Unfortunately, our stay had a few disappointments. First, we weren’t able to see the Godzilla head the terrace has been permanently closed to both guests and the public after someone climbed it, which seems like an overreaction. It’s a shame they didn’t offer a more reasonable solution, like supervised visits, so that one incident didn’t ruin it for everyone. Another issue was the hotel’s location. It’s right next to the red-light district, which wasn’t clearly mentioned on Booking.com. The area is filled with sex workers, and we were constantly approached by people trying to lure us into nearby establishments. It became uncomfortable and frustrating, and really took away from the overall experience.

Location, location. It's great if you want to be in the middle of shinjuku. It's a loud, busy area, but near Golden Gai and everything. The Godzilla vibe was cute, and the 7-11 at the hotel doors was great. Coffee in the room was a nice treat.

It's pricey, loud area, and small room. One person will be up against the wall, which makes for a not so fun scoot out of the bed in the middle of the night (especially if you're older/mobility issues). You can no longer visit the Godzilla head on the terrace, which was one of the main reasons we booked here. There is no place to put any big bags, we found it hard even with just carry-ons x 2.

The breakfast was not great and the fact that we weren’t notified that the Godzilla Terrace was closed before we booked was extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t have booked if I knew that ahead of time. Moreover, the room wasn’t cleaned appropriately…there were clumps of hair near the bed and also in the bathroom. Not a good look for the hotel.

Great location if you are there for a short stay and want to be right in the action! Hotel was neat, tidy and clean. Block out blinds worked a treat. A great lobby with books, lounges and a small cafe/Bar. The staff were all very friendly and spoke great English. The laundry service was great providing 8 washing machines which meant we never had to wait to use one. The staff also assisted us with luggage service. Overall a great stay.

If you are travelling with children this location is probably not ideal. We spent 3 nights here and after the second night we got pretty annoyed with people trying to entice my husband into the hostess clubs. We also stayed over a long weekend so there were many drunk young people around and the streets were extremely dirty early the next mornings. If you like to watch tv to relax at night they only had local with no ability to stream or screen share. Great location if want to be in that environment but probably no good for kids.

The staff were super friendly and our room was always cleaned so nicely. They gave us fresh towels daily and I loved that the front desk gave me bath salts and a cosmetic package for 10 days.

I was disappointed that we couldn't go onto the terrace to see the godzilla head, however understanding that am earthquake had happened before our arrival, this was understandable. However, I was looking up reviews on the hotel and learned that the terrace was closed for quite some time. The other factor was that Japan is known to have hidden cameras in rooms (if you didn't know, now you do)on night 7 we saw a flash happen behind one of the lights in the ceiling... we couldn't be sure what it was so we covered the lens with a band aid...then covered the power button on our TV as well. We will return to Japan, but next time will bring a hidden camera finder.

Hotel location was ideal as close to train station and amenities. Rooms were a little on the small side but to be expected in this country, although a bit more storage for luggage would have been beneficial. Fresh towels delivered daily which was excellent, and despite being in a busy area, there wasn’t much noise at night so sleep wasn’t disturbed. There was also a safe in the room so you didn’t have to worry about any valuables, and a small fridge also. The hotel provided slippers, toothbrushes and shower gels etc. There were clothes washing facilities available if required.

Storage for clothes was minimal so had to live out of our suitcase. Not a problem if yours is a short stay but when staying for two weeks it would be nice to be able to unpack.

The property and building is extremely clean and the stuff were incredibly lovely and accommodating. Most staff which was definitely helpful but we had a good laugh when we got lost in translation. The amenities are replenished daily and was most grateful for the refill of water bottles thank you. Room was a spacious as it could be for Tokyo hotel living (aka small) but we made it work and there was ample room for the suitcases and to move around. I do wish the beds sizes would be considering we had to share with our kids but we made it work ! The location is fantastic in the heart of Shinjuku and has convenience stores surrounding the facilities and restaurants and cinemas and everything else not forgetting the skyline view of Tokyo from our room on the 29th floor and Godzilla attached to the building 😎 very cool!

The laundry facilities need to be cleaned a little more regularly as it just took a long time to dry items because there were so much moisture in the dryers, took several cycles for my clothes to dry. But it was most convenient to still have the coin laundry there.

Room is clean and comfortable, we had an amazing view. Our room was very quiet. AC was excellent. The room has everything you need, and is comfortable but not spacious or luxerious, it is simple. Housekeeping does a great job. Staff if curtious. We did not eat the breakfast at the restaurant, there is a 7-11 in the building that is convenient and well stocked, that is where you want to eat anyway, right? Check in and out was easy. The Godzilla features were definitly fun. Everyone knows by now that the patio with the giant Godzilla head is closed, so it was no big deal. Taxis are witing outside the hotel door if you need one. The location is central in Shinjuku if you want to be part of the action.

The bed was quite firm, it was not a problem for me or my daughter, but just so guests should know. Outside the hotel is intensely Shinjuku with all the touts etc, which I just felt bad for, if you have any issue with that. Wish it was closer to the train station, would not have been a big deal except in was 95F-96F every day. There were several earthquakes while we were there, we were not sure what to do, maybe at check in they could instruct what to do? We assumed the building was safe, which it was.

Hotel was comfortable.

The area around hotel was very dirty with parties leaving trash on the streets. The area smelled of sour alcohol. Some homeless and drunkards hanging out along with “escorts” holding signs with what they charge. Not a good area for families. The hotel was fine but just not a good area.

This hotel is so perfectly located- it’s a few minutes walk from the train station, is literally surrounded by hundreds of restaurants and things to do. I was also very surprised at how beautiful this place is as I was expecting more of a mid range hotel feel but it a beautiful, has a great breakfast and puts a lot of 5 star hotels to shame.

Ok so I know Japanese hotel rooms are small and we were prepared for this but the bed situation was an issue. Recommending a twin room for 2 adults and 2 children doesn’t work as the beds are actually singles. It’s a good job we are skinny and the kids are only little otherwise we would have had to sleep on the floor. I love this hotel and I would definitely go back in just think you shouldn’t recommend a twin room to fit 4 people in 2 single beds
