Convenient location close to Kyoto station. Where you can also take buses (More common in this city than the metro in Tokyo or Osaka), that will take you to the major tourist places. (Recommend using the Japan Travel Navitime for planning transport, tells you which bus stops, where, etc.) Comfortable and modern. Quiet and peaceful. Had a ‘snack room’ which was nice. washing machines in basement. (not many or modern). Many little restaurants and convenient stores around. Beware, it is behind (and ‘hidden’) the Tune Stay hotel. So when using google maps or taxi, etc. use this better. Outside on street there is NO sign of ‘The Hideout’. Have to go through the Tune Stay hotel to the back (like a “secret door”) The neighborhood is not the prettiest, but it is convenient for grabbing public transport and trains for connections. Within walking distance. Would consider staying again.

What a gem! It's spacious, clean well-equipped and conveniently located 10 min walk from Kyoto station! The staff was friendly and accommodating and spoke English as well. I wish I had stayed longer.

It was a little difficult to find initially but then the name makes sense. It's a gem of a hideout and it's tucked away unassuming behind another building. There's no parking so forget it if you have a car and no bike rental on site. But I'm really stretching for anything to criticize It was lovely.

The location was perfect for Kyoto station and lots of restaurants too. The corner suite with panoramic views was great. Very comfortable large bed, the bathroom was equally excellent with an amazing shower. I would also recommend relaxing in the library area and watching a short film. So peaceful. The complementary snacks and hot and cold drinks were a nice touch Tip: The laundry self-service was good value and convenient.

Our room was not made up the first time, and we had to contact reception to resolve. You had to walk to reception as the QR code method wasn't working.

It was a short walk from Kyoto Station which we absolutely loved. Food around the area is abundant. There’s even a little restaurant at the corner of the street and across it, FamilyMart. The hotel itself was incredible. The facilities were so stylish. There’s even a 24-hour bookstore where you can also lounge around. The two different lounges at the Hideout building were also so cool. We made sure to make full use of the coffee machine and the snack bar. Our suite was so clean, comfortable, and absolutely beautiful. We plan on coming back!

Hideout was the highlight of our accomodations for our whole Japan trip. It's an annexed section of the Tune Stay Hotel. Hideout guests get their own lift AND private games room and a whole bar filled with drinks (soft and alcoholic) and snacks to take at your leisure at no extra cost! This was such a great feature! Pottering about the amazing library was so nice too! Staff and amenities were fantastic and the location is very close to Kyoto station so was a winner all round! There is also a great pizza place called Centro a 3 min walk from the hotel for when you want a change from Japanese food.

No gym but that's just being picky. The hotel is wonderful!

Spacious room (huge, with a kitchenette). Quite. In room record player with an excellent mix of music to choose from. A games room stocked with assorted board games. Free alcoholic beverages (1 glass of wine, tinned G n T, unlimited cans of beer) and nibbles. The Hideout (shares a reception) is behind another (lesser) hotel which gives in an exclusive feeling. The decor is minimalist with clean lines. The bathroom/wet room is huge, with a separate loo. The lighting in the room was in sections and was motion activated (which is great is you need to go to the loo in the middle of the night).

No makeup or full length mirror. The complimentary slippers were poor. No tea towels.

The room was very big for 4 people with plenty of space for luggage and for kids to play. Well equipped kitchen so we could cook breakfast. The bathroom was spacious witu a large bathtub. Very stylish and comfortable- wish we could have stayed longer. The free wine and snacks were a nice treat! My family loved this property.

It was confusing to find as there is no signage outside. You have to enter the Tunestay hotel to get to Hideout behind. The 5pm check in is also very late (usually 3pm) so we had to hang out in the lounge area which was pretty crowded with everyone trying to check in at the same time. Beds could have been a little more comfortable but they were good enough.

Location was great, lots of restaurants close by, I loved the bonus added extra's, we stayed in the Junior Suite, some would say this is expensive, I found the price range excellent for the size of the room, the amazing facilities and also need to complement the staff, all were polite, informative and extremely helpful. The bonus options for the room were all explained prior to getting to the room, it was also thoroughly documented in the room, was a pleasure to stay somewhere and have this information up front, not check out and then think, oh, I never knew that was an option! You can't go wrong with this hotel, great for couples wanting a good, relaxing but fun night, you have access to books, records and many other bonus treats, you will not regret booking this hotel, try out the Gin Tasting, very reasonably priced also.

What didn't I like, well, not knowing this option was there previously, wish I'd looked at Kyoto sooner, see, we were already staying 18 days in Tokyo (BOOKED and paid for at single hotel) and made a few one night stays around here and there, this one I wish I had of been longer, it's all I could think of, honestly couldn't fault any aspect of the hotel.

Aesthetic was nice. Shower space and amenities were well laid out. Access to snack / drink bar was great. Very close to transport which was great and room was very sound proof. Laundry facilities and common kitchen in the basement were very helpful. Room had aircon in each room which was worthwhile. Amazing room and we had a great time!

Housekeeping could be improved i.e. the shower/bathrooms were not cleaned well and amenities not refreshed until requested.

Beautiful clean large rooms with amazing warm staff. The lounge with the free drinks and snacks is nice to have. We had a noisy room due to the rain and the staff refunded us one night and offered to change it for us. Highlight of the stay was the super kind receptions who went out of hey way to help. We wanted to return an item and the receptionist went out of her way to suggest to return the item for us. She went out on the street to speak with the taxi driver and guide him where to take us. Super sweet and helpful.
