I like the hotel design and the location. It is so near to the TV Tower and Odori Park. It is near to shopping hall too. "Donguri" (bakery shop) is opposite the TV Tower. We love the bread there. Upon arrival at Sapporo, we took a bus from CTS airport and it stopped directly in front of the hotel which is so convenient. Yen 1300 per person . The staff are very helpful. I enjoy the onsen and coffee at the lounge too. Thank you.

Great location close to Sapporo TV tower, Ueno park, only a few blocks from the main Sapporo JR station and next to blocks with entrances to the nearest underground walkways connecting the difference metro stations. The day spa, onsen is very luxurious, with a large onsen area taking up half of the floor. It includes a relaxation lounge with views to the west across the city from the 14th floor. It's very popular as a wedding venue. With a bridal service and shops in the building. The room was clean, cosy and had views to the west from the 19th floor. Room service was also very professional with an attention to detail.

Superb location to restaurants and Odori Park. The hotel is spotless, spacious and relaxing. The inhouse restaurant is also spacious and has an extensive breakfast selection. This review is based on a winter stay. Lastly, the pick up for drivers is very convenient and is right at the front door. Rooms are the perfect size and immaculate.

A small inconvenience was the laundry facilities. Due to only being space for 3 dryers and 3 washers, you could line up for an hour or more waiting for an available machine in the early evening. Also the coffee and tea in the main waiting room is locked away at 8pm.

The location is fairly okay, just a little tough to walk to with luggage. The room was very amazing and completely out of my expectations for the pricing. The breakfast was one of the better ones and I would say is very worth it for the price I paid for included, with a huge selection of food and incredible taste. The hot spring was very nice, and the complementary happy hour drink and free flow drinks and ice cream was a nice touch. The service at the hotel was also one of the better ones I experienced.

The hot spring closed at 10pm, which was too early if I were to return late, and would have been nice to peruse the hot spring after a late night.

The hotel is sophisticated and elegant, the beds were so comfortable and the rooms were larger than id grown used to on our stay in Japan! The under bed storage was handy as well. The staff were very helpful and friendly. And as a bonus we had a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance!

On their website I had read that they give out tattoo cover up stickers for use of the onsen - but they don’t (I recommend heading to bic camera and getting “flesh coloured” sports tape to use instead). But that’s the only flaw!

The Monterey Edelhof is a modern and beautiful hotel, inside and outside. Halfway between Sapporo and Odori stations and within a short walking distance of both, and just a bit longer walk to the Susukino area, it is conveniently located. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. The four elevators in the main tower are impressively fast.

While the in-house public bath/spa is beautiful, you pay an extra 2200 yen/person/day to use it, so we only used it once. We similarly skipped the breakfast buffet, which at 4000 yen/person is quite expensive (considering that we had a great soup curry dinner for two, with drinks, for less than 5000 yen total).

⸻ I had an excellent two-day stay at Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo. The location is unbeatable—just next to Sapporo Station and surrounded by beautiful attractions. The reception staff were welcoming and professional, and the lobby was elegant and inviting. My room was spacious, beautifully furnished with five-star quality décor, and equipped with a full range of amenities. It also featured outstanding noise insulation, ensuring a peaceful and restful stay. Although my reservation did not include breakfast, I regret not booking it online in advance, as it would have been available at half the price. I also didn’t have the chance to experience the on-site hot spring on the 14th floor, which I heard is a highlight of the hotel.

We took a corner room with a view. Western style layout with plenty of space. It was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was really special. We tried hard but could only sample a fraction of the amazing range of food on offer. It is fun to watch an omelette being made using chopsticks instead of a spatula. Hotel is in easy range of shops, station and bus/taxi/subway.

Breakfast option was an excellent start to every day.

My review would have been 10/10 if it wasn’t for an issue with the room temperature. We prefer to sleep in a cool/cold temperature setting and had set the thermostat to 21 degrees Celsius before sleeping. We had woken up in the middle of the night at 3:30AM because the air conditioning was automatically shut off and the air vent started blowing extremely hot air. The temperature reading on the nightstand clock was at 30 degrees Celsius at 3:30 in the morning. It made it impossible to fall back to sleep and it easily the worst night we had.

1. Lighting in room is great for my feeble eyesight. Size of room is optimal for quest enjoyment. 2. The arrangement for the public bath at the Hotel is exceptional as I've stayed in different hotels in Hokkaido during this trip. The Hotel spends efforts, including staff, in running the public bath. 3. It's a pity that I only found out that there's a guest lounge on 1/F (Japanese, i.e. G/F) at my last night of stay. 4. There's a microwave on my floor. Very Convenient! Not sure of other floors. It's rare. There was 1 and were a few for the whole hotel in other hotels I were staying In Hokkaido.

1. Inadequate number of washing machines and dryer machines (in particular). I needed to wait for hours for a dryer. Some guests occupied the dryers even after their clothes had been dried (drying cycle had been finished). 2. We got back to our room on the 2nd night and found that the air conditioning system delivered warm air. It's too much for us. I rang reception for help. Nothing could be done and suggested that we switched off the air conditioning unit and opened the window. A staff came to our room, opened the window and let's knew how to manage the opened window. Interestingly, while I was waiting for the dryer outside the laundry room on 1/F (Japanese, i.e. G/F), the staff come to our room passed by a couple of times. Guess guests in other rooms were also in need of assistance.
