The hostel is in a lively area with plenty of local restaurants, bars, and nightlife. It’s also easy to reach some beautiful beaches in the south by bus. The highlight of my stay was definitely the amazing staff of volunteers — I made great friends and had a fantastic time going out and partying with them!

My private room didn’t have AC, only a ceiling fan that was super loud and barely helped with the heat... The blinds were transparent, so they didn’t block any sunlight in the morning, and since the room faced a common balcony, there was little privacy — definitely something that should be improved. The bathroom facilities were generally okay, although the nearest shower to my room didn’t have hot water (other showers did).

Hostel Vallerta is so cute. The people /staff are so warm . It's run by an older lady. We called her Mamacita. She cooks in the morning, takes care of everything. She even went and bought an iron for us so we could use so we could look good for our date night to LA Capella. Also, Laura ( pronounced Lauda) Beautiful inside and out. She will help you in anyway she can, never stops smiling

Only negative i have is the city noise. The hostel is mostly open air. You can't really blame the hostel for that tho. Price you pay for being in the heart of the city.

The property is stunning with lots of art work and vibrant colours. A little hard to find from the airport but if you use Google maps you can get a bus from the airport very easily. The location is stunning 2 minute walk to the beach, it has a stunning rooftop bar and the best thing is breakfast is included ! Also if they already haven’t done enough very night the staff organise a activity to do , they have a WhatsApp group so you can organise a plan all together go out to the bars and all have a laugh. So you will never be bored if you stay here it’s lots of fun good on a budget and some of the most friendly people I’ve ever met :)

I didn’t like how short we stayed , I don’t think there is a flaw apart from it was tricky to manage public transport but that’s not the hostels problem.

The staff were excellent. Knowledgeable about the area and very friendly. Put on fun events for everyone in the hostel. The rooftop chill area was great. AC for sleeping is a blessing. Beds were great for a hostel

Sleeping was a nightmare due to the sound of the traffic racing down the street and music blaring. Didn’t matter if it was 10pm, 12am, 3am, 6am. This is clearly out of the hostels control. If you are coming here, bring good headphones. (I played a 10hr ocelating fan on Spotify and the sounds of everything pretty much blended in. Made sleeping way easier)

The room was very clean and comfortable. There was everything needed in a hostel. The room was very close to the shared bathroom (I didn't feel it was shared at all) it was very clean and equipped. The staff was very kind, polite and helped us a lot. did love the free pancake and coffee in the morning. Activities cool.

noise level is great in the co-ed room but it was very loud in the all female dorm breakfast great but even a half a slice banana with each pancake would have done wonders.

Excellent location, super staff, ample commons areas with a view. Cleaned daily. Resident staff is awesome, and volunteer staff is on top of their chores. Large fans in rooms help zone out road noise. Love the rooftop vistas. Good value overall.

Rooms are comfy but can get stuffy, fixtures (switches, latches, jammed windows) in rooms/ toilets need updates. Some trashy guests can easily mess up the scene, so need better screening, and clear house rules. A nice upgrade will be semi-capsule bunk beds, or guardrails on upper bunks.

I liked that the property had plenty of space to relax and socialise when you wanted. it’s colourful and vibrant and is a stone throw away from the beach.

maybe it’s normal protocol, however, I wasn’t keen on walking past people asleep in the tv room or the corridor on make shift beds for them. I don’t know why that was happening.

Breakfast of nice pancakes and later paid omelette and fruit. Laundry cleaned and folded (the second time). Helped with luggage upon arrival. Bottom large bunk was ok. The workaways tried their best, but could have used a bit more training. Their English fluency was terrific. Other people were mostly very nice and helpful.

Lots of smokers on top terrace at table where people were trying to eat. Lots of ups and downs in the building. 2 day wait for laundry one time. Second time it was all day. Internet varied depending on your room. Downstairs room had no ventilation, but had nightly ac. Bug bites. Decent pillows for wire furnishings.

I loved my stay at Hostel Vallarta. I enjoyed meeting with fellow travelers and the facilities were very clean. Great location near restaurants, art, community parks, in safe and comfortable neighborhood. The staff was wonderful. Grandma made pancakes for all in the morning, and it was wonderful. There is affordable fruit in the market if we need it, and the hostel has a refrigerator anyone can use. I stayed here for $18. Noises from the road come and go, similar to the beach, and one’s own breath.

This hostel is great. I stayed in own room with shared bathroom. Very comfy big bed. Big ceiling fan. Very nice rooftop patio and lounging areas. Could watch the sunset and the fireworks from the patio.

Unfortunately, there was no water for a few days. Not the hostels fault. There was no water in this part of the city.
