Location, stone throws away from the heart of Shibuya and less than 10 minute walk to Harajuku! Views of Tokyo were incredible. I was nervous about mixed reviews, but any "inconvenience' is outweighed by location, facilities at miyashita and staff at front desk, especially Connor who was super helpful. Yes the trains are loud, and sometimes ambulances at odd hours of the night however it adds to the experience of being in an urban city (we are a family with young child, she slept through it all). Yes the self check in tablets are not counter intuitive, however the staff and management have clearly reviewed practices and are there to assist/guide you through it. I'd like to call out Connor who was exceptionally helpful at both check in/check out and informative about our Yamato bag delivery, which made for a great customer experience. Yes there are many ways to access the hotel via miyashita, we loved this aspect. Yes the rooms are dark and moody, makes for an urban/eclectic vibe.. downside is that any spec of dust is visible against the dark carpet. Yes the rooms are turned every 2 days, however, it's clearly advertised on booking sites, so no surprises. We asked a cleaner to pick up excess trash on the odd days and that was all we needed. We booked the large twin room, which was perfect for a family of 3. Even 4. Given space is a premium in Tokyo and many similar urban cities, this far exceeded our expectations.
Would be nice to have a few more lights or lamps in the room as it is quite dark.

Sequence feels cool and modern and a bit like the Ace or Standard Hotels. I enjoyed an excellent 12-night stay by myself in a twin-room. Staff were very helpful with all my needs, from check-in to holding items at the front desk. Room was large by Tokyo standards with expansive views and good blackout curtains (I'm glad I booked the twin, as basic single rooms are indeed very tiny from what I saw first-hand during cleaning). Beds are firm, as typical with Japan, but comfortable. Good amount of storage in cubbies and small closet. I thought the hotel would be noisier, as it caters to a younger crowd (think late 20s-early 40s), but my room was dead silent all 12 nights. The hotel was less crowded than usual, being winter, but I was still surprised at how quiet the place was. Bathroom was great. No tub, but shower has a nice sliding door to keep water contained and the rain shower head was terrific with excellent heat and water pressure. There's also an adjustable hand-held shower head too. Toilet, as expected, is a very nice bidet Toto. Cafe on the lobby floor is very cool and a nice place to work or take a meeting in the morning, though it does get busy by late morning and it's packed all afternoon. Also, if you purchase a reusable coffee cup (I think for about 500-600 yen, as it's 50% off for hotel guests), drip coffee is free for the rest of your stay with unlimited refills! Restaurant on the 5th floor was also quite good. Classy and tasty spot while still casual. No tea or coffee provided in the room, but a nice electric kettle was available upon request and I made good use of it during my stay. Mini fridge was useful too. No mini bar items - just use for cold storage. Location is very good. Under 10 minutes to Shibuya station on foot. Two FamilyMart locations very close as well for all your 24-hr konbini needs. So much good food close by. Overall, tons of good things to say about Sequence.
I really wish the room had a small desk. There's nowhere to work or eat except by sitting on the bed or the low cabinet by the window. There's a tiny side table you can use, but it's very small and not very practical. Also, I ended up using this side table as my nightstand. In retrospect, I could probably have asked the staff for a second small side table. Others have complained about the train sound, but honestly, after a night or two it didn't bother me at all. Also, the trains don't run all night in Tokyo. With a little white noise or earplugs, I couldn't hear it. I slept well here.

Get the park view, totally worth it. Very modern hotel with hipster vibe. I was surprised by the late check-in of 5pm, but I guess the 2pm checkout compensates for this. Hotel is designed for young people to party in Shibuya. The cafe in the lobby is nice.
My room smelled of smoke. The housekeeping did not come every day. The bath towels were old and small. The blue carpet seems old. The staff are typically Japanese and are not flexible at all. The check-in strictly 5pm, and the rooftop bar, also strictly 5pm open. The pool at the rooftop bar is not part of the hotel, and had some scandalous parties going on.

It took me all of 3 days to realize how perfect this hotels location is. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the Meiji Jingu and a 15-20 minute walk to Harajuku. It is a 20 minute walk to the famous Shibuya Scramble. The rooms are small but perfect for a solo traveler. My room did not have a separate bathroom. The toilet and shower is separated from the room only by a glass enclosure. Again perfect for a solo traveler. The breakfast was good.
There is really no presence of the hotel at ground level with the hotel reception located on the 4th floor. It took me all of 3 days to figure out where to access the hotel at the ground level.

