We got a private room with private bathroom. Bathroom was small and everything looks quite worn, but for the price we couldn’t complain. Beddings were surprisingly comfy. A little dusty in corners but generally clean. The staff were great and easy to communicate with in English. Kitchen/common area is clean and has free tea/coffee. We loved the location, so many restaurants and little shops (Daiso is a few steps away) as the hostel is on a shopping street. Near the Bakery which has the best savory and sweet breads/pastries we’ve ever had! One station from Hakata station and short walk to Airport line.

The location was unbeatable. The entrance is located inside an outdoor shopping arcade filled with interesting restaurants and stores. On the other side of the shopping arcade (within a 3 minute walk) is a subway station for the Fukuoka airport line. Two other subway lines are equally as close. Plus of course it’s very close to the canal city mall which is amazing.

There was a little bit of what looked like mold creeping up on the corners of the bathtub which was unpleasant. Otherwise the property was great and they cleaned our room and the hostel every day.

We really liked this hostel. It is excellently located right in a Mall area with shops.and restaurants close by. It's walking distance to sights, parks, shrines, shopping and metro. Yes, the hostel itself is a bit dated but the staff is always cleaning all areas. There is a kitchen with stove top, microwave, kettle, fridge, pots and pans so you can make your own meals. Tea and coffee are available all day. The lounge is a great area to socialize with other guests. We had a double loft room with a bunk bed but the bottom futon was big enough for 2. Even though the futon is on the ground it was very comfortable sleeping. We travel with only carry-on so we used the top bunk for our luggage. The staff is friendly and helpful and speak decent English. For the price point I think this is an excellent choice in Fukuoka.

Can't think of anything we didn't like. The walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors but luckily they were quiet and didn't disturb us.

Very good value for money since it’s a hostel, and even the private rooms with private bathrooms were really cheap. The view from the window was really good of the canals and the staff were very nice. The common area was also cosy and the room was clean. There was a table and a good mirror in the room which I wasn’t expecting since many private hostel rooms don’t have them, so I was glad. The bedding was a futon on a tatami raised platform, so a Iittle hard but I don’t mind that and slept well. The location was amazing, within a couple of minutes walk from a subway station and right on the spot for a lovely shrine and Canal City Mall. Would definitely recommend for those on a budget who want to explore Fukuoka!

The en-suite bathroom was a little old and there was some damage. There’s no lift (elevator) so I did have a bit of trouble carrying my suitcase to the 3rd floor but another visitor kindly helped me.

Staff, location, facilities, comfy bed.. everything. Second time staying here and will definitely stay here again and again.

Since there are a lot of guests during my stay, and most are men, the toilets on the ground floor started to smell of urine as the night progressed.

Location and vicinity to attractions and mains areas of interests. Staff are fluent in a few languages and are able to help you with any troubles. Easy checkout procedure as I had a 7am flight. Kitchen amenities are plentiful as it is fully furnished. Simple check in procedure even if you come early as you can store your luggage and return later to complete the paperwork.

Beds are first come first serve and you can be sharing that room with up to 6 or so people. Shoe rack area can smell a bit but I suppose that is because others don't have good hygiene.

Personal, location, cleanliness

Its not mistake of hostel, I like that place but people should be more respective! I usually sleep very well, but some silly drunk guy come around 3 am and was so noisy. Unfortunately its not the worst what’s happened next, because that guy was probably very naughty and he made himself in the room with 8 people! He was loud, very disgusting and people should know that! If you come from bar in early morning doesn’t mean that everybody fell sleep and you should not do this! Go to private accommodation or pay in the night club you….!

The place is in the middle of the market, 5 minutes from the station. All shops, restaurants, transportation, and temples are nearby. The staff is very chilled and helpful, giving recommendations on the best places to eat. The dorm is spacious with extra large trunk to lock your things. The common area is cozy and even has a guitar and a ukulele. There are some jazz bars in the area as well.

The most annoying thing was that there was some advertisement outside the hostel on the shopping street from 9 to 5. It was the same couple of sentences on repeat all day long. The hostel tried to complain but it didn’t result in anything. Luckily I wasn’t staying inside during the day.

Hana Hostel is the best I ever been. For me , I'm a adventurer . I like to move the differ hostel , In order to dig some fun and new place. I neve have one hostel would make me want to stay for so many days. Even I check out and fortunately I can rebook and come back here again. I know this hostel is so full booking always .But I'm lucky. The location is too good for the tourist , go every where is so perfect . Subway , Bus station, CANAL CITY , 24 EON supermarket , to HAKATA or Tenjin ,what ever you wanna go , is so convenient. And friendly for a group of friend , single , of family even you have baby I saw. So many famous Reman is near here. I like by bus and walk to some place, it just 10-20 mins. Everything perfect !

1. Great location and within walking distance to major sightseeing spots. Two main subway lines and many bus routes are also available. 2. Ease of stay and no pressure on using common facilities. 3. Staff is helpful yet not over-passionate (which is good for me). 4. Strong wi-fi even in the dormitory room. 5. Personal space of each dorm bed was quite spacious--I was able to keep my carry-on suitcase plus backpack etc. all within my area behind the bedside curtains.

1. Dorm bed (mattress) was okay but probably not able to be categorized as comfortable. 2. I stayed in a 10-person shared dormitory room which was also full house on that night, and experienced vibrate every 5 minutes (someone's alarm snoozed automatically) from 7am until 8:15 in the morning... despite I was really tired I still decided to get up after falling asleep and being waked up every few minutes. I understand this really depends on who you meet on the night of stay when you choose to stay in a dorm, however just keeping a note for those who are sensitive as it seems like sound insulation isn't that good.
