Everything. I am from India and travelled solo. I was thoroughly taken care of ! I opted for half board so I was served dinner and breakfast in an individual private room within the restaurant. The food was so delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The onsen is very easy to book at no extra cost. I went to the private onsen and 45 mins is enough imo because the hot water will make dizzy beyond 30 mins anyway. They also had gelato, snacks and sake for sale which you can simply pick up by filling out a form and pay for during check out. They even helped me put on a beautiful yukata in which I had dinner and could go to the town wearing. They also provided pyjamas in the room which I wore to breakfast. It’s the best experience and I recommend this hotel to every foreigner who wants to experience onsen for the first time in a beautiful countryside town of Japan.

Even though the hotel is far from the station, the staff offers a shuttle bus to and fro the town so it’s not a problem at all.

It was incredible from start to finish. I was collected by the hotel shuttle bus from the railway station and driven to the hotel a short distance away. The hotel was beautifully presented and I was welcomed by the staff and guided through check-in and to my room where everything was explained. My room was large, with a great view of the river and full of amenities like complimentary drinks in the fridge and excellent tea and coffee. The hotel has public and private onsens included in the price. They were all amazing. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptional - I had the crab set - and it was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I think I had the best night’s sleep in a long time and Japanese breakfast the following morning was excellent too. During my stay, all of the staff were warm and friendly and helpful. One of the things that really stood out was just how peaceful and quiet it was. It was the most relaxing experience I’ve ever had in a hotel. I would recommend to anyone!

Nothing - everything was wonderful.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful! My room had an amazing view of the river and it was so peaceful. The private onsens were very nice, I can not comment about the public onsens because tattoos are still banned at this particular hotel. Dinner and breakfast were wonderful, and I can't even explain how friendly and accommodating the staff was! Wonderful and relaxing 2 days.

It is far from town, so planning trips with the shuttle was a little stressful. There really are no other options if you do not have a car with you.

Stunning place if you want to just wind down and relax. With traditional tatami flooring and panoramic views of the Maruyama River, Ginka was super quiet and just the place to sit down with a cup of coffee or matcha and be still. They have a private onsen too which was great for us!

It was a bit difficult to get in touch with the hotel over phone since most of the staff answering was Japanese and would surprisingly just hang up if you tried to communicate. We finally had to ask a local to get in touch and explain we needed a pickup from the town to get back earlier than we had booked for. Minor glitch.

Room was cozy and the view of the river is great! The on-site onsens are great, an indoor onsen and an outdoor one which has a great view of the river, so it was super relaxing and calming. The onsens are very clean, and when we visited, there was nobody else inside so it felt private. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The included dinner was amazing and super filling; I think we had 2-3 big snow crabs each (if you feel mediocre about crab, you might not want to have dinner during crab season haha)! Breakfast was great as well.

Location was a bit far if you don't have a car. There are shuttles, but they are around once every hour, and there aren't any later at night, so can't visit the onsens in town after dinner since dinner is a multi hour affair. Still, this ryokan is great if you plan to have a relaxing trip!

Staff were exceptional, the hotel was beautiful. The view from our hotel window was literal heaven, so relaxing to sit and watch. Really enjoyed having the bath in the room and all the luxurious toiletries but also tried out the private (circular) bath which was also great, especially the free ice cream after. We booked breakfast and dinner which were both beautifully crafted. A bit daunting for western tastes but we enjoyed trying new things! Also the shuttle to pick you up and drop you off makes getting there a breeze!

Amazing views, lovely room and onsen. Good breakfast. I enjoyed every minute spent there.

Dinner was overpriced and not worth the money in my opinion. The shuttle service is hourly and you need to announce in advance you want to use it. This made our plans much less flexible, so we opted to use the taxi to the hotel - until there was no taxi to be found in the evening. To be fair, the hotel did then provide the shuttle with a short notice (10 min or so). Blackout blinds would also have been appreciated.

Beautiful location and fantastic service. Shuttle van picked us up from the train station when we arrived and hotel offered regular shuttle service to and from the town center during the day, which was about 10 min away by car. Room was spacious and clean. On-site public and private onsens were clean and relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were included and my goodness, you never left a meal hungry! Incredibly relaxing getaway!

Not located in the town center, so we had to rely on the hotels shuttle service. Amount of food served at meals was almost too much.

Internal hotsprings, very very comfortable amazing Japanese twin room with magical river view and amazing wooden bath. Good to gave a shuttle to and from Kinosaki railway station. Staff sweet and kind

Diner and breakfast had much too much crab-based food for us that we could not easily digest. We actually could not eat anything for breakfast after the heavy diner. Meals are expensive, so we decided to cancel diner and breakfast for our second night. Because tge young staff does not speak good basic English and may be due to poor training, they did not explain in detail the content/substance of the different food courses (as the English menu was not enough). So we were left guessing without always resolving it

The staff at Ginka were very welcoming. They explained all aspects of the onsen. The room was tradional Japanese with a beautiful view of the river. The onsen was clean and well provisioned. The view from the outside onsen was gorgeous. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional. The first were in the private rooms. The second were looking over the river. The town of Kinosaki is beautiful and a joy to walk around. A divine place to get away from the bustly Japanese cities and experience a relaxed break.

If I could make any criticism it would be that there was too much food, especially the dinner. But it was all so delicious that you are happy to keep eating.
