The facility is situated at a quiet residential neighborhood in Asakusa. It is close to Asakusa station while Honjo-Azumbashi station would be the closest. I spend two nights at this place and the staffs I came across are very friendly. Facility is very clean and modern. The best thing about this place is the big comfy lounge area with various selection of manga books.

I usually don’t mind sleeping on the top level of the bunk bed, but the thin steel ladder steps are painful to climb—especially after a long day of walking. The facilitator has added some foam padding to the steps, but most of it is worn out and no longer provides cushioning. Perhaps management could consider using more durable, grippy materials for the steps, such as rubber or silicone. Additionally, the facility should consider implementing a paging system at the reception desk. In my case, I went downstairs to request a towel, but a guest in the lounge mentioned that the receptionist had just stepped away. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes. While I was waiting, a new guest was trying to check in, and a third guest wanted to ask the reception some questions.

I think this hotel is really amazing! I had been living here for a week. Most employees could speak Chinese and English, and that’s a pretty nice thing for a foreigner visitor like me. The hotels is 24 hr open, so no need to worry about the check-in time.

Since the hotel is a shared room, there will have some general questions. For example, the day-to-day routine might not match so well.( like me, I’m that kind of person who will go to a hot springs in 2 a.m. and go back with an instant noodles at 3 a.m.)(sorry that I’m a bad roommate)

Thanks for letting me check-in early! You know how thankful I am after long flight for a day because I had to transit in Hong Kong. Everything was unexpectedly pleasant! Even though it’s dorm, they have anything you need such as bathroom (one with bath up), toilet, powder room including hair dryer and hair iron. The room was completely quiet which is I really thankful! Usually when you stay in a dorm, you should be ready with the noise. The bed, linen, blanket everything was perfect! The locker fit my 21 inches luggage and bag. They have small kitchen for you to use. The laundry available for 2 machines (200 Yen for washing, 100 Yen for 30 minutes drying). Definitely would come back if I have a chance to visit Asakusa again!

Nothing. I just didn’t get a chance to see the rooftop due to my busy itinerary. If you have chance, give it a visit!

This has to be one of the best hostels I ever stayed at! What I enjoyed the most was how quiet and private the bedrooms feel. I don't know if they have some sort of soundproofing on the walls but the noise of other guests snoring was very faint. I also enjoyed the big curtains in front of every bed, it gives a lot of privacy and shields the light. The toilets were super clean (I felt comfortable sitting on the toilet!). The staff cleans the facility on a very regular basis. To note it does not feel like a social hostel to make friends with other travellers but there is a common room/café at the entrance where you can sit and relax.

The sliding doors to the rooms can be a but loud, they put a sign saying to be minful when opening and closing the door but sometimes guests were a bit loud when opening and closing it at night. The shower room is located on the ground floor but the showers are big and very clean so it's not too much of an issue!

I think this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. First of all, I want to thank the staff, especially Sami, who was incredibly kind and helped me whenever I needed advice! The atmosphere feels just like home, and you realize it within a few hours—there’s always someone around, and there’s always a chance to make great friendships, like I did with Erkin, Jimmy, and Macy! I’ll miss them all and hope to see them again one day! All of this was thanks to Tora Hotel! I can’t wait to come back!

I think the only "flaw," if we can call it that, is the location of the showers, which are on the first floor, making them a bit "inconvenient," but nothing more!

This property was very well designed with minimalist aesthetics. It had a nice small comfortable lounge area in the lobby. The location is situated in a quiet neighborhood. The hotel staff is some of the best I’ve come across. All of them were really nice and polite and just wonderful! The facility is extremely clean and spotless. One of the cleanest hostels I’ve ever stayed at and you’re able to cook here as well and everyone is just especially nice here including the travelers as well. Very well organized operation. The room temperature were also easily adjusted if it’s too hot and stuffy for someone who prefers cooler temperatures. And I love that there’s no second hand smoke anywhere!

The shower floors were only on the first. But this was not an issue since everything else made up for it.

The staff were very nice and spoke English. The location was very accessible, just a few minutes' walk away from the Asakusa (Ginza Line) subway station (very easy to get mostly anywhere else in Tokyo) and not too far from several convenience stores. Coin-operated washer and dryer were easy enough to figure out, showers/bathrooms were always kept clean, and most if not all other travelers were quiet/respectful. Checkout was very easy, just dropped off my key at the front desk.

I do wish there was a bit more space to stow luggage, something like an overflow area. The locker provided was big enough to hold a large-sized luggage bag, which should be enough for most, but I had a second bag for souvenirs for friends and family back home.

The location is conveniently a short walk from Asakusa and Honjo-Azumbashi which make it easy to explore the city. The neighborhood is very local, vibrant and SAFE with nearby convenient store, small restaurants and cafe. the Manager JONA and staff Ms. GHIMIRE made my stay memorable; they were incredibly helpful and established a genuine rapport with all the guests and let the guests felt they're most welcome. I highly recommend TORA Hotel Asakusa for anyone looking for a friendly atmosphere and great accessibility.

The anytime accessibility of Kitchen to guest in the morning. There should be a specified time for the guests on accessing the cooking facility - pertaining to induction stove since some guests take time on preparing their breakfast and limits the access to those other guests who wanted to prepare a coffee, re-heat food by microwave, have a quick toast of bread. Some guests are preparing their complete breakfast meal and occupying the working kitchen for a very very long time which limits to other guest to access the kitchen facility (Consideration of courtesy to other guest).

Good location. - They have women-only showers on the women’s floor, which are very clean. (There are also mixed showers on the first floor.) - The staff is great. You can grab drinks on the first floor at reasonable prices - for example, a latte costs just 300 yen and tastes great. - The women’s floor requires a passcode for entry, which adds a nice level of security. - Large lockers (with keys provided) are available, spacious enough to store 50L backpacks. - Showers are stocked with shampoo and body wash, so there’s no need to bring or pay extra for those. - Free towels are included, and you only pay if you need additional ones. - The common area is well-organized and convenient for working on a laptop. - Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. There’s only an additional charge if you leave your luggage for more than a day after checking out.

The beds are designed with some open space around them, which makes it easy to accidentally drop things. - There is no separation between the luggage storage area (lockers) and the beds, so when people are talking or packing, it’s hard not to hear them clearly from the beds. - Climbing up to or getting down from the top bunks is a bit hard. - The hostel is generally clean, but I noticed a few small stains on my pillow, and there was a piece of wood above the bed that was covered in dust. - Beds located near the windows can be a bit chilly, though not uncomfortably so for sleeping.

This was my first time staying at a hostel so I was a bit nervous, but it exceeded my expectations! The facilities were great and everything was very clean, there was a funky smell in one of the bathrooms for the girls dorms but other than that it was clean. Staff was super friendly and always greeted you and location is very close to sky tree. Had no problems with the other dorm mates everyone was very respectful. Didn't try anything from the cafe but they have beverages available and a little kitchen for you to use and store your things.

The mattresses are very thin and uncomfortable , but i still slept through the night. You're only there to sleep. There was a funky smell in one of the bathrooms. The area for the lockers is a bit small so if more than one person is opening their luggage it can be a bit uncomfortable.
