Location is great. Not only the fact that is in the city center, but house is in a quiet, lovely street only for walk (and scooters), there are flowers, palm trees and view to the mountains. Stuff was very nice, helpfull and kind, ready to assist with different request almost at any time. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfest is testy (not very diverse thought) with fresh fruits every morning.

Toilet seat was disgusting but this is minor problem. The Real problem is that dinning table for breakfest (actually the only table in a house) are outside. So in the morning while we were eating, other guest were smoking cigar (always and always!). The other thing is some weird electric instalation. For example: to turn on AC, you need to turn on litght, so AC is not working during the night, nor toilet lights without main room lights

Loved the location, tucked down a little alleyway, close to town but quiet. Breakfast each morning was good. Excellent value. Family room upstairs was great with a shared balcony with a view of the Mekong and big chairs to watch the sunset.

When we first arrived there seemed to be confusion about our booking. We were given a room around the back on the ground floor. It was not very clean and smelled musty. The next day they moved us upstairs to a much better room. As others have mentioned they charge more than other places in town for train bookings.

Great breakfast with many options to choose from. The location is approximatelly 10-15 minutes from city center but in bit calmer area. Though there was still some noise from surrounding but nothing that would be too disturbing. The lady at the reception was nice and help us to arrange several things though sometimes it took a while to do or communicate (e.g. we had a laundry which we got a bit of last moment before leave and in the end it turned out we did not have to hurry since the taxi was called later to take more guests to airport). Though that might be just part of country culture, Laos is slow pace country :).

The ladies running the Vilay are kind, helpful and keep that place clean and quiet. The house with the wood interior is very pleasant. Bed was comfy, room service every day, complimentary water and a nice sitting area for breakfast, they offer laundry service and organized a Tuktuk for our departure

Be aware, if you pay by credit card they charge you 3% and convert USD to Kip at an unfavorable rate,

I really loved this place. It was super cozy, the staff was very friendly, and the location was great. Close to center and the rivers. Every morning you could choose your breakfast, and it was all freshly made and delicious. They offered help with tours, and also with buying train tickets and the van to take you to the train station. It was easy to communicate in English, and the wifi was very good. I had a few Zoom calls, and didn't have any problems. Would definitely stay again if I visit Luang Prabang in the future.

I stayed a while ago, but I don't remember anything that I didn't like. The balcony is accesible for everyone, so just something to have in mind if you book a room with balcony or window to the balcony. Maybe better to double check if it would be a problem.

The property was very comfortable and staff very friendly. Nice breakfast. Laundry available. A good walkable location to all city sites.

The bathroom was a bit dated. As with most Luang Prabang hotels we were charged in USD but paid in KIP at the hotels unfavourable rate. This makes absolutely no sense to me but should be noted as final payment ends up being when paying in KIP is slightly more than advertised in USD. Current hotel rate 1 USD - 23000 KIP as of 19.12.24

We called Villay Vanh home for 7 nights and it felt like it! Our host was warm, friendly and amazing. She helped us navigate our daily choices for exploring the area. The menu for breakfast was varied and tasty and generous-fresh fruit always included! The place has a lovely meeting space/reception area for eating and gathering with other guests and an upper balcony as well. Best location for walking to favorite temples, the river, boats etc. yet very quiet. One of our favorite spots in beautiful Laos. Kop jai lai lai.

very good breakfast, lovely host but the woman was not the owner, the owners were never seen. Good position, you can walk along the river or take a tuc tuc to the center. Good room.

before our trip we wright to the hotel about a lot of information but no one ever responded, I ask booking assistance but no one ever answered to the phone. It's not good about a hotel, it's a very problem. Attention, breakfast is not along the river, some photo on booking are not realy.

Dina is wonderful, she helped us with everything. We felt in good hands with her, hey family and the rest of the staff. Delicious breakfast (included) welcome lemonade, cleanliness of the room and vibes of the people around. Very nice and quiet. Some people are happy helping people, others just pretend they are happy. Here we feel they do it by heart. We booked with her other activities, and all great. For example the 25 hours bus to Hanoi. BTW...such an unforgettable adventure!

The staff were lovely here and very helpful. Our water stopped working so the lady quickly helped us change our room and provided our laundry for free in return. The location was good and in the centre- easy to get around.

The beds were quite hard. Breakfast was okay in the morning, took a VERY long time for small things but overall was decent for the cheap price per night.
