The staff are excellent- always trying to help , although they did not have a Japanese/English translator- we were able to communicate using Google translate. The onset is a lovely oasis of hot and cold baths. Free noodles in the evening, ice cream and bottles of water were appreciated. Laundry is available as well. The location is absolutely perfect for Mara park and the JR train line. Starbucks is across the street, in the tourist information centre, where there is luggage depot , free walking tours and English translators. Alongside is a grocery store- fridge is in the room- and a great noodle restaurant and bakery-

I stayed there for three nights. This is a very unique place and the strong authentically Japanese flavour was both delightful and enriching. No shoes allowed on the tatami floors and well, it was spotless.- both comfy and fully immersive in the traditional Japanese lifestyle. I had a great view of Nara Eki- but the room was so quiet. It was fun to practise some Japanese with the friendly staff albeit they all spoke English. I was able to book a traditional tea ceremony just around the corner which was one of the highlights of my stay in Nara. There is an abundance of places to dine and wine in the area- modern and traditional, the quality never disappointed. I was able to walk to Nara Park but there are buses non- stop from. Nara station catering for an impressive crowd of keen tourists. For JR buses, you will need a pass to be purchased from the tourist information centre just across from the hotel. The rest of the buses accept credit cards - easily accessible even for an impromptu visitor.

As a western traveler this was my intro to onsen and it couldn’t have been better. Spacious and discrete baths with updates in the room as to how crowded they might be. Ive spent 10 days in japan since and i long for the comforts of this place. Massage chairs! Free popsicles! Toe socks and pajamas! Impeccablly clean and fresh rooms and common spaces. It was unique, and fun, and sooooo chill. We were in twin rooms as close as you could be to the train tracks, but with double windows the low rumble of a train was barely noticeable. Im still blown away that we stayed here at the price we paid:superb value. +easy luggage storage before and after.

Immediately by JR Nara Station, making it very convenient when traveling by train. The room was clean and with comfortable beds and PJs (for those who can fit standard sized Japanese PJs). One of the great things about this place was that they have a live update on the status of things such as each of the baths and the machines for laundry, so you can tell when things are available without leaving your room. If you lean toward the shy side and want to enjoy hot springs without other guests, you can wait until the feed says it's empty before going in. Although people could still enter after you, I think this makes it a lot easier for Japanese onsen newbies to enjoy and I'd encourage those who haven't tried it before to check it out. There are instructions on check in as well as plenty of signs to let you know how things work. After the bath, there's a small lounge with massage chairs that can be used for 15 minutes, which are quite wonderful as well.

This didn't bother me at all, but it is a place where you store your shoes upon entry but they don't provide slippers for walking through the hotel. There are slippers provided for use in your room however. In general though, nothing really contributed to my experience in a negative way.

Very good location. Super helpful and friendly staff. They provided patches to you for free if you have tattoos and you want to enjoy their beautiful onsen. They also helped me to ship my luggages to next hotel. Room is small but super comfortable and beautiful. Breakfast is very nice.

My partner encountered some strange behaved guys in the onsen with full body tattoos in this hotel. I understand why they restricted people with tattoos in the onsen. But it seems some people didn't care at all about their tattoos. They didn't let the normal citizens like me enjoy the onsen without making an effort to cover the tattoos, but they let some not-well-behaved gangster looking people going in the onsen without covering their tattoos. Feeling very contradicting.

The hotel is conveniently located across the train station so when you arrive, you only have to cross the street. There is a Starbucks at the train station, which helps with morning coffees if you do not want to go for the typical Japanese breakfast at the hotel. As usual in Japan, the rooms are small, but we were able to separate the two single beds and put the bedside table between them. Everything is provided shampoo and so on. At 9:30 there is free Ramen and drinks at the restaurant. The onsen was a great experience with this chilly weather.

Modern onsen hotel with great accommodations. Breakfasts are fantastic with a wide variety to choose from. Complementary ramen is offered at night. My wife loved the onsen and found it to be modern, clean, and had a variety of baths which were indoor and outdoor. Free ice cream is offered after use of the onsen and free massage chairs are available. A channel on the tv would let you know the congestion of breakfast or the baths at any given time. The location is as convenient as it gets being next to the train station and on the main road with entertainment and a straight shot to Nara Park. The staff was very professional and friendly and took time to make sure we, as foreigners, understood everything about the hotel and what it provides.

The onsen is not available to anyone with tattoos. Some places we stayed on our trip would allow the use of tattoo stickers/tape to cover but here if you have tattoos you will not be using the baths regardless of covering them up.

We chose this accommodation based on our excellent experience at Onyado Nono in Matsumoto and proximity to the train station. We also like the full breakfast offered, no-shoes in the hotel and clean luggages policy. We also appreciated the free laundry and minimal cost for drying.

Although I enjoyed the massage chair several times during our stay, the women’s onsen was too crowded, so I did not enjoy it even once. Fortunately, my husband visited the onsen every day, and he enjoyed it. It would be nice to have a reservation system to limit the number of guests in the onsen at the same time.

Absolutely fantastic location by Nara train station. Indoor and outdoor onsen with additional facilities and amenities. Lots of character - a hybrid between a conventional hotel and a ryokan. Staff was good and spoke English at checkin.

I was not aware from the listing when I booked that this hotel is a sort of “premium” brand line extension of the Dormy Inn hotel chain rather than a more traditional ryokan. The whole hotel is floored with tatami so you have to leave your shoes in little lockers near checkin - just something to be aware of. Perhaps the worst pillow I’ve ever had at a Japanese hotel.

Hotel is just steps away from the airport limousine bus and the Nara JR station. A mall, eateries and supermarket are all nearby. I especially enjoyed the natural hot spring baths and it was not crowded during the late afternoons. I loved its breakfasts, quantity and quality wise and value for money. Walking distance to Kintetsu Train station, an area which is very lively, crowded and plenty of food options. It was my second stay at this hotel.

We took the largest room but still had to stand our suitcases vertically up to save space. We were staying for 4 nights so it would be helpful to have overhead shelves and hooks for our jackets and other stuff.
