The hotel restaurant is incredible! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect. Some evenings they even had live music in the restaurant. It was a great way to end our evenings before heading to our room for the night! The hotel location is also excellent. You are within walking distance of SO many plazas and sites!! The city is easy to navigate by foot - we spent 5 days here and never needed a car. I have stayed at Hotel Hidalgo a few other times in the past and I will continue to choose this hotel over any others in the city. We requested a room with a balcony, which enhances the beauty of this hotel. We loved opening the balcony doors and having a view of the street bustle, which was mostly people, not cars. The architecture and history of this hotel is truly worth seeing!

Our hotel room A/C unit wasn't working the greatest, so some evenings were pretty warm. We did have a balcony room so we were able to open the balcony doors for some fresh air, which did help (until the mosquitos came in!) Also, the street cleaning crew outside was a bit noisy quite early some mornings, but it didn't really bother us. I would also recommend better lighting above the sink/mirror because it was a little bit dull, but not a really big deal.

The location was excellent, providing easy access to amenities and attractions. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, offering a pleasant stay. The parking was accessible, costing approximately 110 pesos per day. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant experience. The amenities provided were excellent, meeting our needs during our stay.

The noise from the restaurant downstairs could be disruptive, especially in the early mornings. If you prefer to sleep in, the noise from the restaurant may pose a challenge, requiring you to consider other options.

The location is great, and the staff were very helpful in many ways. The room was clean and well kept, and the on-site restaurant was really nice. I loved the history with the hotel as well.

For me, I disliked having to climb the stairs, as I'm older with a bad knee, but I should have asked when making the reservation if there was a first floor room. This is not a complaint, just a comment.

Our room was around the back away from the interior courtyard restaurant and street. It was quiet, nicely remodeled and the be eds are very comfortable. We had lunch and breakfast at the restaurant, both were excellent. The atmosphere is vibrant and traditional. Always a pleasant experience.

The rooms just off the courtyard are loud from the sounds of the restaurant. Maybe they are a cheaper rate.

The feel of being in an old style looking hotel in the center of the city.

They close the outside wooden doors at night. So if you get back late from a late night activity you will find the door closed and a bunch of homeless people sleeping there staring at you while you are knocking on the door for some minutes until someone opens and asks for your reservation.

Very Nice colonial historic hotel in the Center of city easy walk to most sites, pleasant staff and busy courtyard restaurant popular with locals (always a good sign) great value for the money. Old fashioned but homey and comfortable with good lighting and very nice linens

Location was unbeatable. Loud at times but that’s to be expected given that you’re right in the centro histórico. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Not included but very affordable and truly a wonderful way to taste so many typical breakfast dishes.

The pillows were not great but that’s often how it goes in Mexico.

Location

The internet wasn’t always available, we have to go back to the front desk to reactivate the card keys, low water pressure, kind a small bathroom, no fridge or microwave in the rooms. I’m not complaining just giving my opinion.

Excellent location, super clean, friendly staff, great restaurant

The restaurant has the music speakers pointing inwards, so if you stay on the ground floor you can hear it as loud and clear as if it was playing in your room.... luckily they get turned off by 10pm. We also asked for a fully accessible room, and it was not. We had to be moved to a smaller but more accessible room on arrival.

Loved the courtyard and the location was perfect for exploring the historic city. Hotel and restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The rooms weren’t anything too special but it was very affordable. I didn’t know that there is only one tiny window in the room so no real access to the outdoors but again, this was a very low cost stay so made sense.
