We spent five nights at the Oriental Hotel Kobe, staying in one of their larger suites, and it was an absolute highlight of our trip. The location couldn’t be more central... right in the heart of Kobe, just steps from the Daimaru department store and only a five-minute walk from the main station. Our suite was impressively spacious, easily one of the biggest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. It even came with its own kitchen, which made it feel more like a luxury apartment than a hotel. The bathroom was another favorite feature, with a huge soaking tub that was perfect after long days of exploring. Breakfast deserves its own mention: it was buffet-style, but not your average hotel spread. It was beautifully presented, with a wide selection of both Japanese and Western options, and honestly one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever experienced. Overall, Oriental Hotel Kobe delivers the perfect mix of comfort, space, and LUXURY: Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a memorable stay in Kobe.

The mattress is VERY hard. Like very very hard.

I stayed at this hotel for one night after returning from a business trip, before flying out to Paris. I couldn’t have chosen a better place — the room was superb: beautifully furnished, comfortable, and spotless. The bed and linens were perfect, offering a great night’s sleep. The staff were exceptionally kind and spoke excellent English, which made everything even easier.

If I had to point out one small downside, it would be the ‘harbor view’ — the port is quite far away, and what you actually see is mostly a parking lot. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

I have to say that it was a wonderful journey and memorable experience definitely during our entire stay in the lovely hotel. Not only the clean guest room with the perfect harbor view, delicious food in the Italian restaurant, but also considerably convenient location for the city walk, super friendly hotel stuff. That was my wife and I's 15th wedding anniversary actually, all carefully laid out in our room and crafted seating plans at dinner in the restaurant made us many unforgettable memories for the rest of my life. That is humanized hotel just like a home and all stuff can supply their guests with the personal service humanely. There was small incident which resolved by the hotel perfectly and I have to say a thousand thanks to them again. I forgot something important in the safety box of the room and I was already on the train from kobe to Shirahama when I noticed finally. I called the reception and they told me that no warry about it, they will find it out and send it to my next hotel directly by the courier, they made it and I got the complete package in my hotel in Shirahama the next morning finally！ I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to you guys, you are the best! I would definitely stay at the hotel again with small gift when I go to kobe next time, I prefer to call it "Go Home!"

Our room was fantastic and well-appointed with a beautiful view of the harbor. The hotel is up-scale in a very high-end shopping area. The streets were quiet and easy to walk. Loved the products supplied by the hotel and their daily service. Breakfast buffet was 5 stars. Our Kobe beef dinner at the hotel was melt in your mouth. We enjoyed several nights and late meals in the bar as well.

Not just hotel itself but destination is also perfect! It's famous for its long history and it is fascinating.

Maybe staffs should not assume that your Asian face customers can speak Japanese fluently but vice versa, please do not assume they don't know Japanese and having their own chit-chat within Japanese.

Great location, a huge room with a super comfortable bed and pillows. High-quality amenities, ReFa hair dryer. Amazing attention to the details and guests' needs. Bathtub was a dream, really. And the staff are welcoming and very helpful. My special gratitude to Shiori Ikeda San, who organised delivery service for the clothing item I have forgotten in the room. It was sent to my next location, and she took care of everything in the best manner. Thank you

We loved everything about this hotel from the initial hello of the reception, to the appointment and comfort of our room to the dinner at the Italian restaurant. Service was impeccable. We plan to stay here every chance we get!

We didn’t realize there were phone chargers in the room because they were in a little black velvet bag, so chic. This could have been made clear to us, as we didn’t find the chargers until our last day.

The location was excellent. It was in a very nice, high end shopping area and close to the Port and Sannomiya station. The common areas were all beautiful, we love the history details they had.

Being very picky here but the main bathroom was showing signs of age and the Air Con wasn't easy to figure out. I think they are doing Air Con works just now so that might sort things out.

loved the room. fantastic shower and amenities were very good. bed was very comfy. location was in a quieter part of the shopping belt.

the breakfast was expensive for what we got. the quality was good but could have had more macronutrients and plant based proteins. ( liked the curry bun though) gym was super small . staff were helpful but had issues with communication sometimes coz of language.

The hotel is beautiful, rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Beautiful bar area and breakfast space.

The female bar manager and some female stuff did not treat us like they did other nationalities. My husband and I are westerners and felt like they didnt want us there for multipule. We have stayed at some stunning hotels and this is stunning. The staff just need to treat everyone equally. The male staff members where great!
