The villas at Vila Maidú are a true luxury — spacious, high-quality, with big public and also private pools — and offered at a very reasonable price for the level of comfort provided. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Great breakfast and services, they treated us wonderfully and even offered us a very generous late check-out. They were kind with the children, who had an amazing time throughout our stay. For families this is an ideal choice: the villas are large and well-designed, allowing for a truly relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The hotel is also perfectly located in Luang Prabang, within walking distance of the town center, or just a short tuk-tuk ride if you’re traveling with small children. Everything is spotless and beautifully maintained.

Everything was perfect!

Charming old villa hotel, tucked away next to a temple. Very helpful reception staff. They managed to get us train tickets to Vientiane when Lao Trains was showing fully booked and none of the online booking platforms (12goAsia, Booking away, Baolau etc) were able to. The open-air breakfast setting was lovely. The pool was great to return to after a hot day exploring Luang Prabang. We also really enjoyed being able to use the hotel bikes to explore further afield.

The Heritage rooms were quaint in the original 1920s villa building. But the stairs up to the rooms and the very creaky, uneven floors mean they're not good for those with mobility issues.

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at! Such a beautiful, lush, peaceful setting - but also an easy walk into the main part of town. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the variety of choices at breakfast each morning. The pool was spotlessly clean and really refreshing! The thing that really sets Villa Maydou apart though is the staff, who were so friendly, kind and attentive! Highly recommend staying here!

The hotel is excellent with beautiful rooms which are spacious and well furnished. The pool was very clean and fresh, as it is partially in the shade. The breakfast is also excellent with a wide range of choice, delicious eggs and artisan bakeries.

The wifi throughout the hotel is weak making it difficult to connect for even emails. This should be improved. Also, it was sad to see the 1925 building opposite the bar no longer in use. This should be repurposed as additional rooms or a gym/spa. If it was to be made a gym and a spa that would make the hotel one of the best in Luang Prabang. It would also help if the evening receptionist/bar staff is trained to make cocktails or pour wine. We came to the bar around 10pm and were told only Beerlao was available.

This was a great price option in an excellent part of town that was close to many things that I enjoyed. Although I didn’t have time to use the pool restaurant, bathtub, I’m glad it was available. The pool bar looked cosy and it has a unique shaded private patio for each unit. The bed was incredibly comfortable, western toilet, and the reception was more than welcoming. There was no phone in the room, but I was able to awaken the front desk at 5 AM and they helped me get to the airport.

This was a 10 out 10. Incredible beautiful place, so unique and so well preserved. The staff was unbelievably friendly, so helpful, gave us so many good tips and helped organise transportation to go to few places. They have some bikes that we could use for free it was live changer, it took us just 3 minutes to go to town centre. Breakfast was great and diversified every day. The bar/restaurant was also great, we happen to have few meals there and the food was also super tasty and well prepared. Last but not least, the outstanding staff upgraded free of charge our room without us asking to do so, we cannot be more thankful for this gesture.

Absolutely nothing. Everything was perfect

I got upgraded and the room was faboulous! The bed was comfortable, the room super clean, and the garden and pool create a totally relaxing atmosphere. Also breakfast was delicious! The staff was helpful and friendly.

I asked at the begging if it was possible to pay with credit card. They say yes. When I was checking out, the machine or internet didn't work. I did't have enough cash and we had to go to the ATM. It was a hassle.Better to try to pay at the beggining of your stay to make sure!

We‘ve been in Villa Maydou for the third time within the last 12 years! This time for 7 nights - and it was a real pleasure to stay in Villa Maydou! It is such an nice place where you can really relax and get prepared for a nice city walk. I can highly recommend it - and I‘m sure to come back soon!!

The room was very charming, the pool was lovely, and we really appreciated the free bicycles. Being next to a small monastery was sweet. Our room faced the greenery in front of the river, which was nice. Their orange juice was amazing. The sound of flooring mentioned in other reviews wasn't a problem for us.

No fault of the hotel, but a neighbourhood restaurant seemed to have karaoke until late on the weekend, though I suspect due to hotel layout only our room was impacted. Breakfast could have had a bit more variety.

Excellent breakfast, pool was very clean and welcome given the heat. Beautiful garden, room in traditional style tastefully decorated 15 mins walk into the town and right next to interesting Buddhist temple

Furniture in the room wasnt practical for suitcases etc. Show was at a weird height. We'd booked a room with a terrace but didnt get it.
