Location was right beside the Shinsaibashi shopping street, and washing machine was great to have! Staff were relatively helpful but did not really understand English well. Room size was big enough for a family of 3 to stay in.

Lack of facilities within the hotel (etc restaurant) and hotel decor is simple.

The location is just a half-block away from the Shinsaibashi shopping st! Half-block away from a Family Mart. Good quiet location on a side street. The included washer/dryer combo unit was helpful and the shower room has a drying function that helped to dry clothes overnight. Free detergent from the front-desk. Friendly staff who spoke English. Nice and comfortable king size beds! Enjoyed the mini kitchen with toaster oven, microwave oven, mini-fridge, sink, plates, bowls and utensils.

Have to pass the smoking room every time we enter or exit the hotel and that area smells like cigarettes. The toilet room does not have a sink, you have to go to the other room to wash your hands.

The Takuto Hotel Very good hotel, big rooms, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds and great location around the shinsaibashi shopping street. * No too far from the shinsaibashi subway station. The walking distance from Dotonbori is about 15 minutes. * The staff is very nice and helpful. There is a small kitchen and a washing machine in the room as well, very convenient for those who need to do laundry. There were not too many complementary items in fact they have them at the reception for sale if you were interested. * They had tea and coffee but there was not machine to make the coffee and not sugar either. However this hotel was good and well located, only a 3 minutes walk from that big Avenue where they have all the luxury brands stores. * I will definitely recommend it. * I

For me was the lack of complementary items, for my Husband the lack of shower curtains.

The Takuto was a very comfortable and super convenient stay for our family, and exceeded our expectations. The room was more than big enough for the three of us with our three suitcases to spread out, and having the kitchen facilities was great - while we ate out most of the time, having the ability to heat something up from the conbini if we felt like it was fantastic. The washer/dryer in the room was awesome and got a great workout - we used the dryer function in the bathroom which was incredibly efficient and dried our clothes in a couple of hours. The location was great, a short walk from Dotonbori and about 10 minutes walk from Namba station, and even less to Shinsaibashi station. Staff were accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended!

Location is great, To the left, it's the main street with Christmas lighting. To the right, it's the main shopping street that extends all the way to Dotonbori. Plenty of convenient stores, food and shops. Room size is acceptable which suits our family of 4 very well. Staffs are also very friendly and helpful in assisting guests needs.

A few minor issues, there are limited cloth hangers available. The washing machine is not well maintained. Also because of the layout of the room, there is limited space for a dining area for us, although didn't really matter as we ate out mostly.

○ By far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in Japan. ○ Location was great, just next to a shopping street and close to train/metro stations. Can walk down to Namba easily from here. ○ The room was incredibly spacious with plenty of room for luggage and moving around. ○ The shower is much larger than most Japanese hotels. ○ The kitchenette and washer were other huge pluses. Also they have instructions for using the shower room and fan to dry clothes relatively quickly. ○ Free water and other amnesties were much appreciated.

○ As mentioned in other reviews, only one elevator can mean quite a bit of waiting, especially on the morning of check-out. We were on the 2nd floor, so could easily take the stairs. If you’re higher up, this might affect you more. ○ Bed was average for me, but I slept well because I was so tired.

This place was a really good pick for our Osaka visit. Only blocks from the train station to get around was very helpful. Just a block away is a major shopping strip that features numerous dining options. While the hotel room wasn't large, it was spacious enough for our family of four without any issues, along with a kitchenette to make snacks. The washing machine came in very handy. Overall, I would be glad to stay here again.

There was the smell of smoke on the bottom floor, likely from the smoking room.

Walking distance to Shinsaibashi Parco, Daimaru, Dotonbori and walkable all the way to Namba. Just be prepared to walk. The whole stretch of the shopping street is so crowded with people. Many dining choices available. Room is long rectangular so the doorway is a little squeeze for my family of four. One of the hotel staff speaks English. Though the hotel is not in the heart of the actions, it is considerably in a good location. Overall the hotel provides all the basic necessities for a comfortable stay.

Noises from the streets. The cars and bikes seem to like revving their engine on the next street. Pillows were too flat.

Location is just great - close to a metro station and only 10-15 minutes walk from Osaka’s vibrant and dazzling Dotonbori district. Another important advantage for our family - there’s a room with four beds, thus we can all stay in one room each having a personal bed.

No one cleans the floor under beds. We occasionally looked there (looking for something put under a bed by the kids) and were pretty… disappointed. Having spent one week in Japan we believed this country is super-clean everywhere. But this hotel proved we were wrong.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful when one of my group member's experienced difficulty in breathing on Oct. 6. They called Emergency and medical staff arrived quickly. She had to be put on a ventilator and taken to an Osaka hospital. She remained in Critical Care until she was able to return to Hawaii on Oct. 25. The hotel staff also arranged for us to keep 2 rooms for an additional night. This allowed us time to find another accommodation nearby the hospital. We were supposed to depart for Sendai on Oct. 7 and Tokyo (from Oct. 8-12) but had to change our itinerary. Thank you very much Takuto Hotel!!
