Friendly staff, reasonably sized room, definitely compared to other tokyo accommodations. Comfy bath tub, nice bed and great location

The drain outside of the bath tub kept flooding when we would pull the plug out of the bath. It would come up quite a lot so we had to moderate the amount of water. First time it was quite disgusting, but they fished our room. Afterwards it still flooded but not as dirty or smelly as before and if we would pull the plug only half way it was fine. The cleaner often put the bag of dirty laundry and the cleaning tools in the Elevator for the whole duration of the cleaning process of all the rooms. It wasn't dirty or smelly but quite odd to almost airways at half the Elevator full with cleaning things. Kind of felt less welcoming and messy.

Friendly staff, and very helpful. I liked the location and convenience of the room with my own bathroom. Confortable bed, clean room, and good a/c. Perfect for a solo trip, I felt safe. Inaricho Train station is 5 minutes walking from the hotel. No issues whatsoever.

Superfriendly staff, it was a pleasure to communicate with the people at the reception, no matter the language barriers. They did everything to accommodate me well and gave me another day to explore Tokyo by taking care of my luggage until the evening. Thanks so much! The room was bigger than expected, based on other reviews, and I found it actually quite spacious for Japanese and Tokyo standards. Bed was very comfortable and the hotel in general easily accessible via Ueno. Good place to stay in Tokyo!

There was some leftover dust in the corners and edges of the shelf at the bedstand. I don't mind too much, but if you're high on cleanliness, that might be a turn-off.

ELE Hotel was a lovely spot for my 3 nights in this neighborhood in the beginning of July. I chose it for its proximity to Ueno Station, from which I was leaving to go to Narita airport. My double room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The AC, kettle, and mini-fridge worked well. I liked the "desk" along the wall because I could sit there to get ready or eat. The bathroom was fine--as a shorter person, it took a bigger step over the tub wall for me to get into the shower. The walk is a little bit longer to the train station, but I knew what to expect based on other reviews.

I knew to expect no laundry or food on site, so it's not that I didn't "like" this fact. There is a corner store about 3 blocks away, Aeon's "MyBasket Kappabashi Minami." Plus you can walk to shops & restaurants in either direction in Askakusa or near Ueno station.

Good location, 15mins walk from the UENO station, 5 mins from the subway station. Neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. The view from the room on Tokyo was really nice (we stayed on the 9th floor). There are only a few rooms per floor, so it is very quiet at night. Spacious room, with well-equipped bathroom. All you may need, plus a small fridge, a kettle to boil water and a tea pot. We had a very good night's sleep. The Internet was rather slow. Very strict check-in time, but that's usual for the whole Japan. They allow you to leave luggage and they take it upstairs for you, so that's fine. Overall good value for this price in Tokyo!

It’s within 10 minutes walk from Ueno Station and is away from all the noises in the popular area. The room is clean and basically has everything equipped for a few nights’ stay.

There’s only one room card provided and the card is required to access the elevator. That was a bit inconvenient if we decide to return at different times. The room is said to be for two people, but in fact the bed is rather small, so it’s perfect for one person but a bit uncomfortable for two people.

The room was a good size and the staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the location right in the middle of ueno and just a short walk to asakusa. Plenty of nice areas around to eat and drink and metro stop nearby!

More of a suggestion but there was only one elevator so it took quite a while to go up to the room or down to the lobby when there were other people around or during the cleaning.

This hotel was very easy to find and was pleasant overall. The staff was amazing and made everything a breeze. Had a little trouble with locating my booking when I arrived but the employee working there resolved the issue immediately and with great efficiency. There were a number of convenience stores and metro stops nearby that made getting around convenient and plenty of points of interest to explore as well. The Tokyo sky tree and Sensoji Temple were close to the hotel. Using the metro from the airport to get here was simple and appreciated.

This isn't a negative of the hotel but just an observation. I'm on the taller end as far as average humans go (5'11" or ~180cm) and take up more space than the average Japanese citizen so the bathroom was a bit smaller than expected. Nonetheless, the bathroom was clean and had everything I needed, just small in space.

The rooms were quite spacious. The facility was standard. The building was clean. The security to enter the hotel building was also quite unique. Overall, the experience was quite good and considering the price for one night in a holiday season like year end, I felt that it exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend for single travelers or couples.

I could not find any closet space inside the room. That was a little surprise to me because usually in business hotels in Japan, they do have atleast a very small closet space where you can hang your clothes and jackets etc. The entrance lobby could be more developed to accommodate some sitting area with coffee / tea.
