Location and the comuns spaces are awesome, they have 4 washing and drawing machines, it a super plus. You get drinks if you opt out of room cleaning. The staff is really nice! Minana great recommendation!

To make it a 10 they need to insulate better the room doors you hear a lot the other guests getting out of their rooms.

We stayed here for five nights, everything was great. First the location, the hôtel is very close to the train station and there’s many restaurants nearby. We arrived early and left our luggage at the hôtel. The staff was excellent recommending restaurants, drinks and places to visiter. The room was quiet and comfortable, the library and short movies in the evening was an interesting touch. The hôtel has an adult / classy “youth hostel” vibe with it’s kitchen, laundry, bar and library areas.

We have nothing negative to say about this hôtel, it’s an excellent place to stay.

We have a great staying experience in TUNE STAY KYOTO. The room is tidy and clean, the bed is sooooo comfortable, and the bathroom is clean with a separate shower and toilet. The location is very close to Kyoto station, around 5 mins. Therefore, it is very convenient to visit any place in Kyoto or even visit 宇治 or 奈良。 They even have a cozy library, where you can chill and relax, and a self-serve kitchen where you can cook or enjoy a simple breakfast with a cup of tea or coffee. As a foreigner who cannot speak Japanese, the staff at the counter of TUNE STAY KYOTO really save our life. They speak good English, so there are no worries about communication or asking any questions if any. Thus, we had a good experience starting from checking in till checking out of the hotel.

We really enjoyed the flexibility of the accomodation especially with the basement area. The rooms were small but truly the basement area made up for it being a relaxed and open space. It was great to have a full kitchen and dining area, fridges and cafe area. We enjoyed the books and movies available, which created a great atmosphere. The laundry was easy, and tried the hotel breakfast - awesome, simple bagels but tasty.

The aircon was a bit interesting, tricky that it could only be managed by the central control at reception. It was pretty cold, and if you turned it off of course the room got too hot. It would be useful to be able to manage how much fan setting was on.

This is our second stay at TUNE STAY KYOTO due to it being located within a 5 minute walk from Kyoto station, which made our travels during our trip extremely manageable. The staff does their best to accommodate your every need, and is upfront regarding tourist fees and such. There's also a variety of restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping options nearby.

Every time we returned to our hotel, there was a moldy, sewer-like smell that came from the room A/C. We never experienced this in the past and hope they do their best to remedy this situation for future travelers.

What not to love in this hotel, everything was great! If you want a stylish yet affordable hotel in Kyoto don't look further. The amenities are great, a spacious kitchen where you can cook or just eat takeout, a bar with delicious cocktails, they show short movies throughout the day in a super cool setting, they have countless books about Japan that you can borrow, and so much more.. The room was very well designed, we felt it was spacious for a hotel room in Japan and were able to store our luggage easily. The location is perfect, it's right in the centre of Kyoto and you're surrounded by delicious restaurants. The staff was so lovely and thoughtful, I couldn't recommend it enought!

The hotel was very pretty and it was cool that there were movie showings every night! There’s also a gin bar and it’s a ten minute walk from Kyoto station which is nice if your coming from Tokyo to Kyoto!

It was far from the nightlife. There was a ton of restaurants that were opened late by the hotel some were even opened when I was walking past the bars. You could Uber back to the hotel when there are no more trains or buses left. I just opted to walk and it was nice! I felt very safe and there were people leaving restaurants when I got closer to my hotel. I just needed a more younger crowd at the bars and it was easier to talk to people as a solo traveler.

I loved how this hotel worked. Common areas mixed with your own space and bathroom. It was clean and the beds were really big and comfortable. The staff were so helpful and our kids were made to feel welcome (6 and 8). Laundry and kitchen were great. The layout of the hotel itself was so fun. We loved just sitting in the bar area cooling off and having a drink. It made us feel so comfortable and yet it was styled so well and also felt just a bit fancy as my kids put it 😊

The only downfall is the location potentially. We had to take buses to the temples and it felt too far from the monkey park and bamboo forest so we didn't do these. We personally did not enjoy buses as a mode of transport in Japan so potentially this is just a personal view on location 😊 we were traveling with 2 kids under 10 and seating on the buses in Japan is very minimal. But don't let this put you off staying here. It is such a neat place to stay 😊

Honestly, don’t want to write this review, because once word gets out, I’m sure this hotel will be booked out continuously. Just an amazing hotel, stay and experience here. - 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Station, but there is a LUUP rental and parking spot right next door; - Amazing facilities; clean modern coin laundry, onsite bar/restaurant, small private sento/onsen, modern clean communal kitchen, an amazing library and art space; - Has movie screenings in evening (mostly avant garde art and international movies); - The library/art/relax space is just amazing to chill; - Design is similar to a modern 5* Hotel (think Frank Lloyd Wright, Andaz or Park Hyatt); - Room was small but super clean, comfortable, fast internet and nice mini-fridge and air-conditioning; - Staff were all superb, fast, friendly and efficient; - Located on a street chock full of high-end but also reasonably priced eateries, cafes and 7-Eleven a couple of minutes walk away.

- For sure it’s getting harder and harder to book a room, because the place is such great value at an amazing location.

Very good stay. Nice lounge. Good cocktail bar and sofas on b1 to hang out with friends. Possible to store luggage. Towels and other necessities are free to take within need. Possible to do cooking/ laundry if needed tho drier only 10 min and multiple cycles needed. Bathroom is specious and sink is outside so if friend stuck in bathroom, sink help out to brush teeth etc. Location of socket near bed is also nice. Location of hotel is close to station so very close reach to main areas by bus
