Excellent value for money and we enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is very clean, and our room felt enormous (especially after getting used to small Tokyo standards). Location is convenient - one subway stop away from Kyoto station and many bus routes nearby. This is in a slightly quieter part of town but still just a 10-15 min walk away from the downtown/shopping area. They provided drink tickets for the downstairs bar every night, which was a nice bonus. We did not buy breakfast with the room - there are plenty of convenience stores nearby, as well as a Komeda’s coffee (which provides a small free breakfast with purchase of a beverage) just down the street. Others have complained about availability of laundry machines but this was not an issue for us. I also appreciated that there was an option to pay for laundry with Suica card!

I was a little disappointed that the bath/sauna facilities were only open in the morning and evening. As we were staying in the middle of July, there were a few days that we only went out in the morning and evening, and rested inside the hotel in the afternoon during peak heat hours. It would have been nice to have those facilities available in the afternoon.

Very modern design leaves nothing out. From the moment of check in, you know you are in good hands. The rooms are well appointed and nightly complimentary drink at the DJ bar is a nice touch. The property boasts both a steam sauna and different hot bath spa alternating days for men and women.

For some reason, check in is at 5 pm, but not to worry, you can drop off the bags and spend the day touring. The upside of this is that check out is also rather late at 2 pm

Our stay was truly enjoyable, thanks to the excellent facilities and thoughtful details throughout the hotel. One highlight was the public bath/spa, which offered the perfect way to unwind after a full day—whether that meant exploring the beauty of Kyoto as a tourist or decompressing from a long day of business meetings. Breakfast was another strong point. While the buffet wasn’t the most extensive, the quality more than made up for it. We particularly appreciated the freshly made items like pancakes, a classic English breakfast dish, and a tasty avocado sandwich. The complimentary daily drink for overnight guests, sometimes accompanied by a DJ set, added a nice touch of flair and relaxation to the experience. The location was excellent as well—within easy reach of Kyoto Station for day trips or train travel, and just a short walk (around 10 minutes) to the heart of the city’s shopping district. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The house-wear offered and the hotel amenities with the signature 'sequence' fragrance were truly excellent!

The only downside, unfortunately, had nothing to do with the hotel itself, but rather some of the behaviour from fellow non-Japanese guests. It was disappointing to see rules being disregarded in shared spaces like the spa (e.g., visitors taking photos), or unnecessary drama at breakfast over things as minor as how eggs were cooked. While the hotel can’t control every guest’s behaviour, perhaps more regular staff presence in communal areas—especially the public bath—could help maintain the serene atmosphere. Maybe it's time hotels start giving guest ratings too—just a thought! Hahaha..! :D Overall, a wonderful experience and a place we’d be happy to return to!

* Great location in an area which is neither to quiet or too busy. Close enough to a metro station to travel with large luggage. * There is a Spa and Onsen on site. Although I didn't use either, my wife did, and had a very positive experience each time. * Laundry facilities in the basement and the status of the machines can be checked directly from the TV in the room * Checkout can be processed via the TV * Breakfast was very nice, with a buffet style salad bar and a choice of cooked courses to order at no extra charge. * Umbrellas are available to guests. * Can stream online content to the TVs in the rooms * The staff helped to forward our luggage from the hotel to our next booking in Tokyo. The staff were great in general. * Nice, quiet rooms, and a decent size for Japan

* The beds were a little uncomfortable but having stayed in many hotels in Japan, this is a very common thing for western travellers.

We had a good family room. The beds were comfortable and the kids adored the huge projection screen that could be pulled down and we all enjoyed a movie on Netflix one evening! Good that there were washing machines to use and a luggage forwarding service available.

Breakfast was good value but would have liked some better buffet options or a couple more cooked choices. Got a bit fed up of having to order everything by QR code but it worked okay and enables a low cost but smart hotel. A few more washing machines would be helpful or a laundry service at an additional cost.

The staff at reception were very welcoming and helpful, which is not always the case in large hotels in Japan. You can choose from pancakes, English breakfast or sandwiches for breakfast with some other options from buffet, which was tasty and plentiful. The spa facility was nice, clean, not overcrowded and tattoo friendly!

There was a metro and a bus station nearby, but it was not so easy to get to the city center. So we always preferred to walk about 20 minutes rather than go by underground with a change, which would take the same time. In the evening there is bad traffic in the downtown town, so a bus would not save any time either.

The room was tiny but tidy, and it had everything one might need for a relaxing stay. The hotel had great amenities, I really enjoyed the spas (Yes, there are two!) that were for men and women on alternating days and are tattoo friendly!!! There was also a possibility to do laundry and a microwave to warm your food on the same floor. Location was good, there were loads of restaurants around and it was a short walk to the food market and the Kyoto railway station. Central location also for buses to get around Kyoto. On the first night we used our drink coupons and got our welcome drinks which was a lovely surprise!

The breakfast buffet was a bit unconvential, we usually just stuck to the menu options and didn't take much from the buffet.

Nearby to metro stations and a bus stop this hotel was the perfect location to easily access the main sights of Kyoto but still get a peaceful night's sleep as well. Easily walkable to areas such as Nishiki Market and retail shops and restaurants close by if you don't want to venture far in the evening. We shipped our luggage here from Tokyo no problems at all and the luggage storage facilities were great as well particularly with the later check in time. The room was a good size plenty of space for us and our 2 big suitcases and the shower was perfect after a long day sightseeing. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, highly recommend

Nothing!

Well maintained 4 star hotel with a good facilities such as restaurant, bath and sauna. Rooms are clean and spacious (for Japan). They do offer free welcome drink in a bar in the afternoon ;-) . Bath and sauna are clean and pleasant to use.

It is a minor concern, just to keep you aware. The location is a bit in between. You are one subway station away from the station. So traveling with suitcases would require going up and down (or 20 mins walking). At the same time it is also around 20 mins walking from the market and other tourist attractions. Or 10-15 mins by bus. With this it is neither suitable for easy trains access or tourist attractions access. Other than this the hotel is all right.

Stayed there in late April 2025 and I only have good things to say about this place. Location is good in terms of safety as well as accessibility. The gojo station is 5 mins walk and Karasuma is around 11 mins walk. If you do not feel like taking Karasuma line from Gojo to Kyoto station (1 stop away), you can always walk to Kyoto station checking out the Hongan ji shrine, kyoto tower and yodobashi. The hotel in itself is high tech such as semi automated self check, luggage storage etc. i am little confused about cleaning schedule as they did not come to clean the first day but came the second day. Maybe I did not read it the info well. So thats on me. They gave 1 free drink token.

I liked everything. Just that the price was a tad bit high for no such things like a good view or prime location. There were 3-4 laundry machines and everything was occupied at midnight. You might have to wait if it is a mandatory for you. Although the staffs clean out the machines if left for long so all good. Go during day or morning when most people are out for instant availability.
