My third stay at this hotel, I love almost everything about it. It is fairly central, and yet not in the middle of all the hustle & bustle; easy access to MRT and trains, and the Shinagawa station is one of the Shinkansen stops, which is super convenient. I love the complex of the hotel, which is actually comprised of three different properties all interconnected. At the center, a beautiful garden with a lake, koi fish, a temple, and several paths where you can walk around and relax. The rooms are fairly spacious and have everything you need, usually featuring a bathtub and shower, a desk to work if you need, storage, an ironing board, etc. The rooms are a little dated though, it would be great if they refurbish them a little (super old plugs and switches, old style furniture, etc.).

Check-in time is way too late, and they are not flexible at all. I landed at 6.30AM on a red-eye flight, which I had alerted the staff of. Now, while I did not expect to get a room right away, I would have expected to be able to check in anyway, and pick up the key later on. Instead, I had to stay out until 3PM, by which time the check in was open and I got a room. I even says I was happy to pay for an additional half-day, but still no. I ended up getting the breakfast there, but since I had not checked in, I was not even allowed to pay the client rate, and I was charged full price as if I were just visiting (and we're talking about over 5,000 JPY.

-Great hotel design, smelled really nice in the hallways -You were able to open the windows to get fresh air -Good size room -Great check in staff, most hotels have strict check in rules 3pm, after 13 hrs flight from the UK I wasn’t feeling well and my husband asked the reception if there was any chance to check in early as arrived to the hotel at 10am and they accommodated us to check in at 12pm based on extra charge- they were extra mile for us so I was able to go to sleep straight away. - 7/11 on site in the lobby -Beautiful restaurant and gardens -Spare umbrellas if you need one during the raining season

The walking distance from the station is actually up the hill you can’t really walk it with your huge heavy suitcases and rain… we got a taxi from the station and the taxi driver took us to the wrong Grand Prince Hotel… I think there are 2-3 other hotels with the similar names in the same location in between so you can get easily confused…

The staff need to speak English better. I am NOT an ugly American (in fact I am half Japanese) but honestly, in an internationalized hotel English is essential.

Second time I stay at this property, and while it is a little "tired", I love it. It is a large complex comprised of three hotels (part of the same group) that share a beautiful park, with a lake and a shrine. Great service, conveniently located close to the Shinagawa station, but a little removed from the typical hustle & bustle of Tokyo. Wide rooms, clean, convenient, and great service.

The good and bad is the position: if you want to stay close to Shinbashi, Asakusa, or Shibuya, then this is not for you (though all these are easy to reach via metro). On the flipside, being a little away means you can enjoy quiet evenings and much wider rooms.

Decent location near the train station. However, note that the hotel is up a hill; if you are travelling with large luggage this may be an inconvenience. Overall the hotel was great, but there is a lot of construction going on in that area as of Feb 2025.

Booking should make an effort to indicate if the hotel is undergoing renovations and if construction will be occurring during your stay.

Quality and comfort were the top priorities. Everything was elegant and peaceful.

The hotel is under construction to renovate the dated building appearance. Breakfast was excellent but felt a little stuffy. The price seemed high for what service we received.

When we found the garden view room we booked didn’t quite garden view, they changed to much better room next day. We were very happy. We were most impressed with staff’s attention to service. It was traditional Japanese 5star service !

A very large room for Tokyo. Good shower pressure and bathroom suite.

They could have a dedicated English speaker at reception. As sometimes it was difficult to communicate with the staff (a me issue as well). Very gear towards the business traveler.

Staff members were all delightful- couldn’t be kinder or more helpful and that was everyone . 7/11 on site was so useful Aircon as it was 37° most days

Very dated decor A bit corporate Not in a particularly nice area - perfectly ok safe etc but a bit geared to the conference or fair block booking. Relentless daily changing of room towels - all utterly unnecessary and a bit rubbish for the planet. We protested but failed that mission. Despite booking because of the pool we only found out on arrival that you have to pay extra to use it. I don’t think that’s obvious on Booking.com At £30 a swim we didn’t use it at all despite the weather being in the high 30s. Disappointed about that. Oh and a parasol by the pool will cost you another £15. 😧

Noisy construction but they moved me. Not affiliated with Marriott like their sister hotel next door
