This is a whole condo, with a living-room, toilet and and kitchen downstairs, and a bedroom and full bath upstairs. Everything is very clean and the construction is new. It was very refreshing after tiny city apartments. It is within easy walking distance of the Lalique Museum, which is truly worth a viewing. Our hostess was immediately available when we had trouble with the locks, for which we were much appreciative. There is a full-size Japanese bathroom with tub and shower, stocked with luxury shampoos and soaps. The hostess left us snacks, beverages, and even a bottle of champagne. I take an on-line class once a week and was able to sit at the desk downstairs and attend without disturbing my husband asleep upstairs. There are 2 small grocery stores within a half-kilo walk, and a number of small restaurants nearby.

Not so much a « not like » as be aware: this property is not in the town of Hakone or anywhere near the rail station. It is 8+ miles uphill by bus or taxi. From the bus stop, it is about half a kilo walk to the property. We took a taxi there on arrival, and our taxi driver seemed hesitant to leave us there, asking if we were certain. The neighborhood is a mix of newer housing and run down properties (it felt quite safe to us). The village, Sengokuhara, is smallish, and has a few dozen shops and restaurants. If you plan to eat out every meal, you might feel limited in your options. If you plan to take the bus down the hill in the morning, be prepared. It will be crowded. There is space for luggage, but it fills fast.

The room was very spacious and modern for Japan. You had a double story townhouse to yourself. The fridge was also stocked with various drinks and snacks included free of charge, which was lovely. The location is in a beautiful town.

Too much natural light, even with the blinds closed. An illuminated exit light at the top of the stairs that was very bright while trying to sleep. The check-in process can be quite complex. You have to call a number on an ipad to check in as well as locking the different doors in the house with different codes that can get confusing.

I had a fantastic stay at this property! The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep after a long day of sightseeing. The location was perfect—just 10 minutes by car from the Hakone Glass Museum and the Togendai cruise ship, with plenty of amazing tourist spots nearby. There were also several great restaurants in the area, making dining options convenient and enjoyable. I really appreciated the minibar facilities and the well-stocked toiletries, which added a nice touch of convenience and comfort to my stay. Overall, a wonderful experience—I would definitely stay here again❤️

We were in the Villa which is lovely and new. It’s not actually at the location the where most of photos are taken but it’s only 100m away and it’s sign posted adequately. They filled our mini bar for free. Extra towels provided.

Outside has UHF pest control(?) which you can hear and is quite painful if your hearing is good/you’re under 35-40. If you’re older, you may not hear it. The check in process has more levels of security than NORAD. Be prepared to video conference at the property for checkin. No laundry facilities and they wouldn’t let us use the dishwasher (despite it being part of the kitchen) which for extended stays is a pain.

Very good value for money. Two floor vila which can easily accommodate family of 4-5 ppl, two bedrooms , bathroom and toilet , small living room downstairs . The villa is very clean and well maintained. Private parking is on site, keep in mind that you will need a car since the public transport is not great in that area. Free welcome package with beverages and sweets was provided which is super nice ! Soft and clean bedding , so you can have a very good sleep. Easy online checkin process

Two things which are a little bit disappointing (but they are a fact and you just need to be familiar with them) , there is no real kitchen for cooking , so dont plan any meals preparation while you stay (7eleven / familymart are near by) , and also , there is practically no place to have a meal , since the living room is more for watching tv and having family time rather than having a meal

A perfect place to stay! Easy remote check-in. Very spacious, with two large and comfortable bedrooms upstairs and a cozy living room downstairs—offering both privacy and space for everyone. Located in a quiet area. The fridge is stocked with complimentary welcome drinks. The living room is clean, well-organized, and very comfortable. Everything is stylish and modern. There’s a parking lot right next to the entrance. It’s best to arrive by car. Plenty of restaurants just a few minutes’ drive away.

Stunning apartment in such beautiful part of Japan. We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is very spacious, well designed and fully equipped. They even thought of welcoming drinks and cakes, which is super nice attention. The staff was super kind and helpful. They even dropped us to the bus station when leaving the place. It was a real pleasure staying here ! I truly recommend it !

Great size. Comfy, stylish, free snacks and drink including beer and champagne. Bathroom great. All singing and dancing bath which fills up automatically and plays a tune when full. Water pressure fab and good toiletries. Would def stay again.

Would be nice to have enough coffee for each nights stay. Only 2 coffees for 2 nights for 2 adults. Need to say that when checking out you need to have the main front door open before pressing final check out button as got locked in. Had to go back into property and son had to climb out of window to get us out. Black out blinds are really needed as you are woken up as soon as it’s sunrise.

Our stay at Hotel Sengokuhara 533 was amazing! Even though the location was self check-in, the staff was incredibly responsive and the customer service was exceptional. We were very quickly assisted with arranging luggage delivery to our next hotel when we were checking out. When we left, I thought I lost one of my earbuds for good. Much to my surprise, the hotel staff found it and sent it along with the luggage that was delivered! Very clean and comfortable rooms. I highly recommend staying here!

This was a fantastic apartment. Very clean, spacious, great location. Every amenity was considered and provided. I emailed the owner regarding a query, they responded immediately and we were very satisfied. There was a free mini bar and snacks available. I would 100% recommend this place!

I would suggest the owner consider getting black out blinds for the living room. The outside porch light needs to be left on in accordance with Japanese law. This was a bit annoying when I was sleeping on the sofa bed. The owner was amazing when I emailed them about this, they explained it had to be left on, they delivered eye masks and two creme caramels as an acknowledgement to my discomfort. Customer service was incredible!
