photographers to come in and use the courtyard area for first reveals of bride to the groom pics. The Dorsoduro area is close enough sites to view yet so calm & peaceful in the evening, so relaxing. Hotel Manager Maria Grazia & her staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Venice!

Our room was nice, decent sized, clean and well stocked. The a/c was a nice touch especially with the heat we experienced while there, could have used a fan to help it circulate better, but not a deal breaker. Water pressure in shower was adequate, tub edge was tall, a tad difficult as a shorter person, but good size otherwise. An exhaust fan in bathroom would help clear the condensation, but the tall window was suffice. Note, there is no lift/elevator, just some very steep stairs to the rooms.
