The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. the location was handy to downtown Valletta sights.

The only disappointing aspect of the stay was the breakfast. Although the range of items on offer was satisfactory, those items not consumed on day one were re-presented the next day and maybe the next. Examples would be yogurt with fruit and granola. On day two the granola was soggy. The poached egg which was over cooked on day one (or more) was definitely dry or overcooked on day two. The breakfasts would have been just fine if the offerings were fresh each day.

This property is stunning! Our room was palatial and we felt like Royalty! The staff couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. The king bed was comfortable and we loved having a sitting area and huge bathroom with heated towel rack and quality soaps and shampoo. The shower was easy to use and not slippery. The breakfast was beyond expectations with so many choices… hot frittata and poached eggs, cold cuts, many cheeses, and sausage, fresh fruits and vegetables, 3 different juices, 3 different kinds of fresh breads, yogurt and granola and many cereals plus cappuccino or americano coffees… amazing! Ralph, the Chef, even surprised us with a delicious frosty smoothie at the completion of our meal. The hotel is in a perfect location to walk to restaurants and shops. The closest restaurant was our favorite by far and we had dinner there twice. It’s a multi year Michelin winner called “Aaron’s…” only 2 blocks away and up the hill towards the tourist section. The owner and chef helped us make reservations and later make choices on what to order. We particularly liked the Maltese choices in the special back section of the menu. Everyone we spoke to loved their meal. We had the best mussels we’ve ever eaten (cooked in Prosecco!). The grilled octopus and fresh pastas were incredible! The portions are so ample, we couldn’t even order everything we wanted to try, so needed more than 2 nights. The wine list included local wines as well as unique cocktails like my Negroni with Prosecco and oranges.

There is nothing we didn’t love about this hotel or this restaurant. Consider yourself lucky if you get a room at The Coleridge or table at Aaron’s and you can experience one of the greatest experiences of your life!

Coleridge is everything you need for having a great rest after your busy day exploring the beautiful island of Malta, we stayed in the duplex apartment and it was a lovely choice, the unit was impeccable!!, beautifully decorated,clean and well equipped with everything you possibly need after a long wondering day in Malta . Their hotel staff is amazing, they make sure you feel welcome and comfortable since arrival, they helped us with early check in and late check out, they provide us with good restaurant choices with in Valletta and useful tools to help having a great vacation time. Their hotel is located right in the center of Valletta surrounded with plenty of attractions ,restaurants and historic sites,amazing breakfast with plenty of choices,and beautifully decorated breakfast room .Our special Thanks to all of their staff specially to Maya and Fiorola (Colombian lady) for all of the efforts to make us feeling at home with in our stay in Malta👍🏻

Everything was good

From the time I booked I knew I made the right choice. The team (Maja and Fedora) immediately got in touch and helped to answer questions, assist with taxi bookings, and were just fantastic. We arrived late and we knew exactly what we needed to do for check in, and got whatsapp messages and pictures. On arrival our room was beautiful and spacious and the hotel conveniently located. From booking to check out everyone (Fedora and Damien) were wonderful and the hotel did not disappoint.

Nothing, other than perhaps the telly could be in the main room (but I also liked that it wasn't).

Location is excellent in a quiet street in the old town of Valletta. The hotel is set in a historic building that originated from the 17th century. Room are stylish and comfortable. We had the Fayette room which has a patio with furniture and umbrella to relax. It also has a Jaccuzzi up another level together with 2 sun loungers. Breakfast is from 8am to 10:30 and has a great selection. Staff are all extremely friendly and very helpful

Water pressure in shower could be a little higher. Air conditioning not efficient/cool enough for us which made sleeping difficult as every day was hot.

The staff are lovely, they provide a warm, personalised and attentive service. I was a bit worried about the hotel not being staffed in the later afternoon evening and overnight but you have an emergency number and the Coleridge team are very attentive and accessible, as I discovered on my last evening. My taxi (Get Cab Malta) was about 30 minutes late collecting me to go to the airport. Without me contacting her, Maya called me to see if I was okay and offered to get me a local cab if I had to wait too long. They could not have been more helpful and friendly. Thank you again Maya and team.

This is nit-picking, but if I were the owner, I would review the balance of authenticity versus client comfort and safety re. the lighting in the bedrooms and going down the steps to the cellar. Some of the bedroom lighting is dim, cold (cold white instead of warm white lighting which clashes with the ambience) and impractical (not positioned where you need them). The renovation and decor overall are lovely though - as you can see from the photos.

Wow! I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Every member of staff that we encountered was extremely warm, friendly and welcoming. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection and was served in a lovely underground cellar with beautiful arched ceilings. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to drop off our suitcase in reception upon our arrival in Valletta to save us having to carry it round with us until check in time at 3pm. They upgraded our room to the incredible penthouse suite (Fayette) which had a private jacuzzi and roof top terrace with a breaktaking view of the domed churches of the city. We cannot thank them enough.

The stay from start to finish was perfect! The hotel staff are extremely friendly, patient and helpful! From the moment we started our stay to the moment we left there was always personal care for us. On day one we were explained where all the city highlights were and how to get there and thoughout our stay we continued to receive advice and tips. What was striking was the enthusiasm and the genuine interest and care. This is a hotel where you don't feel like a number! The breakfast every morning was great as was the spacious room with balcony on street view. Despite the street view the room is very quiet and comfortable so you wake up well rested, also because of the quality of the bed to which both my wife and I are sensitive. I would highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel, the location is perfect to explore Malta from. Again thanks to the staff for making this a memorable and wonderful stay! We loved it!

The location is perfect - quiet but incredibly convenient. Very welcoming and helpful staff - prepared to chat, advise and tell us about Malta. More like visiting a family house (admittedly with different family member each day) than a hotel. Characterful rooms. We had a room with a wonderful terrace (2 levels) with a fabulous view of the cathedral floodlit at night from the top level.

The building was old and dictated the design. The number of random steps (particularly between breakfast buffet and tables) would not suit everyone.
