The property was well located and reasonably comfortable. Its was clean and it was a traditional styled property. if your exploring Kyoto and what to feel that traditional stay and your not spending a lot of time in the property its great. two toilets was good for us and kitchen was adequate. Quiet at night.

We were 5 and the sofa was not that comfortable and only three people max could sit on it. Otherwise its sit at the table or fold a bed up into a sofa and sit on that. So not the most comfortable to relax in the evening. The need to go to the host to check in to get the keys (10 mins walk away) was a little frustrating especially as the door was key coded. Anyway that's a minor issue tbh. Enjoyed our stay

The location was very nice. The initial impression was fantastic with all the wood finish. The AC was going as soon as we got in was a nice touch. The rooms were spacious and the duel bathrooms was good for the 6 people we were traveling with.

The bath had tape on the window ledge as if it was damaged or they were in the middle of refinishing it. The wood and the tiling in the downstairs bath had black spots. If there as secure way of getting the passcode so that we do not have to go to once location and than travel to the final location to the apartment would be nice, but not necessary. The washer and dryer were difficult even though half of the group was native Japanese Nationals. I am not so it's hard for me to give details.

The location was just far enough from the crowds and noise but close enough to the Kyoto Station to walk everywhere, which was ideal. The house is traditional with all the modern amenities. We enjoyed drip coffee every morning, and it felt very comfortable with the nice zen garden for a view. You check in at a separate location, which was very conveniently located near the Kyoto Station, and they deliver your luggage to the home if you check in early. This was great for us since we decided to explore the city.

The shower/tub was completely separate from the rest of the bathrooms. We made it work for a family of 6, and once we figured out the hot water situation from the information binder, things went smoother.

Great staff. Very kind and helpful. Impressed with the house overall, no complaints. Our stay duration was 4 nights with 7 people and no problems. Well done to Machiya House team for making the process of checking in and out so easy.

The staff were very friendly and quick to rectify any issues. The house was clean and comfortable and easily fit 8 of us. Near everything you could possibly need in Kyoto.

The laundry machine takes a very long time to dry and instructions for use were a bit unclear. No blind in the shower window so the main room could look into the shower if the paper shades are open.

Clean, new. Nice bathroom, shower, washer. Quiet location within walking distance of Kyoto station.

Pillows and bedding comfortable but standard. would be nice if it were thicker padding.

Traditional design, very clean and wonderful location. Very easy to check in and out, loads of useful features and amenities.

Only one shower for group of 8.

Very uncomfortable and small couch. No area for a family to sit together and relax.

Suitable for our family of 4 adults. Stairs may be a bit difficult for very young, or very tall. But we were fine.
