I really like this hotel, it is small sized but everything is functional. The hotel designed for guest in mind and supply all things we need and very efficient to cut all unnecessary things. The breakfast are fresh and the matcha tea were really nice ( not sugary). I would give 10/10, if they give us a better room with view. Our room window could not be opened and no view from room
Except no view and window couldn’t be opened, I could not think anything wrong about it

Onsen and sauna, although you cannot use the onsen if you have tattoos. Post onsen snacks of ice cream and pro biotic drinks are available for free. Excellent location, easily walkable to Shabuya and Harajuku stations. Close to train tracks but you can barely hear any trains. The shower was excellent, powerful and easy to adjust temperature. The hotel offers a free late night ramen, although we were not made aware of this at check in and only realised on our penultimate night.
The standard double room is very small, I would consider opting for a larger room if you are two adults with a piece of luggage each. The pillows are very small, and were a little uncomfortable. We were given additional pillows but didn’t make much difference.

You're not going to get a better location than this! It's right in between a few different convenient subway lines, and is particularly good if you're not using a JR pass and don't need to use the yamanote line all the time. It's right on the border of Harajuku and a quick walk to yoyogi park. The staff has a little tablet with translator software set up at the front desk, so they're able to help with pretty much anything you might need. They have complementary late night ramen noodles, which was a lifesaver a couple of times. One thing to be aware of is the tattoo policy for the public bath. It's easy to miss this in the facility notes, but it's strictly prohibited for anyone with tattoos to use the bath and they're pretty unwavering about this rule. Additionally, my room didn't have a bathtub. I ended up going to a public sento in the neighborhood a couple of times because if you're in Japan and not taking baths, what's even the point? Public sento was super nice though, so in a way maybe the strict dormy inn tattoo situation was actually a secret blessing, who can say?

First of all, the staff of this hotel is incredibly helpful. Most of them speak English, but even when they don't, they still try and use translation devices to communicate. They would always answer all our questions and help us as much as they can. Second, the location of this hotel is incredibly convenient. It's at walking distance to Shibuya, Yoyogi and Harajuku. Hence, it covers 3 of the most touristic areas of the city. If you want to go further, it's also at walking to major JR and subway lines, so it's very easy to explore Tokyo from this hotel. Lastly, it's also close to less crowded areas where you can find small restaurants with good food options.
There is nothing that we did not really appreciate per se, but we can be critical on some things. The rooms are a bit small but we knew it beforehand, so we were expected it. Also, we used luggage transportation from this hotel to our hotel in Kyoto and it took 2 days to send our luggages to Kyoto, while when using the exact same service from our hotel in Kyoto to send back our luggages in Tokyo, it took only one day, so we don't really understand why the time to transfer is different from the exact same service. We were prepared but we would have appreciated a one day service.

I loved my stay at Dormy. I'd go to say, it was the best experience I had for my entire trip, even when comparing the 5 star hotels. Here is why... Great location, right in between Shibuya and Harajuku/Omotesando. (Maybe a little long with luggage to walk from station but doable or cheap taxi ride) I loved the communal hot bath/onsen, sauna and cold plunge. Especially the sauna! I looked forward to it at the end of everyday. The complimentary ice-cream and ice-blocks for after the hot bath. The complimentary freshly made hot noodles at night. Most people ate them in the lobby restaurant wearing their hotel supplied pyjamas. The free washing machines. Staff were really nice. Room was spacious in comparison to other Tokyo 3 star hotel rooms. Bed comfy! I booked in advance and got a great rate! I tried to book again for the end of my Japan trip but prices had tripled. If you book in advance and get a good rate, this is an excellent deal and great hotel! Aircon was great especially given it was a Tokyo heatwave.
I loved everything.

The breakfast every day had the same few options but we found ourselves excited to eat it, because the food was prepared very well and truly delicious. We also enjoyed the free late-night soba noodles as a snack -- it was very delicious. In addition, the free lounge clothes they provide are ridiculously comfortable; we wore them down to breakfast and late-night snack every day. We did not try the onsen/spa, but we did have some free probiotic/Yakult drinks right outside of it. The shower water pressure was great. I enjoyed the TV amenity as well (Access to Netflix if you have an account, and Youtube + others). The location was not as close as it could be to subways (~10-15 minute walk); however, this meant that the stay was in a more secluded area of Shibuya and very quiet. We were not disturbed by noise at all despite being near one of the busiest areas of Tokyo.
The room is a little small; however, it is definitely workable for two adults. The bed and pillows are hard but provide a lot of support -- I personally prefer this style, so I liked it. However, please keep that in mind when booking if you really need soft surfaces to sleep.

We had a very comfortable stay at Dormy Inn in Shibuya. The room was clean and functional, and the location was perfect - tucked away on a quiet side street, offering a peaceful retreat while still being in the heart of Tokyo with easy access to everything. The onsen was an absolute highlight. Although small, it was spotless, serene and unexpectedly delightful to find in a major city. Little touches really made the stay special - like free ramen and ice cream after using the onsen and the super comfortable loungewear provided (we joked about wanting to buy that exact set to bring back home!).
The room was very compact and just about manageable for two people, but that’s to be expected at this price point in Tokyo.

This is our second time (2018 & 2025) at this property, we like it for the proximity to our favorite neighborhood, Shibuya. It’s tucked away between Harajuka & Shibuya stations Loads of amenities - the Onsen, Sauna, laundry (free wash (drying 20 mins for 100¥). Hygiene products, room sandals…ice cube machine, gratis ice cream and Ramen snacks
It’s a but older now but we still like it and would stay again - we book the twin Hollywood room as my husband is tall, This was a corner room with plants of space for our luggage. The pillows are Japanese Style - a thin one and a very hard one, I pack a travel pillow anyways, my husband first thought he would not like them but found that it was actually very supportive way to sleep. The AC is in Japanese but you can translate it with a smart device.

Location is in walking distance to Shibuya station as well as Harajuku ~10 minutes either way but on a quiet enough street you can get some needed rest after your flight/ a day of walking Tokyo. Our room was overlooking some train tracks but the windows are well insulated and you can barely hear anything at all. The spa on site is excellent, featuring a nice sized onsen as well as a sauna and cold bath, all of which are very nice and kept clean by staff. The changing area of the spa is equipped with various hair, skin and shaving products which we found quite luxurious considering the price of the room. Laundry is available on site and you can even get a key at the front desk to lock the machines if you're worried about somebody walking off with it. Every morning there is free yakult (not name brand but still great) and in the evenings there is free ice cream (4 types to choose) and free ramen. You could happily spend an evening not leaving the hotel if not for it being located in such an amazing area. They also offer free pajamas to wear around the hotel and into the bathing areas. If you're not into public baths, the room shower has excellent water pressure and temperature controls.
The room is quite tiny, we booked a room with a double bed and the bed itself took up about 75% of the floor space. We didn't spend much time in here due to being out and about town but it is somewhat cramped.
