It is a love hotel if you don’t mind. Very spacious, big shower room, plenty of room for luggage. The breakfast was good.

Although the room was pretty clean I saw too much dust and hair under the mattress. The hotel is too far from central Kyoto, you might need a car. And the communication with staffers might be a little difficult if you don’t speak basic japanese and don’t understand how japanese love hotels work (they do everything by phone)

The room was wide, clean and has many amenities including a bath tub and karaoke.

It's far from the city center and there are no convenience store nearby. You need your own car to conveniently come and go from the place.

Privacy is the hallmark of a no-tell-hotel like this one. That's why the check-in, check-out and room access is a little different, but this all makes sense. Its all about discretion and privacy. Although originally created for purposes of physical intimacy, in todays world they are amazing value for travelers. Features at La Siesta in particular include but are not limited to a large room, large comfy bed, 72-inch TV, 24-hour room service, 440 channels of music, karaoke machine, house coats, slippers, etc.,..... Its like living in a mansion. What you do or don't do with your significant other is up to you. Not in downtown, rather just a short transit ride away from the mayhem of downtown. A big thank you to the staff and management for their fast, respectful service throughout our stay.

Little bit too far from Kyoto, but once you know which bus to take, its only 1 bus ride and 5 walking mins away.

Loved the karaoke and massage chair including the big bath tub. Free drink services.

The room itself was very spacious and tidy. Super comfy bed. Lots of amenities in the bathroom for you use and very clean bath. Staff were nice and efficient. Kettle and small fridge in the room

The bedroom floor wasn't the cleanest (a couple of sticky stains). Location is one hour from the city centre if you take public transport so have to have that in mind if you're a tourist. I didn't like the fact that they lock you in. It's true that they open the door the second you ask for it but I'd still rather have my own key.

These love hotels are really great to stay in because there is absolutely everything you might need (except some things I will mention later). All shower stuff, hairdryer, hair straightener, massage armchair, jacuzzi, sofa and table. The beds are also really comfortable and you can order breakfast in your room which is very small but still good.

Please note that this hotel is located VERY FAR not only from the center but from the city and transport routes. The bus comes once an hour, the taxi costs a fortune. Would have never booked this one if I knew how far it would be 😰 There's also no microwave which is actually the first time for me: even tiny ryokans have microwaves. Oh and the door: you don't have a key or a card, need to call the reception EVERY TIME you want to go out or come back. That's crazy inconvenient. Also note that for some reason there's one more Hotel on Google maps just across the river that's stated as La Siesta, although in reality it's Hotel Libera. Luckily you need to walk only 5 minutes to the destination but generally it's very hard to find.
