We needed to book something last minute and close to the beach, ferry and ADO. We had arrived 3hrs early for check in and the front desk said that our room won't be done for another hour atleast. We were able to leave our luggage while we went out to explore. Check in was smooth. * Room was spacious with just the essentials. (Clean bed, TV - had an issue but was resolved straightway, table and 2 chairs, iron & ironing board - although we didn't use it, the cover looked worn. Lock box - you need the key from the front desk. Has a small mini fridge) * Bathroom was clean. Liked that it had a clothes line in the shower to hang swimsuits. * Room had a small balcony,ours was over looking the side street and part of the main road. Even though the swimming pool was a good size, it was more like a dipping pool. The view of the sun setting it great from up there.

Just to note, there are no lifts/elevator in this hotel. Just keep this in mind, if you can't walk up stairs or if you have big luggages.

Awesome and inviting atmosphere - I was mesmerized by all the live plants hanging off the balconies, it was this curtain of lush vines. This place is such good value. The room and bathroom were super clean and nice - they looked like something you'd have to pay a lot more money for. The workers were really nice and friendly too. Also, great location on 10th Ave. by a ton of restaurants, cafés, and shops. This turned out to be my favorite street because it had a ton to see and do without the crowds, vendors, and craziness of 5th Ave. I would definitely recommend Los Itzaes to anyone visiting Playa del Carmen.

They didn't have breakfast, but there is a café around the corner they told us about called Epazzote. This place was only $5 per person for a full breakfast. So it's not even a con really.

Great location. Simple but comfortable room and very clean. Excellent A/C and beds were firm but comfortable.

The hot water in shower ran out very quickly and it was strange because it wouldn't just turn cold it would literally stop coming out. So you'd have to turn water to cold setting and it'd start coming out again. There was a misunderstanding about our room being for 2 people rather than 3 people and I informed upon check in and it was fine, they checked us all in and charged me. They later informed me they needed to charge an extra fee for the third person even though the woman who checked me in made the mistake (and should have told me upon chekcin if this was relevant) and the price is the same for 3 people as 2 people on website.

Great hotel with good value for money, location is one of the best as it’s quiet central but not directly on 5th avenue, clean, good rooms and staff are nice

Beautiful lobby with all the plants and a great location an easy walk to the main street, ferry and bus station. Comfortable beds and well air conditioned room. One of the quietest places I've stayed in Playa del Carmen, I could barely hear all of the nightlife.

No pressure in the shower. No water bottles provided in rooms, there is a water station in the lobby with small cups but you aren't allowed to refill water bottles. Close to a shop to buy your own though. Pool on the rooftop is lovely, but very shallow and limited shade if it's busy, which luckily it wasn't while we were there.

This is the second time I have stayed here and the Los Itzaes Hotel will always be my go-to. Not only did the staff place me in the same room as requested, but they were so helpful with my check-in from start to finish. It was lovely that the staff remembered me too. What I love about this hotel is that is it PERFECTLY located, clean, quiet, you get hot water, WiFi is fine, there is Netflix and it's affordable. It's an ideal place to base yourself if you want easy access to the ADO bus station, beach, 5th avenue, Cozumel ferry, the Xcaret group excursion pick up point (Old Navy) or if you need to transfer to Tulum. The rooms are well stocked with shampoo and conditioner, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board and a mini fridge. Whilst there isn't water in the room, you can get some filtered water near the reception desk. There is also a roof top terrace with a pool that is wonderfully peaceful and a GREAT spot to catch the sunset around 6.30pm. Thank you so much to the team for accommodating my mum and I. We'll be back, of course!

My family and I came to this hotel for the second time and, once again, we had a wonderful stay. The staff is so nice and welcoming, always ready to assist. The rooms were clean and in good standing. My parents and I really felt at home.

The breakfast is outside the hotel. A little coffee and tea station in the lobby would be appreciated so we don’t have to leave the hotel just to get a coffee

The hotel was clean, room was spacious and everything worked as it should. Perfect location - walking distance everywhere.

There was slight misunderstanding about the payment when checking in and it made the first impression a bit shady as the employee wanted to charge me twice. Everything was resolved in the morning, with the explaination that the employee didn't know how to work the payment terminal.

Everything was great. Vicky, at the front desk is specially nice and helpful. She is a great receptionist and her recommendations for food, activities, etc. were absolutely excellent!! The rooms were clean, good size and they have a mini fridge (which was not in the description of the room). The water pressure is very good (something a bit rare for the peninsula). The lobby and the pool area are very welcoming. The hotel doesn't have breakfast onsite, BUT they can get you a discount for a breakfast buffet that is very close by and it is REALLY good food. Bonus: The hotel is next door to a market so you can get super inexpensive, yet good, food (around 5 dollars for two people). Also, the parking lot on top of the market is very affordable and has rates by the hour, day and week. Also, the hotel is very close to a laundromat, so you can have all your clothes washed before you leave the trip. Quite convenient if this is the last stop in a longer stay.

Well, the location is great for young people; it is in the middle of tons of restaurants, etc. And that is actually great; the only inconvenient is that because the bars etc. are so close by, it can get a bit noisy at night, especially in the weekends.

This is a very comfortable place to stay. The rooms are spacious and the staff is absolutely wonderful. Vicky, one of the receptionists, is exceptional and always has great recommendations about restaurants, laundromats, events, etc. She knows which cab/shuttle companies are reliable and will get you a reservation at a very good price. The hotel feels safe and friendly.

Because of the location, you do have to keep in mind that there might be loud people walking in front of the hotel. So, just make sure to turn on the air-conditioning in the room at night to drown the sound outside.
