Beautiful hotel, room and facilities. The staff was excellent as was the spa and yoga. Breakfast was very good and our room overlooking the beach was wonderful!

Everything at the hotel was great. Outside the hotel is another story. Tulum is very touristy and there are security issues. My children were shaken down after leaving a very nice restaurant in Tulum in their car by the local police and they had to pay them $400USD to stay out of jail. Very frightening. No one seems to bat an eye about this though. It's just everyday life.

Perfect spot for a true vacation. Property is right on the beach with plenty of palm trees, chairs and day beds. We had ceviche and drinks on the beach for lunch a few days. All of the food is incredible, including the free breakfast. The pool is very nice and gets sun throughout the entire day. Spa facilities were great - you can do a hydrotherapy circuit of sauna, steam room, hot and cold plunge pools, which the staff will time for you and provide refreshing infused waters. Our room had a roof-deck with a hot tub that we could fill up as we pleased. It was warm enough in May that the rooms with the plunge pools would be just as nice since the water stays warm naturally. We had dinner at their sister restaurant, Ziggy's, a few nights and the food exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect because you are one step removed from the rowdier beach clubs while still being right on top of everything, so I would say this spot is perfect for couples looking to relax but still go out if you want. While there is seaweed on the beach near the water, I would not say it was bothersome at all because this property is so nice and the beach is beautiful still with the palm trees and white sand. We had a refrigerator in our room, which was nice for having wine, beer, etc (there is a store right down the street), and everything in the room was in great condition. We drove and there are plenty of parking spots on the property. Saff were all super nice and accommodating.

Loved this hotel and the staff were great - nothing was too much trouble. Plus great food at Fresco's and Ziggy's - loved the breakfasts!

There was nothing I disliked about the hotel. There is currently a seaweed problem affecting some of the beaches in Mexico. Unfortunately we were unable to make full use of the beach or go into the sea during our stay. BUT that is not the fault of the hotel, it's nature doing it's thing. It didn't spoil our holiday or stay at all, we still sat on the beach some days but also booked excursions in different places where the seaweed wasn't a problem and we were able to swim, snorkel etc.

Great location, spacious rooms, attentive staff. Awesome beach and swimming pool area.

Sea in front of the hotel was full of seaweed, but it is not the hotel’s fault, and nearby properties had similar issues.

A Magical Family Escape at Cabañas Tulum We had an unforgettable stay at Hotel Cabañas Tulum. The beach alone is reason enough to visit—absolutely pristine, with soft, talcum-like sand and a stunningly blue sea that never felt crowded. It was pure paradise. The staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They made us feel special every day and were especially sweet and accommodating with my daughter, going out of their way to make her feel seen and spoiled in the best way. Both on-site restaurants offered excellent menus with fresh, flavorful, and healthy options. Breakfasts were a standout—generous portions of açai bowls, smoothies, eggs in every style, pancakes, French toast, and fresh fruit. Our daughter was in heaven! The beachside restaurant also had lovely evening entertainment that added to the relaxed, festive atmosphere. The spa was an absolute dream. Not only was it deeply relaxing, but it gave me a chance to truly connect with my teenage girls—an experience we’ll all treasure. The location is undeniably beautiful and peaceful, but it’s worth noting that Tulum in general is quite expensive. Taxis cost a lot and the area isn’t really set up for walking, so getting around can be a challenge if you want to explore beyond the hotel. Overall, though, Cabañas Tulum is a little slice of heaven and we left with full hearts and unforgettable memories. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special, soulful getaway.

The only downside is that Tulum in general is very expensive—meals out, activities, and taxis really add up. Still, the beauty and vibe made it a trip to remember!

The beach was incredible. I think this must be the best spot in the hotel zone. The breakfast- also amazing. With the amount they let you order, you can easily make it cover breakfast and lunch. The staff, was the best part about this place. They are amazing, so welcoming and friendly, they are SO well staffed that everything is immaculate. They work hard to make sure every want or need is met. I've never felt so sad leaving a hotel before. We will definitely be back.

It was pricey.. and everything around is pricey too (food, car service, clothing, souveniers)- I wasn't sure the price would feel worth it, but it definitely was in the end. But, don't think you're saving money by coming to this area for vacation- in most cases, it was much more $$ than in the US.

Super nice place, very much tidied up and clean. Top beachside with great sunbeds, both shadowy and sunny places, and compared to other beachsides closeby, very calm and quiet. Handling of all communication was very easy and via messenger, almost all day also! Very helpful staff and speaking mostly a very good English.

Our room was not too soundproofed, unfortunately we could hear the neighbours atop doorslamming sometimes. Prices of Drinks and Food were a bit higher than expected or compared to downtown places.

f I had to pick one word to describe the Cabanas at Tulum, it would be "remarkable." My now wife and I went to The Cabanas for our honeymoon and it was virtually perfect in every way. Literally from the first moment we arrived, the staff was attentive, warm, and courteous. They offered a cocktail that was delicious and refreshing. I especially appreciated that they had a mocktail ready for me as I don't drink alcohol very often. The vibe was relaxed yet professional and thoughtful. For example, we were able to get great room service from the restaurants on the premises. Frescoes was the more casual option, but Ziggy's was the real deal. Literally everything that we tried on the Ziggy's menu that we had for any meal at any hour was simply delicious. This ranged from grilled octopus to fresh fruit with yogurt to desserts and more. We did not get sick from the food at all and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The restaurants themselves were also about 100 feet from the ocean so the breeze was refreshing and the views were stunning. Our room included a stunning view of the ocean itself. The room was comfortable with an air conditioner and wi-fi. Although it didn't include a television, honestly, we didn't miss it. We just used our laptop to stream. The room also included our own balcony with a super comfortable hammock and our own private hot tub. There was plenty of bottled water for brushing our teeth. The beach area had its own comfy seats and couches. The ocean was simply perfect. Clear water, great temperature, smooth surf. There was also a wonderfully refreshing pool on the grounds. In addition to all of the above, there was also a spa. We did the complimentary aqua therapy. It was refreshing - the cold pool was very invigorating. Oh, and the service. The SERVICE!!! Everyone was so friendly and thoughtful!! If an option wasn't available, we were informed immediately and presented with alternatives.

It’s far from downtown Tulum -you need a taxi to travel there

Such a lovely hotel! We didn’t want to leave at all. The staff was one of the most welcoming people we ever met. The breakfast at Frescos was a la carte and soooo good! We couldn’t get enough of it :)) (My recommendation: the Salmon Tostado) The beach was super clean and calm. If the weather wasn’t that good the pool was also a nice alternative to the beach! Also it was amazing to see how they protected the wildlife (the nests of the sea turtles would be roped off so no one could step on them). Our room (we luckily had a free upgrade) was beautiful and the view was just divine. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Tulum and we’ll definitely be back!🫶🏼

Nothing. Everything was divine.

Wonderful stay, staff were welcoming, professional, and accommodating. The room was beautiful and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. AC worked impeccably. Refreshing to not have staff ask for tip for service, as although we did end up tipping at the end it’s a much better experience not being asked for it as in most other places in Tulum. Food was delicious, and coffee, including espresso was available! There is a small (well equipped gym) and the sun beds area is quiet and relaxing.
