This hotel makes you feel home while travelling and learning cultural of Kyoto. There are cards of places of interest as guide. The breakfast buffet serves continental and traditional japanese. Array of choices and quite delicious. I particularly enjoy the afternoon tea and evening happy hour drink. This hospitality adds the feeling of being pampered in my vacation mood. The beds are big (abt 120cm), comfortable, clean. I like the pillows that support well my fussy neck. Location: about 450 meters walkable distance to kyoto main station where you can choose to take shinkansen or local train to nara, uji, so on. There are array of restaurant to choose at train station mall, incl Isetan. I will definitely come back to kyoto and choose this hotel. It is one of the best hotels i have encountered.

From the moment we stepped into Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Ekimae, we were welcomed by a serene and visually stunning atmosphere that beautifully captured the essence of traditional Japan. The design was both calming and inviting, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle just outside. The staff were exceptional—warm, courteous, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel truly cared for and welcomed. Every interaction was met with a smile, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this hotel. It was the perfect base to explore the cultural richness of Kyoto, while also giving us a restful, rejuvenating place to return to at the end of the day. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience both the beauty and the grace of Japanese hospitality.

This hotel is great from the moment you walk up to the door. There is a beautiful courtyard with water running through it as you approach. All facilities were top-notch. The staff was incredibly attentive and assisted with all requests we had during our stay. They offer a breakfast buffet which was quite expensive, but ultimately worth the cost for the convenience, quality and variety offered. They also offer guests a free afternoon tea (which we did not get to attend) as well as a nightly happy hour (which we did). The happy hour ran from 5-7pm if I recall correctly and included free snacks (nuts, crackers, some local items), sake, wine & beer. It is quite a generous setup, and many guests sat around the dining area for a few hours enjoying the atmosphere. Very close to the main Kyoto train station, several restaurants, bus stops, etc.

The room rate and breakfast charge were both the highest we paid in Japan

My wife was injured and she could not walk properly. The hotel staff provided a wheel chair for use and also checked for us the nearest hospital that we could get consultation. With the wheel chair, at least I could push her around for two days before she recovered sufficiently to walk on her own. The hotel also had a free sake tasting session in the early evening which was enjoyable. In addition, there was a ramen shop next to the hotel which was tasty. We ate there twice!

The location. It was a short walk from Kyoto Station yet so quiet without the crowds. Plenty of eateries around. We tried the food halls In the basement of Kyoto Tower too. We were able to take day trips to the country side. The hotel is very generous with toiletries including face masks and mineral salts for hot tubs. It offers free beverages and desserts for tea and alcohol and snacks in the early evenings. I was really happy with my room. Clean, comfortable and a view of Kyoto Tower at night - awesome!

Best accommodation we have stayed at in Japan so far. Separate toilet, basin and bath/shower made life easy. All equipment was simple and intuitive to use and understand. Impeccably clean. Staff were always keen to help. Even the entrance to the building was attractive and appealing. Daily complimentary afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks were delightful. Easy walking distance to Kyoto station and bus stops, restaurants, food courts and shopping malls, with several convenience stores (Konbini) just around the corner.

Even though the room was not the smallest we have seen, we still had to choose between having a table and chairs to use, and being able to open our suitcases. A microwave in the room would have been great.

Location is perfect, just blocks from Kyoto Station and all the train lines. The breakfast, afternoon snack, and evening drinks really made this hotel worth every penny. The best part was the welcoming staff, devoted to making all the details of your stay perfect. Their front desk will take your bags before check in and after check out so you don't waste time with suitcases. Their unwavering professionalism and attention to detail was top notch. We had everything we needed, and they had everything we forgot to bring. They truly want nothing more than to make your stay as perfect as they can.

The rooms are a bit small compared to North American rooms, but not unexpected. The beds are soft, which may or may not be someone's style.

Lovely polite staff everywhere in the hotel from reception to dining & housekeeping. The hotel is within walking distance of the Kyoto train station also. The stunning & beautiful garden setting welcomes you as you arrive at the hotel. I particularly love the placement of the umbrellas. The little extras the hotel provide were also a lovely surprise. The free afternoon tea (I tried matcha parfait) & also the social hour where you could partake in sake tasting, wine & beer (again free). I made a tatami mat coaster as my craft exercise & that will be an ongoing memory of this lovely hotel. I also liked the little cards on each of the Temples & Castles. Gave a brief description of the temple, where it was, how to get there & opening hours. And finally a staff recommendation. I found the cards most useful! Lastly I need to comment on the breakfast. I'm GF & there was a brilliant selection of both Japanese & English food for me to select from. I'll be back 🌸⛩️

Everything was perfect 🌸

The room was incredible! It was clean and beautiful. We had a bathroom and a shower there. In the room you can find a kettle, a hairdryer and an iron. The location is perfect. It is not far away from Kyoto station and from Kyoto Tower. And the hotel itself is beautiful. The garden is decorated in Japanese style. We checked in at 23:00 and hotel staff was very kind. We also left our baggage there till evening, after our check out.

The location is convenient to everything, Kyoto station and bus terminal are about 8 minutes walk away, there is a 205 bus stop right in front that takes you everywhere, there are some restaurants near by and convenient store as well. Staff are super polite and well trained, the amenity area has everything you need including facial masks, toothbrushes and even hair oil! Room is spacious, quiet and super clean. Shower is strong and bed are comfortable. To add more, they have free snacks and drinks including beer, sake, plum wine and juice between 6-9 everyday! The hotel is very thoughtful in all aspects!

There is really nothing to complain about the hotel. The only thing was that it is hard to find when we first arrived. If the website can provide the name of the exit, it would have been a bit less stressful.
