Casa Luca's Location is magnificent. It is in walking distance from 5th Avenue, many restaurants, shops and the beach, and relatively close to the bus station on 5th avenue and the one in Downtown Playa -15 to 20 min, depending on your speed-. There are 2 convinience stores open 24 hours acroos.the street, and in walking distance from supermarkets. The room is spacious and comfortable, and has a stovemand kitchen utensils if you want to prepare something. The staff was always attentive. I personally enjoyed very much

There is a bar next door that might be a little noisy sometimes, but it stops relatively early. it is important to clarify two things: 1) The bar seems very nice and vibrant and may enhance your Playa del Carmen experience if you are in the mood for that m 2) This issue is not under control of Casa Luca, and it might be an issue for light sleepers.

Location was great, surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafés, and just one block from fifth Avenue The room was very large with a little patio and big washroom. It was very clean and presented itself exactly as in the photos. There are stairs only and no elevator, which could be problematic if you are on the third or fourth level with large luggage as the stairs are relatively steep. Lystra was excellent to communicate with, and always replied promptly. Her welcome was very kind and instructions in getting to the property were very detailed and accurate. I did not do any cooking, but the studio was equipped with all the necessities for a short stay. water pressure for the shower was good and temperature was hot.

There was nothing that I did not like about the property. The key to the main gate often did not work properly and often had to make several attempts to unlock.

I liked the location, facilities, ambience etc. It might not suit everyone, for reasons some other guests have mentioned, but I enjoyed my 3rd floor Superior Room. The accommodation wasn't in prime condition but, otherwise, it was much the same as shown in the photos. On arrival, the toilet seat lid was stuck to the toilet seat (!) but it was replaced the following day. The safe was also faulty but, again, fixed the next day. Later on, the safe batteries failed but, you've guessed it, they were replaced the following day.

At one point, I did make what I would call a formal complaint - about the lack of a response to my repeated questions about the availability & location of the swimming pool. In the light of my overall experience there, I think this was maybe the result of something getting lost in translation or a delay in messages going via the booking.com website. Face to face contact, when possible, was always friendly & helpful. Guests without at least a little Spanish might struggle, even using translation apps, but that's a comment not a complaint.

The location is amazing, 2 minute walk from Quinta Avenida and super close the the beach. Lots of great restaurants around. The apartment was very clean and has everything you need for a long stay with lots of storage space. The staff were also very friendly and super accommodating when we had a late check in.

The only thing is that all of the apartments are up a few sets of stairs, so if you’re staying in the 4th floor apartment it’s a bit tiring. Also there is a bar downstairs that is a bit loud with music at night but we weren’t disturbed with the doors and windows closed.

The location is really ideal. Super walkable to the beach, only about 10-15 mins to access Playa Mamitas walking, which makes for easy beach days without too much planning and dealing with logistics. Two and a half blocks away is Basic Foodie cafe, which was a absolute gem of a cafe that was ideal for me working from during the days, super friendly staff and fast Internet, + fair prices for the area, a good Americano en las rocas and enough excellent breakfast options you can get something different every day. Also in the direction away from the beach are lots of restaurants that are not overpriced, so don't feel like you're stuck with the tourist trap spots along 5 Avenida. The Al pastor tacos from Los Tarascos were the best I've had during our 7 weeks so far in Mexico and there are several spots that we wanted to try but just didn't have the time to get to. Additionally, Lystra was a great host! Incredibly helpful and very friendly. She really made the spot feel very welcoming and like a true home away from home.

A little more effort could be put into a slightly deeper cleaning between guests. The drawers all needed to be wiped down before we could put anything in them. The facilities overall were good though and the staff was very responsive when we asked for extra trash bags, toilet paper, a change of sheets, and a rag to help us keep the kitchen clean as we were cooking nearly every meal we had in the apartment. We are not light sleepers, so it did not bother us, but there is some obnoxiously loud and bad cover band blaring from one of the bars across the street Thursday-Sunday night. It was very quiet the rest of the week though, as this location is just far enough off the main avenue you don't get the noise from the crowds.

We enjoyed the location of Casa Luca, it was walking distance to the beach and the main road on Playa Del Carmen. Our hosts were always friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier. The room was like a mini apartment, very modern and spacious! The room was kept lovely and clean with housekeeping every second day. The aircon was great on all the hot days!! Mattress was super comfy!

The safe did not work. There was not suitable cutlery and crockery for two adults, only one teaspoon and one plate for dinners. Also the pillows were very uncomfortable, we ended up sleeping on our jackets.

Our room was great! Nice and big with a king size bed and a kitchenette - exactly what we were looking for after a long stay in a hostel. Quiet room with a little balcony, too! Definitely recommend staying here in Playa! Very affordable for what you get!

Fun location, central to everything. I was traveling for work and leisure. Room was cute and spacious. I also stayed in one of the larger rooms on the roof which was wonderful.

Would have been nice to have a roof pool, but the spot was cute and I knew what I was getting.
