the room was great! spacious and clean. dryer function in the bathroom is efficient so we could wash our clothes at night and have dry clothes to wear in the morning. everything is provided for in the lobby so you can take and replace whatever you need in the room, including coffee and tea.

wifi only worked smoothly in the wee hours (2 - 4am). we raised it up and were told that the hotel was fully booked so everyone was using the wifi. 5G wifi password was 'given' but we were not given access to it. we got the wifi passwords of the other rooms but our devices could only detect wifi signals of our level. don't bother using youtube or Instagram because it takes up to 3 mins to load one page. the booking.com app page took ~20 seconds to load. it is disappointing as this is the only accommodation where we had issues with the wifi and it is located in Kyoto..

This property is well-located and a good budget option for a stay in Kyoto. The building is secure. The room is clean and the bed comfortable. As it is a budget place in a good location the room is small - you have to sit on the bed. There is a washing machine in the bathroom, which was great to have after a week of travel!

We had some trouble finding the key pick up place after arriving at the nearby railway station - I recommend triple checking the instructions before your trip! Once we found the place there was no trouble getting the key cards and finding the building.

This was the first "real" hotel my cousin and I stayed at while in Japan (others being Hostels and Capsule Hotels), so this felt like we were staying at a palace. It was great to have a shower and washer/dryer in our room. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff was also very friendly and accommodating; they even helped me locate a water bottle that I thought I had lost and held it for me to pick up later. The area was also very nice; we were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit while in Kyoto.

Great location, great staff, and great central location to Kyoto and all of its attractions. Convenient stores are not too far away, bus stops aren't either. The street is very quiet at night so sleeping is no issue. The washing machine in the room was a great plus! And the bathroom had both ventilation and also a drying system! That was by far the best, because we were able to wash clothes and dry them in a day. Amenities were all given and you can stock up from the entrance if you like. By that I mean tooth brush, towels, a quick coffee, hair brush, etc. Room was very big, by far an upgrade for a couple travelling through Japan for three weeks and that have seen it all. Iron for clothes can be borrowed from reception.

We stayed in JP INN Kyoto for 3 days. We were very impressed to the attention to detail information the staff provided in their binder, we were able to learn proper etiquettes during our stay. The room we stayed at had everything a regular hotel would have, perhaps even more! The linens, towels and our bedding were very clean and from the moment we walked in to our room, we felt very delighted that our room was well kept. The location was also very accommodating, just a short walk, less than 10 min or a quick taxi ride. Plenty of restaurants and cobini stores around the area and one of the best location if you want to tour Kyoto. Highly, highly recommend. We will definitely look into booking at JP INN in the near future when we visit Kyoto again!

The apartman is very spacious compared to japanese standards. Everything was clean. It's ten minutes walk from the train station. My room had a kettle, a microwave (however no plates or cutleries, so I did not use it), a washing machine (that I didn't use, as the staff told me the dryer function is very weak), a small desk, a double bed, and a very spacious bathroom with both tub and shower. Unlimited complementary tea and coffe is provided. Everything was clean. There is no cleaning during your stay, but you can use a hoover, and grab new towels or other amenities at the reception any time. My room had a street view, wich was lovely and silent. The house is in a more traditional street. There is a konbinin 4 mins walk, and many izakayas and restaurants in 10 mins walk. Overall I recommend this accomodation even for longer stays :)

I got a very long email in a quite frigthening style about recycling, and check-in, but in real life the staff very friendly, and the recycling was not as scary as in the document, and the staff was happy to help in everything. It's not possible to check in after 9pm. The drier function of the washing machine is weak. Based on the pictures I expected a tiny kitchen corner with plates, pans, cutleries, microwaves, and a cooktop, but I'm not sure if it was my mistake to book a room without a kitchen corner , or the booking was changed without my knowledge. At the end I wasn't unhappy because of the lack of the kitchen corner. They don't store luggages.

Spacious room in Kyoto with great facilities particularly the washing machine with a drying fan in the bathroom. All toiletries and coffee/tea were available with self serve restocking if required. The reception staff were friendly and gave good information on arrival. Bus stations, convenience stores, temples and Kyoto JR train station all located within walking proximity. Airconditioner, wifi, hot shower all worked very well.

Biggest plus is the private washing machine you have!! We already have stayed at a few hotels in Japan before coming to Kyoto. And in every hotel you had to fight to use the coin laundry machines, always big queues or other hotel guests waiting. Next to that, the detergent made the clothes smell so good! Room was clean and relatively big, friendly staff and really great drip coffee packs.

Only improvement would be to add a full body mirror and maybe a small standing make up mirror. Now there was only the mirror in the bathroom. Would be nice to be able to see your outfit before you leave the room.

Quiet, Clean, a brief walk from Kyoto Station. The personal washing machine was a huge plus. Was worried about not having a dryer but the built in dehumidifier in the bathroom did the job perfectly. As others have stated there is a large book of rules, however the host who checked us in summed it up nicely though, no parties, don’t yell, be respectful while in and around the hotel. Easy enough.

The only part that gave me some anxiety was the trash system; there were several separate trash receptacles for different types of trash, and several pages of the book were dedicated to their sorting. Ultimately I was a bit confused by the different types of plastic and how they were to be classified. We did our best with it but it did require some extra effort to make sure we were complying with the rules best we could. Ultimately though I believe these rules are due to the city regulation, and the hotel being surrounded by residential housing. I get the impression that not sorting the trash and loud guests get complaints and trouble from the city & neighbors. Ultimately just be respectful and do your best to keep trash to a minimum and it’s a great spot!

This place was super clean, and perfect for what I needed. It had a kettle and fridge, and a private bathroom, which even had a washing machine - a very welcome facility with the hot and humid weather! The bed was very comfortable, and the area was quiet and dark. A short 10 minute walk to the main Kyoto station - I managed to get everywhere else by bicycle. I loved having my own little space!

The only downside was the lack of storage space - only a couple of hooks. I ended up using the dryer to hang my clothes. There is plenty of space to put a set of shelves or a small wardrobe in here, or even somewhere to lie a suitcase would be helpful!
