The hotel was is the perfect location for getting around Malta- particularly Sliema and Valletta. Other nearby areas were only a quick taxi, or a slightly longer bus journey. The room was great and had lots of space with good finishings- the turn down service in the evening was a lovely added touch too. The hotel was gorgeous and facilities were brilliant. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, the rooftop pool and the TemptAsian restaurant. There were different theme nights and offers throughout the week which can be enjoyed too.

If I was being picky, the bath robes need replaced. They had some marks on them and the loops to hang of put the tie through were ripped. The pillows were also not to my liking, they were too soft. That being said, the staff were very accommodating to this and provided me with firmer pillows.

Fantastic hotel, in a quiet area of Sliema yet only a couple of minutes walk to the seafront, harbour and main area of Sliema. Our room was clean and comfortable with a partial seaview and a balcony. The infinity pool area located on the 9th floor was a great place to relax, the views looked out to sea, across to St Julians and beyond and in the other direction Valetta which looked beautiful especially at night. There was a great pool bar up there too serving food and drink all day - Happy Hour between 3pm and 5pm served cocktails 2 for 12 Euros. Breakfast buffet to start the day was so good with plenty of choice for everyone, there's no reason to leave hungry. We ate in three of the onsite restaurants, the food and service was great in all of them, especially in Temptasian on the 9th floor (best to make a reservation) the food here was amazing. There is a tour desk in the main lobby, thanks to Sandra for sorting our excursions. On a last note one of the best thing about this hotel is the staff, from the Management and down, the customer service was second to none. Too many to name but thanks to Dominica, Kristjan and Chang at the pool bar and Puja and Julia at the Temptasian restaurant. We would like to say thanks to you all for such a wonderful stay and we look forward to coming back.

Nothing to fault.

The space in the room, the breakfast on the lovely terrace, the view from the pool, the little extra fruits/ chocolate everyday. Close to the boat to go to Valetta, a supermarket and lots of restaurants.

Nothing was explained by the staff when I arrived (breakfast, pool, restaurants…) but my husband and parents in law had arrived already so maybe that’s why. I had asked for a view with deluxe room but didn’t have any view from our balcony as were on 3rd floor. They offered to move us after 2 days but we had unpacked everything…Also very busy at the pool and the sunbeds are all very close to each other

The service was more than exceptional. I've never experienced such friendly and helpful staff at any other 5 star hotel. For example: The service desk remembered my name and room number (even when I'd forgotten my room. One night I wanted to change the booking at the Temptasions restaurant and the lady on the front desk couldn't get through on the phone. I went there myself, too - and found the lady had gone all the way up to the restaurant to try and sort it. I was having a limoncello at the end of the evening with my wife was offered another on the house. More than anything, ALL the staff were continuously happy and friendly and smiled and said hello at every occasion. The rooms were cleaned brilliantly by really friendly, happy staff. Bravo!

The pool was a little crowded and it could be hard to find a sun lounger in the shade. Some guests would reserve sun loungers at the beginning of the morning and then not appear for hours.

The hotel met our expectations based on the previous reviews. The location is very good, only a few minutes walk away from the ferry to Valletta. We spent 4 nights there from Thursday to Monday. The neighbourhood is very quiet and the hotel is fairly new so the windows are also well insulated. This gives you piece and quiet in the room (provided you don't have noisy guests next door, but this was not the case). We booked a standard room overlooking the inner yard without a balcony, but got an upgrade to a deluxe room with a balcony. The double bed was huge (probably about 220 cm) and very comfortable. Everyone from the staff we met was very polite and friendly, and not in an artificial way. The breakfast was very good, the cappucino was excellent and the prices in the Talk of Town cafe where we had drinks and some food in the evenings was very reasonable. The wellness area has a small pool (big enough for kids) and a few different types of saunas. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay.

The heating function of the AC only worked in the evenings. It would have been nice if it had worked in the morning too, but it was not too much of an inconvenience for us.

We stayed at AX The Palace with our 6-month old baby for a week and we had the loveliest time. The hotel is located centrally in Sliema, 5 minutes walk to the sea front, including the Valetta Ferry, tour boats and bus stops. The hotel was exceptionally clean and well-looked after. Staff are incredibly friendly - every single staff member we met went out of their way to help us, but a special mention goes to Sailendra & Leonie at breakfast and Dominika upstairs at the pool bar - you really made our holiday, thank you! Breakfast was fantastic - options for everybody, fresh and tasty, and coffee was good too. All of the facilities were excellent and well-maintained. The pools are all great, we only used the rooftop pool, which is fabulous on a hot day. The view of Valetta from the roof is fantastic too. Guests were all respectful, with well-behaved children. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. I would book again in a heartbeat.

Nothing at all - it was all perfect!

Staff are absolutely fantastic. Our kids ended up ill with chest infections on the second day and I asked could they recommend a doctor. Reception had us an appointment within 5 mins and 10 mins later they were being examined by a doctor located just around the corner. In less than an hour from the request we were back in the hotel with antibiotics for both kids who were much better within a day. Food selection at the buffet is amazing and the staff are so attentive and helpful they were especially good with our young kids. Special shout out to Leonie and Marvin for making mealtime so pleasant and your interactions and kindness with the kids

Not much, would be nice to have decent coffee facilities in the room instead of Nescafe instant but its a minor thing.

Excellent rooms, friendly staff, very generous and delicious breakfast, with pancakes and omelets prepared to your liking by the chef working at the breakfast table. The indoor and rooftop pools and the gym are shared with AX Victoria, as the two buildings are connected. Both swimming pools are great, there is a superb bar next to the rooftop pool, and there is also a sauna next to the indoor pool. The area is very nice, just a few minutes' walk from the waterfront. Bus stops and numerous small and large shops, including some that are open 24 hours a day, are also just a few minutes away.

Even though the room was a "family room", it had stone flooring, so was not possible to let the baby crawl around, as she would have caught a cold. Both the room's main entry door and the door to the bathroom was defect, and closing was not possible without a big bang / considerable noise. The room was supposed to be sound insulated, but a party on Saturday night kept up the family until late at night.

The hotel was in a good location, just a few minutes walk from the coast and a nice breakfast place called WOM (Word Of Mouth) - would recommend. The hotel itself is nice, with lots of cafes and bars etc. which are nice, if expensive. The room itself had the biggest bed i have ever seen! :-) There was a good bathroom and complementary water and bottle of wine. The staff were helpful and the check out time was good. Its approx 15 mins to walk to the person ferry to Valletta or there are many Bolts around (download the app before your trip - its very similar to Uber).

Cost of the bars and the breakfast were a bit steep.