The location is outstanding. It's great if you wanna spend a few days in the Shibuya area shopping in neighbourhoods like Harajuku, Nakameguro and so on. Depending on your fitness level, everything is within walking distance. Plus, Shibuya Station with the Yamanote Line is very close too. The rooms are for Tokyo standard decent size and the view (if you are on an upper floor is amazing, no matter the direction your room faces).
It's a bit annoying that there isn't an elevator from ground level to your room floor. You have to traverse the lobby which is on 4F EVERYSINGLETIME. It's ofcourse fun when you arrive from Myshita Park, however when you enter the building from ground floor it just takes extra time.

Loved the location of the property. The rooms were well appointed and beautifully thought out with little helpful and beautiful details. We enjoyed the views from the rooms and the atmosphere. Our larger (members of our family stayed in 3 different rooms over the time we were in the hotel) was very spacious. We loved having the coach and room to have our teenage kids come hang out.
The latest room was very hot in the mornings, even with the double glazing and the sun pouring around the ends of each curtain. We were waking up with the sun, about 4am, which was a bit early. After the first morning we were propping up shoes and bags against the edges of the curtains to try and stop to light coming in.

I liked the convenient location to Shibuya crossing, the staff was friendly and helpful, too. I loved the convenience of being able to borrow everything needed - ie. An umbrella as it was pouring.
The rooms are extremely tiny and loud. There’s no way of blocking out the noise, the rail track is right by the hotel and it’s a constant buzz of noise. Additionally, being right between two very busy roads, it’s noisy from the roads, too. I was staying on the 14th floor and I can’t imagine how much louder it has to be on the lower floors. The property is well-frequented by locals and always buzzing with people, being in a shopping mall and a park. What I’d like to highlight, too, is that there’s all of 2 laundry machines for the entire hotel, and 1 load of wash and dry takes 2 hours. If you want your laundry done, you better be ready in the middle of the night, too.

We had a great stay at this hotel during our trip to Japan! The entire place was extremely clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional, and check-in was smooth and easy. The best part was the location it was within walking distance of Shibuya, which made exploring the area super convenient. We were able to enjoy the busy nightlife, great restaurants, and shopping without needing transportation. Overall, it was a quiet, relaxing stay in a prime spot. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Love, love, love this hotel. It's stylish, minimalist and cool and in an amazing location at the edge of Shibuya and Harajuku, in the middle of the the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo, and yet was very calm and peaceful and the room was surprisingly quiet given you are literally on top of the Yamonote line between Shibuya and Harajuku. Miyashita (pronounced Mee-yashta not Me-a-shita as some amusingly assume) Park complex is new(ish) and has lots to offer on its own - great hawker market-style food at street level, restaurants and shops on upper levels and topped off by the rooftop park. The hotel cafe opens out onto the rooftop and makes an amazing coffee and sandwiches/pastries if you are looking for a snack to get your day going. It also doubles as a cool bar at night. Room was minimalist and well appointed with a HUGE window at one end of the room looking out towards the Shinjuku skyline. Bed was super comfortable and the cloud like duvet was very cosy. The Japanese fascination with one soft pillow and one hard-as-a-rock pillow doesnt make sense to me but the Sequence is not alone in this.
Room should be cleaned daily at this price but didnt happen for some reason. A few hooks for hand towels wouldve been useful given the bathroom sink is in the bedroom. Otherwise no issues.

Amazing location! Right in the heart of Shibuya. There is a park accessible as part of the hotel - fantastic place to let toddlers run around to burn some energy. The room was small, but the wide open window made it feel larger. Had a beautiful view of Shibuya and Miyashita park. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place purely for its location and views.
Very hard to access the hotel, as its entrance is located on the corner of a busy street. Our taxi driver dropped us off at the corner and we had to carry our luggage over barriers - which was a struggle as we had a toddler with us. So just be mindful of this if you are travelling heavy. Theres alternative ways to get to the entrance, which works well if you are travelling light.
